Chapter 17: Kidnapped

...After thirteen months we were finally able to find Julius via a satellite that was created to locate his energy, but finding him dead meant his meteor link had been broken, three days later you activated a meteor link, which should be impossible since there is a special process for linking a person to a meteor. In other words, Julius found another way to transfer the Apostles crest to you and shortened the activation time for the meteor link,normally a year by half.

Per our speculation the side effect of that action led his pulze bond to become unstable and caused the matox to overcome his cells".

"So did you come here just to blab to my son all this classified info, or is there a main agenda to get to?", My father asked.

"It may be classified but it also concerns him since Brian has now become a military asset".

"That still doesn't clarify your goal here, Mr Vasquez".

"It's as you've suspected from the beginning, Mr Strider, we're here to retrieve a military weapon, apostle six,Brian Strider".

Since the conversation started I had an uneasy feeling that they were here for me, especially after their reaction from showing them the crest, however I can't let them get their hands on this crest after master gave his life to keep it from them I'd be wasting his effort. He must have given me the crest because he knew I won't be able to fully utilize its power because of my lack of Pulze ability, plus the last words he left me were to believe in him if I got into trouble, now that I think about it he'd been training me for this all this time.

I will fulfill his last wish as his student. I glanced at my father and gave him a nod, he understood what I meant even without me speaking it and returned the nod with a face that clearly said that he had my back. With his support I was able to steel my resolve.

"Sorry Mr Ramsey, but I can't let you have this power since my master was trying to keep the military from doing harm to people with it, as his student I will carry out his will!"

"Is that your decision after hearing what I said, do you really understand the implications of what you're saying?!"

"I know what I'm saying, I may be just fifteen but I'm way smarter than my age, even if it means fighting the military I am prepared to do it".

"Strong words from a weak boy, fighting your family will indeed be a problem but you've left us no choice".

Immediately one of his subordinates took out a mysterious silver orb , my father reacted with lightning speed and dashed to my side, but a finger tip away from me he suddenly froze and I noticed the silver orb had started to glow a low red. The soldiers arose and started to walk toward me, I instinctively knew I had to get away from them so I bolted for the door, unfortunately my body was still a mess and I wasn't going fast enough. I heard a silenced gun shot behind me and the last thing I felt before losing consciousness was the intense pain of a hundred and fifty thousand volts running into my system.

"You didn't have to tase him wolf, he's already injured and we could have caught him easily".

"Sorry sir but I'm not taking my chances with the commander for letting a target escape".

After about thirty minutes, Lemuel was able to move again, but Ramsey and his men had already left with his son and he could no longer sense their waves. He noticed they left behind a silver orb and after examining it he started to feel fear for the first time in a long time.

"T-this is a 'time sphere'",he exclaimed, he'd come across them once when he was on a mission to clear an underground weapons market, according to what he found out they are new weapons even the public don't know about that have the ability to freeze all movements within a two mile radius, as if freezing time itself. Which means they were long gone with his son, Lemuel gathered all the maids to issue orders to them.

"Beatrice, contact everybody to assemble here by six pm today, they are to abort all missions, everyone else put the mansion under lock down and prepare it for the Strider meeting".

"Excuse me master"

"What is it Vanelope?"

"I lost the tracking signal of master Brain, did anything happen to him?"

"He will be fine, just do as I've ordered you"

"Yes master".

Lemuel's reply had affirmed Vanelope's worry that Brian was in danger, she immediately guessed that those military she had seen earlier must have something to do with it. Lemuel dispersed the maids to their duties and headed to his room, he had already thought up a plan and he was going to execute it immediately.

As the maids dispersed to their various duties, Vanelope was still standing in the same place not moving an inch, she had a look of horror on her face and she was shaking with fear.

"Don't worry Vanelope, the master would definitely save Brian, believe in his strength and we all know how much he loves his son", Beatrice said walking up to her and giving her a hug, "for now let us help by doing as the master orders".

Vanelope nodded and finally she begun to move again to get to her duties. By six pm all the striders had gathered in the meeting room and this time the maids were allowed to partake in the meeting too, the was a loud silence along with a strong suspense. A strider meeting is considered a gathering of some of the strongest superhumans on earth even though it's just a family meeting. The Striders met rarely, and if they did it was because of the world monarch's summon or to discuss very important family issues, so an out of the blue meeting like this had everyone on edge because it meant something grave was about to be discussed...
