Giant Bats Pt 3

Jeene yelled towards Isaki but he just looked at her with an annoyed face.

"Girl, do you think that sh*tty monster is worth above Bronze Class? Even if he added some skill or whatever he f*cking added. He is still a monster that we need to kill so that we can get money---"

Isaki wasn't able to continue what he was saying when another group of thorns flew towards them and because he was not paying attention, he wasn't able to dodge or defend himself when it hit directly into his body. Splashing his blood towards the member's faces that even Chika was reached by his blood's splatter.

Chika is shocked by what she's seen and her body froze while everyone takes cover. Some went towards the door and tried to open it to escape but it was locked.

Panic rose over them as they saw their leader's body crushed by the thorn as his organs scattered on the cold floor. Jeene steps in front to take lead as everybody is panicking.

"Everyone! Stay in your position, we must finish this raid no matter what!"

She yelled and created a huge ball of fire between her palm and throws it directly at the Lord but it only deal a little damage on the surface.

"We must retreat! That Lord is above Bronze Class already, we can't defeat it."

One of the attackers screamed as he sprinted towards the door as the rest of the members followed him and pushed the door open but it won't bulge.

Chika is frozen at her spot while looking at the events happening in front of her eyes. She could hear her heartbeat as her breath hitched. Regret creeps inside and the realization hits her hard, Chika closed her eyes and wished that it was all a dream and she's still in her mom's house chilling on the sofa while eating chips.

"Stop! What are you doing? You're all gonna get killed!!!"

Jeene yelled as she look back at the members pushing down the door without hesitation. The Lord lifted his wings and throws another set of thorns but this time it's bigger and faster than before.

In a blink of an eye, the members were smashed to pieces by the thorns, some body parts flew meters away due to the impact.

Chika has seen it all happen as blood spattered on her cheeks, with a trembling hand, Chika reach and wipes away the blood and look at her fingers.

"Oh my… "

Chika couldn't stand any longer as her feet gave in, she slump on the ground while kept on looking at her finger. A tap on her shoulder brings her back to reality.

"What are you doing!? Heal!!!"

Kalish screamed with tears streaming down her face as she help heal the beaten defenders. Chika nodded her head and look back at those attackers who were wounded and healed them in the distance.

Due to the thorns hitting the door, it creates a decent crack that could help them escape. Making the remaining members inside hope for the best.

"Ah! F*ck this!"

One of the defenders leaves his position and sprint towards the door with his shield glowing with power. He went on and pushed the door with all his might, creating a huge crack.

This gives hope for Chika as a smile formed on her lips then she proceeded to heal the man to reduce his fatigue as he goes for another round to break the door.

Everybody's attention is focused on the door that they didn't notice that the Lord went for another attack. He gestured the baby bats to go ahead and bomb the entrance making the walls at the side crumble and fall down on the ground, blocking the entrance and squashing those who are unable to leave the area.

"N-no, we are trapped!"

Jeene took a few steps forward as her knees gave out and falls on the cold floor with a defeated face void of any emotion. Chika went to her side to comfort her.

"Jeene, don't lose hope! There must be a way out of this tower even if we can't defeat the Lord!"

Chika said out of nowhere while looking around for any possible way of exit or some miracle to happen.

"There is a way."
