Switcheroo Part 2

I wish I could say that our attacker, and us got fully acquainted but not even a minute in a small wave of rock was sent directly towards us! Taking note of Aphele in my arms Brandon and I tried to jump out of the way, though it was in different directions. Because of this Brandon and Aphele tumbled onto the ground while I landed safely. My heart quickly became alarmed but before I could call out Brandon's name Lunaire stepped in to take a medium-sized rock to the chest! At the sight, my concern quickly turned to rage. Once again my body moved on instinct as I made a full-blown blitz to the mysterious figure!

One by one I dodged her onslaught of rocks as if I had done it thousands of times before as I managed to get closer the techniques started flowing in one by one automatically! Like I had known these skills my entire life without practicing them. Once I got in range I unloaded a close roundhouse that the women barely dodged! However I was able to quickly turn that into a sweep that sends her to the ground! From there I tried finishing her off with an axe kick, but she set up a tiny barrier just in time to prevent any connection! In that moment my knowledge completely vanished as I was sent tumbling from a stone led fist! The masked figure continued this construct as she started to block numerous shakily put together shadow blasts from Aphele! Though she managed to brave through while subtly moving her feet, trapping him in a sinkhole that hugged him like a tight sweater.

However all this pandemonium left her wide open as Deon in his struggle charged up a projectile of his own. However this was far more different than before as when he launched said blast Deon was rocketed back by a stream of water and wind! Fortunately that blast was the only one to leave any damage as the projectile broke through the gauntlet and sent the woman back! As she tumbled on the hard ground Brandon finally tried finishing her off with a kick. But for some reason the blow was so sloppy that Deon could've done better as the woman got back up at the last second. She then proceeded to dodge a variety of amateurish punches from Brandon! In fact they were so pathetic that it wasn't long before the woman proceeded to blanket Brandon down in a sheet of small rock! As Brandon struggled greatly she was about to unload another attack, but to the side she saw something that caught her attention.

"Sorry, I really wanted to continue this game, but it looks like I would be interrupting something, ta ta lovelies," she said in a mocking tone.

After she sunk back into the ground again a figure from on high started to rocket in at breakneck speeds and poised attack! Upon its arrival a huge full power shockwave leveled the surrounding area to pieces! Before I could even call out Brandon's name a monstrous cloud of dust and rubble caked my senses. When the dust finally settled, the first thing I saw was a golden wall of light. Surprisingly though, the shield's wielder was a confused Brandon; however, before it could overwhelm him a smile formed around his face as he acknowledged the cloaked figure.

"Good to see you master Basa!"

Brandon's intuition was right, as we saw Basa sweep away the dust cloud and adopt a meeker figure to greet her student. And as Brandon gave her the full knowledge of what happened a twinge of uneasiness washed over me. The same uneasiness I felt every time they talked with each other. Like I was seeing a violent beast lord over my brother. Still Brandon managed to give the best debrief he could complete with all the "necessary" onomatopeias.

"So you all managed to switch elements? I thought crystalia was strong but I didn't know this was possible. That would explain all the pandemonium in the main building. The only things the other specialists could find was that our crystalia was severely short on stock with small modified batches sweeped in the air vents. That women you fought must've done this as a distraction. If I fast enough maybe I can-."

"Wait Basa, maybe we can help," Brandon said energetically.

"Brandon we have no idea what this shit can do to you or your friends. You may have learned to use the Synchro Plane but this is on a whole nother level!"

"Compared to some of the others we are doing just fine. If it's anything like regular crystalia we should be good to go in a couple of hours. Besides, the trainees need your help way more than us. At the very least let us track her down. The longer we wait the more she'll get away," Bradon said insistently.

Realizing the weight of his plea I tried stepping in.

"Brandon maybe we should listen to her, we just got thrashed by this girl without even trying," I said truthfully.

"We also managed to land a hit and use each other's elements, heck you nearly had her yourself with mine."

"That's beside the point, you never had an element before Brandon we don't know what could happen!

At that moment I instantly regretted what I said as Brandon soon fell silent. Before the conversation got lost Aphele stepped in Brandon's place.

"We'll keep an eye on the masked women and call it in Basa, you have my word. Brandon is right, though the longer we debate the harder it will be to catch up."

"And what makes you think I'll agree?"

At that moment the main building started to spew out a variety of explosions followed by cries for help. At the sight Basa could do nothing but clench her teeth as she soon relented to our demands. Using her sonar-like Hypersonic Wail she managed and mana sense she was able tp pick up on thieves ' direction as she decided to let us pursue. Along the way Aphele proceeded to take charge for the battle ahead.
