Ch. 56 'The Darkened Heart'

Skylar managed to find some time-controller somewhere else. Without wasting time, he immediately sucked up all their energy and stored it in the container.

There were screams in several places, and the surrounding residents could not help them. To be precise, the neighbor would never hear the cry of asking for help as Skylar made a soundproof barrier. This way, he could take their energy by force unnoticed.

Skylar looked at the contents of the container, which was fully loaded. He must return to hand it over to that person and took another vessel.

After making sure there was no time-controller around that place, Skylar left. But an elderly person stopped his steps.

"Young man. Why did you do all this? How many time-controllers did you kill?"

"..." disregarding the question, Skylar hit the old man with wind elemental energy.

The energy made a sharp blade in a crescent moon shape. It could cut the human body to half easily. Alas, the blade didn't cut the old man; instead, it went through the old man's body as if the man himself was a ghost.

This event made Skylar baffled.

What happened? Who is this old man?

Seeing this old man was not ordinary Elementalist, Skylar put the container inside his astral dimension then summoned his weapon.

The weapon was a twin disc-like blades that could merge into one forming a full moon. He moved so quickly and threw his two disc-like blades towards the old man.

The weapon was just a distraction. Skylar moved right away when the old man's eyes focused on his flying blades. He spoke some strange words like a spell while his hands made a circle with his joint fingers.

Seconds later, a giant tornado made its way towards the old man. Skylar smirked as he could see the old man's end. Alas, all of sudden everything went stop.

The swords, the tornado even his own body came to a stop.

Did the time freeze? How?

Strange enough, Skylar was still conscious. He could still hear or see. Only he couldn't move his body. It felt like a shackle wrapped his whole body restraining his movement.

"Who are you?" Skylar asked in a monotonous voice. "You're not a time-controller."

"I'm not. Yet I could still stop time even if my opponent is an Elementalist knight."

Both of Skylar's eyebrows knit together in confusion, hearing the confession of the man.

"I know what you were planning. I understand why you are desperate. But did you not aware? All of the energies that you stole will be useless once it pulls out from the container. Your awaiting all this time would be useless."

"I don't care." hissed Skylar with fierce eyes.

"..." the old man looked down sadly. "Xiao Chun," just this name alone made Skylar's body tremble. "That child, she won't come back. Let her go in peace."

"..."

It looked like Skylar agree with the old man for a second. But seconds later, he was covered with waves of his energy. The waves were too powerful, making the local area fall apart.

"I will not give up. If necessary, I WILL FIND THE TIME MASTER to resurrect her."

"Princess Xiao Yue will not be able to raise a dead person." the old man retorted firmly.

"She can reverse Chun Chun's lifetime."

"You are crazy! If the user uses her power to repeat time for years, the user will lose her life."

Skylar laughed sarcastically, "At least I got what I want."

The old man let out a resigned sigh. "It looks like your heart already became a darkened heart."

When an Elementalist knight loses his inamorata, two possibilities will happen.

He would shut himself for years to mourn the dead beloved, or the knight's heart would cloud over by dark emotion. Once his heart became a darkened heart, he would be an evil knight who will kill mercilessly to obtain his goal.

Only his inamorata could bring him back, that is, if she could be resurrected.

Otherwise, other Elementalist knights had to kill the white knight.

He sincerely hoped that the war between the knights had never taken place,

"Just so you know. You will never find Princess Xiao Yue's. When you find her, she won't be easy for you to defeat. The more time-controlling energy that you stole, the stronger the princess will be."

After finishing saying that, the old man jumped high then vanished to the sky. Skylar did not intend to chase him as the old man's existence was the least important.

"..." Skylar moved his hands to ensure that he could walk. He saw his surroundings, which had also been moving as usual.

Skylar stored the weapons back. And even the legacy equipment had been kept; his hair hadn't turn normal. The hair color was still white as he already found his real source of a knight's energy.
