(Brutalus POV)
"Things look a bit different." I said as I looked out the carriage's window, "What did you do, Malenia?"
I was sitting inside a carriage pulled by horses that were taking me to Raya Lucaria, the place where the Lunar Queen Rennala was. Malenia had accompanied me on this journey as my bodyguard, not like I needed one.
Liurna looked much different, I couldn't exactly put my finger on it. It was still the same; a massive lake region with that misty and magical atmosphere, but there was less "Death" feeling. There were more buildings I don't remember, several villages with actual people in it. There were also less shitty creatures that wanted to attack everything in sight.
Of all areas, Liurna would be as tame as Limgrave, but still a dangerous location to get careless in.
"Nothing much, My Lord." Malenia said, "I merely led your forces to repel the Raya Lucaria Army."
"Hm..." I said looking at a giant prawn bathing in the sun off in the distance, "Is that so....may be an effect of the Reshaping."
"Perhaps." She said
I turned to look at her, "Well, seems Baeron is in good spirits." I said
On Malenia's lap, my young boy sat with his thumb in his mouth, holding a knight toy on his free hand. He was wearing a black royal outfit, one that was chosen by his Mother personally.
Malenia smiled, "Yes, Brother Baeron is indeed in a good mood." She said as she held him
"He's taken a liking to you." I said as I crossed my arms, "Take good care of him."
"Of course." Malenia nodded, "Prince Baeron will be protected fiercely by my blade."
I tilted my head, "Makes you think, huh?" I said, "Technically, he's your Brother, much like all the other Demigods."
"I respect Lord Brutalus and his wishes, I do not think much of that." Malenia said, "I am your Concubine as well, it feels strange....bedding my Brother's father on a regular basis."
"That part is strange." I said waving it off, "Let's not mention that, but tell me, Malenia. About your Brothers."
Malenia frowned as she caressed Baeron's black hair, as the boy was solely focused on the wooden toy I carved for him.
"If you speak of my Twin, Miquella, I can answer wholeheartedly." She said, "He is the Purest of The Pure. I fought for him, slayed his enemies, and defended his home with such ferocity. I was His Blade. But I am now yours. I love him still, but it was you who cured me."
I nodded, "I see." I said, "What do you know of your other brothers? Morgott, Mohg, Godwyn, Rykard, and Radahn."
"Godwyn The Golden....." Malenia said, "He was the Golden Child, beloved by all. Mother's Favorite. I knew him before his tragedy. He was...beautiful. Miquella admired him....as did I. He had a certain.....Charm. He befriended the Ancient Dragons and stopped the War with them. Godwyn was simply the Greatest Man this land knew."
"I wish I could've met him." I said with a smile, "The things I've heard of him are nothing but good."
"As for the other Two sons of Godfrey.....I do not know them well. From what I know, however, Morgott was fiercely loyal to the Golden Order and to Marika, and defended Leyndell with everything he had, despite how he was treated. As for Mohg, I do not know much about him. Only that he communed with an Outer God, similar to myself."
"You didn't know Mohg took Miquella?" I asked, "I went and fought him myself, killed him and tried to take Miquella's body back. Didn't budge."
"What is done cannot be undone." Malenia said with a sad look
Something seemed off about her attitude regarding Miquella. I couldn't place my finger on it. It was weird. Malenia was free of any influence from an Outer God, including the Rot.....she could only wield it so she chose but she chose not to. I wield an overwhelming amount of power that allowed her to be free, but I still can't understand this feeling.
"Is that so...." I said leaning in to Baeron as he laughed, "What about Rykard and Radahn?"
Baeron was in his own world, laughing as he played with his toy, it was nice to him being full of joy.
"Rykard defied the Golden Order by scheming with the Great Serpent. Despite not liking the Golden Order myself, defiling myself for a Blasphemous Reptile is not something I respect." Malenia said, "And Radahn......"
"He was The Strongest."
****************************************************
"We're here." I heard the Knight call out
I nodded and opened the door to the carriage and stepped out of it, being hit by the moist smell of the lake.
We were at the entrance to the Academy, there being dozens of Raya Lucaria Soldiers standing in front, ready for anything.
I had sent word of a peace talk to the Raya Lucaria Leaders, Rennala included. I didn't feel like waging a serious war against a potential ally.
I stood in front of the Gate, seeing the massive Magic Seal glow brightly.
"Hm...." I said as I felt a tug in my pants, "Huh?"
I looked down to see Baeron standing next to my legs, pointing at the Gate, "Shiny." He said with a bright tone
I nodded, "That's right, my boy." I said, "That's Magic."
"Magic?" He asked
"Yes." I said, "Magic."
Baeron, as young as he was, could already speak. I wasn't too surprised, he was a Demigod after all. Marika and my son.
I watched as Malenia walked in front of me, "I am Malenia, Blade of Brutalus." She said, "I am here to announce The Elden Lord's Arrival. Inform Rennala of The Full Moon that My Lord is awaiting his invitation inside."
One of the Knights, whom I recognized instantly, stepped forward.
"Lady Rennala is already awaiting Brutalus." Moongrum said as he held his staff in his hand, "He can already come inside."
"That is Lord Brutalus." Malenia said with a fierce tone, "He is Elden Lord, you will refer to himself as such."
"Relax." I said as I smiled, "Moongrum and I are well acquainted, aren't we?"
"I recall a Tarnished named Brutalus recklessly rushing me to his death at one point." Moongrum said, "But that was before the Reshaping. We are all born anew."
"Including Lady Rennala."
