The Sinnoh Region! An extraordinary corner of the world. A place home to magnificent creatures. A place that holds many secrets. Time and space; protectors of myth and legends. A particular girl will create a new story!
"Flaaffy, Discharge!" A girl wearing a dress yelled out. A bipedal pink sheep released a terrifying amount of electricity, its fur shining.
It dazzled on the stage, and it expelled bundles of fur from the earlier Cotton Guard; The clusters shined and let out strands of electricity. The fluffy field left everyone awed.
A younger girl that seemed to be at the age of eight was watching it all happen on TV. Her eyes lit up with excitement. "Dad!" She shouted.
Her father rushed downstairs only to discover that his daughter was fine. Though, when he looked at the TV, he let out a sigh.
"What is it this time?" He had short blonde hair, green eyes, and pale skin. His body was lean and muscles slightly protruded from his casual clothing. His voice was gentle as he walked up to his daughter.
"I want to be a Pokemon Coordinator!" She declared as she pointed at the TV. Her father wasn't surprised, as he constantly found his daughter watching contest shows.
He placed his hand on her head and smiled. "Ok, I'm sure you'll do great. Have you thought of what your first Pokemon will be?"
"Sentret! It has to be a Sentret!" She let out a plea with a small pout. Her bright green eyes glistened from incoming tears.
Her father felt shocked; Sentret wasn't common in Sinnoh, but there were cases of a few being spotted. "You don't like Tirtwig, Chimchar, or Piplup?" He looked at his daughter, expecting her to at least pick one of these Pokemon.
He was an aide to Professor Rowan, so he could get her a Pokemon that's been bred and well trained from the lab.
"No! I want a Sentret!" Her father didn't know why she liked a Pokemon, which wasn't very well known in Sinnoh. "Can I ask why?" He sat down next to her and put her on his lap.
"It's cute!" Her father's smile faltered a bit. "…" he should've expected such a simple answer from her. "Fine, I promise to get you one." A hug from her small arms rewarded his response.
She stuck out her pinkie, and he knew what it meant. "I said it was a promise, didn't I?" A teasing remark as he made a pinkie promise with his daughter. Her smile beamed, which made him smile from ear to ear.
He loved his daughter, and he didn't blame her when his wife gave birth and died. That day, for reasons, he blamed himself and wallowed in alcohol and grief.
Luckily, his friend from the lab pulled him out of it; till now he took care of his daughter meticulously and full of affection. He now had to make plans to go to another region.
"Elaine, how about you also promise to not play with those two boys?" He said with a saddened tone. She shook her head, not wanting to listen to her father anymore. Escaped from his grasp, she ran to her room, as he let out a sigh.
The girl had long, wavy black hair and bright green eyes. She stared out the window. The pair of eyes held eagerness and looked to be expecting someone. From a distance, she could see two small boys running to her home.
"Elaine! Come out and play!" Barry yelled out. She rushed downstairs and met her father's downcast gaze. Which prompted her to run out of the door without speaking to him.
She knew what her father was like when her friends visited. He walked to the front of the house and stared at the two boys menacingly, which scared them.
Lucas grabbed Elaine's hand as he yelled, "Run!" The three bolted out of the area. When Lucas looked back, he could see the deathly stare from her father. He shivered, as he could feel the cold sweat on his back.
His hand squeezed Elaine's. They were both out of breath when they reached Lake Verity. Barry was still energetic. "Your dad is scary!" Barry said as they all sat under a tree. Lucas nodded, as she looked at both of them with a little confusion.
Elaine not once heard her father yelling at them, or seen her father do anything wrong; she couldn't find out why they both thought he was scary.
However, the boys both knew how scary her father's face could be when they visited. They were shocked at how two-faced he could be when they saw how loving he was towards Elaine.
"He isn't bad. He promised to get me a Sentret for my first Pokemon!" She said with excitement.
"What's a Sentret?" Barry asked. "A Pokemon common in the Johto Region, just like Bidoof in our Region," Lucas said matter-of-factly.
"Huh? How d'you know that?!" His words made Barry appalled. He suddenly felt he was the dumb one out of the trio.
"His father works with Professor Rowan as an aide. Not that shocking that Lucas knows a lot about Pokemon." Elaine said with a scoff. "Oh, right..." Barry scratched his head with embarrassment and looked at the two hands interlocked together. The trio could be said to have a mature mindset.
Lucas, being the son of a researcher, had the expectations to follow the same path. As for Elaine, even though her dad was in the same field, her father expected much less. Though she somehow was extremely mature.
The two boys agreed that she's the scariest out of the three of them, as one reason was she held a lot of knowledge that they didn't even know of.
They couldn't figure out how she knew so much about Pokemon, and her crazy ideas made the two think she'd become a monstrous trainer. Lucas held a lot of respect for her, as he couldn't remember a lot of things about some Pokemon. There were just too many of them.
Barry's father was a Frontier Brain and sometimes he would be away from home for a long time. The weight Barry held on his shoulder is far bigger than the other two, as people expected him to become a trainer that surpassed or equal to his father. This made Barry hold complicated feelings towards him.
The three barely had any fights and resolved situations perfectly. Even though Barry would yell at the two every time he would lose, or be smug about his father's accomplishments. It held a little playfulness, and they both knew his words held nothing serious and his boasting didn't hold any arrogance towards others in his tone. The trio had the same goal to become the strongest trainer.
Lucas noticed Barry's odd gaze and finally realized he didn't let go of Elaine's hand.
"Sorry…" he said with embarrassment. "It's alright, I don't mind." Her warm smile and words caused Lucas' face to become a little red.
Barry felt a weird atmosphere going on, but ignored it; he focused on coming up with ideas for games the three can play.
The trio played a normal game of tag, hide and seek, and the first to spot a Pokemon. They played together till sunset, and while bidding farewell Barry suddenly yelled out, "Why don't we have a sleepover!" Lucas and Elaine became excited about the idea, and the three rushed home to tell their parents.
Barry wanted to sleep over at Lucas' place because they would rarely go to his home. Lucas lived in Sandgem Town while Elaine and Barry lived in Twinleaf Town; Since two out the three lived in the same Town this made Lucas visit them instead of the other way around. Their hangout area was also at Lake Verity, and Twinleaf Town was closer.
"Haha, see I told you we'd become family one day!" A man in a lab coat talked to Elaine's father, who was currently in a bad mood. The two men conversed while Lucas' grandpa watched the four children with a peaceful state of mind. He smiled at the little girl who seemed to be an excellent candidate to become his granddaughter-in-law.
"These are big brother's friends?" A little girl stared at Barry and Elaine for a while and lost interest. Which left both of them to feel a little sad inside. It was their first time meeting Lucas' sister since every time they came, she would be in school.
Once they mentioned stories about Lucas, she'd listen with a lot of excitement. Barry and Elaine realized Lucas' sister held her older brother as her idol, and if they did something remotely similar to him, she'd get a little too excited and start asking a lot of questions.
"Did you brainwash your sister?" Barry straightforwardly asked. Which earned him a smack to the back of his head by Elaine. Lucas winced as he saw the scene of Elaine berating Barry that was laying on the ground with fear.
Lucas' sister saw her grandpa's wide grin, as he continued to watch the trio. She quickly lost interest, as she shrugged her shoulders and went into her room to sleep.
The trio went upstairs to Lucas's room to play on his Wii. "You can do that!? No fair, you cheated!" yelled Barry. It was his fifth time losing to Lucas while Elaine just watched; she had no interest in the games the two were playing.
With Barry's consistent yelling, she quickly got irritated and threw a pillow at him. "Hey!" He yelled again. The situation escalated into a pillow fight, leaving Barry tired from being bullied by his best friends. He laid on the ground exhausted, as Elaine had a grin on her face.
"Kids, it's time to sleep." Lucas' grandpa said softly. With compliance, the three were in futons and the lights were out. The moonlight seeped through the windows, making the room visible.
Elaine was in the middle of the two, and Barry kept kicking her in his sleep. Leading her not being able to sleep at all.
She sat up and looked at Lucas, whose eyes were open this whole time. His cheeks were red as he stared at her. "Can't sleep?" He whispered. She nodded, and he got up and took her hand.
"I'll show you something." His smile held a little mischief as he looked excited. With little curiosity, she complied.
The two silently walked downstairs and before they reached the door; she stubbed her toe on a table placed against the wall. "Ow-" her scream muffled as Lucas' hand covered her mouth. After a few minutes of standing still and not hearing anything, the two exited the house and ran.
The two made their way to the shores of Route 219. She heard bellowing, but it wasn't horrible to listen to. The noise came from Politoed that sat on a rock.
There were different water Pokemon with their heads poking out of the surface of the ocean, and the trees had a few Pokemon listening to it. Politoed noticed the two kids and did nothing at all.
In fact, Politoed was happy to get a bigger audience. They sat on the sand listening to Politoed singing, their shoulders brushed against each other and they could clearly feel the heat from their intertwined hands because of the chilly night.
Their bodies unconsciously got closer as the heat emitted from each other was comforting. They didn't expect to fall asleep so easily. A few feet away was Lucas' father sighing. "I fear that man would kill my son if he were to find out." He felt worried for his son's future. He picked them up and carried them back to their beds.
On the day Elaine turned ten, she received a Pokemon egg from her father. A few months prior, her father mentioned going to the Johto Region to talk to Professor Elm.
That day she was excited about sleeping over at Lucas' home while he'd be away. It irritated Barry when she mentioned it to him and joined in as well when he begged his mom.
Elaine took great care of the egg and didn't bother to play with her best friends. She'd occasionally watch them play hide and seek or tag. The two boys were interested in the Pokemon egg at first before they lost their patience when it wasn't hatching at all.
After a month passed, the egg hatched. Sentret's fur was different compared to a normal one. The stripes on its bushy tail and long ears were a light shade of orange-ish light brown instead of a dark brown. Custard yellow fur covers most of Sentret's round body, and reaches towards its wide arms and small feet. The ring on its belly is a bright white.
Her face didn't express any confusion. "Would you like to accompany me on my journey?" She held out a Pokeball, and she was trembling from excitement.
Sentret looked at Elaine with its beady black eyes, and its small mouth curled into a smile. Immediately it tapped the Pokeball with its tail and went inside. With three consecutive wiggles, she caught Sentret.
"Come on out!" Throwing the Pokeball, Sentret materialized and held itself up with its tail. "Tret!" She embraced Sentret in her arms and ran out of the house to Professor Rowan's lab to look for her father.

A/N:
Some may be confused and might have a question, she's 10 and has Sentret now, will her journey start now? The answer is… in the next chapter~
This FF is a combination of games and anime; which also includes Pokemon Evolutions (Series) and Movies. One reason is… Barry's badges in the anime and how there are three different badges that are unknown. However, in Evolutions, he has all 8 badges the player gets in the game.
I'm writing this FF for fun and updates won't have a schedule as I'm working on other things…
