Chapter 1. A New Start..

As Yuno stepped into Class-C, he could feel the eyes of his new classmates boring into him. He tried to keep his composure as the teacher introduced him, but his nerves were getting the better of him.

"Class, this is our new transfer student, Yuno Agarami," the teacher said, gesturing towards Yuno.

Yuno took a deep breath and stepped forward. "Hi, my name is Yuno Agarami. Nice to meet you all."

There were a few murmurs of greeting, but most of the class remained silent, sizing him up.

"Thank you, Yuno. Please take a seat at the back," the teacher said, motioning towards an empty desk.

Yuno made his way to the back of the room, feeling the weight of his new classmates' gazes on him. He sat down and tried to blend in with the background, but he couldn't help noticing a girl sitting next to him.

Her name was Yayakama Kiri, she had long silver hair and bright green eyes. Yuno glanced at her, and she caught his gaze, a mischievous smile on her lips.

"Hey, new guy," she said, leaning towards him. "Are you trying to hit on me?"

Yuno rolled his eyes and sighed. "In your dreams," he muttered under his breath.

Kiri laughed, and Yuno couldn't help feeling a little more at ease.

Over the next few classes, Yuno found himself seated next to Kiri again. She seemed friendly enough, and her bubbly personality was infectious. As the class went on, Kiri leaned over and whispered to him.

"So, new guy, why'd you transfer to this school?"

Yuno tensed up at the question, his memories of Ayami flooding back. "I don't really want to talk about it," he said, hoping to shut down the conversation.

But Kiri was persistent. "Come on, don't be so shy. Maybe I can help you out."

Yuno considered her offer, but he wasn't sure he was ready to open up to a complete stranger. Before he could say anything, Kiri changed the subject.

"Hey, have you decided where to eat lunch yet?"

Yuno shook his head. "Not really. I'm still trying to figure out where everything is."

"Well, I know a great spot just a few blocks away. Want to come with me?"

Yuno hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Sure. That sounds good."

But just as they were making plans, the teacher overheard them and scolded them both.

"Miss Yayakama, Mr. Agarami, are you two socializing during class time?" the teacher said sternly.

Kiri quickly sat back in her seat, her cheeks flushing. "Sorry, sensei. We were just talking about the school."

The teacher gave them a disapproving look, then continued with the lesson. Yuno sighed.

The bell rang and it was lunch time, Yuno and Kiri walked out of the school building together, chatting about their shared interests. As they made their way towards the stairs, a guy suddenly stumbled in front of them, spilling his drink all over himself.

Yuno quickly stood up to help the guy, introducing himself and Kiri as he did so. The guy, whose name was Takagami Hiro, explained that he was running late for track practice and thanked Yuno for his help.

As Hiro jogged off towards the field, Kiri turned to Yuno with a smile. "Look at you, your like a friend magnet," she said.

Yuno smiled back, feeling a little more at ease. Classes ended, he gathered his things and prepared to head home, but Kiri suddenly appeared behind him and whispered in his ear, causing him to jump.

"Scared you, didn't I?" Kiri giggled.

Yuno rolled his eyes but couldn't help but smile. "Yeah, yeah," he admitted.

Kiri grinned. "So, do you want to walk home with me? I know a shortcut through the park."

Yuno hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Sure."

As they walked, Yuno found himself feeling more comfortable around Kiri. She was funny and outgoing, and she seemed genuinely interested in getting to know him better.

They continued to chat and laugh, enjoying each other's company. Yuno was surprised by how easy it was to talk to Kiri, and he found himself opening up to her about things he had never shared with anyone else.

As they reached Kiri's house, she turned to Yuno with a smile. "Thanks for walking me home," she said.

Yuno smiled back. "No problem. Thanks for showing me the shortcut."

Kiri hesitated for a moment, then spoke up. "Hey, Yuno. I know you don't like talking about why you transferred schools, but if you ever need someone to talk to, I'm here for you."

Yuno was touched by Kiri's offer, and he nodded gratefully. "Thanks, Kiri. I appreciate it."

Kiri smiled. "Anytime. Well, I'll see you tomorrow, okay?"

Yuno nodded, and Kiri waved goodbye as she walked into her house. Yuno stood there for a moment, feeling grateful for the unexpected friendship he had found with Kiri.

As he continued on his way home, he couldn't help but think about Ayami, his ex-girlfriend who had left him without a word. He wondered if he would ever be able to move on from her and start fresh in this new school. But for now, he was content to have found a new friend in Kiri.
