The Magician-Reversed

Dominique becomes immersed in the pages, the penmanship becomes everything to him in the next days, he wouldn't bother to come out of the room.

He would fall asleep with it on his bed, something was pulling him inside of the tome beckoning him; "Dominique, can we take tea together sometime soon?"

Gavyn would shout from outside the door, he finally decides to come out and spend time with him.

At the table just them two before everyone else rises from their slumber, it is mostly quietness; they can't seem to find much to talk about.

Long pauses in their conversation have Gavyn worried, "Look...Gavyn, I am happy for you."

Gavyn shoots up in his seat, "You mean, you really are okay with me being with Sophie?"

"Of course I am, we're both adults."

"I have felt so guilty about it since the time you learned."

"Don't think anything of it."

"Wonderful, I talked to Elijah...he is allowing me to turn her to vampire!"

"Sophie is turning to a vampire?" Dominique asks, "She must be excited!"

"She is and then we will be married, Lady Trinity is helping her find a suitable gown even!"

"Does the whole compound know?"

"Of course they all know!"

"Well then..." Dominique replies fishing out a vial of blood to give Gavyn, "Let's toast."

They clank their vials downing them together, "I wish you eternal love Master Gavyn, I shall depart."

He makes his way back to his bedroom to notice someone sitting on his bed, a woman with long white flowing hair, a black crown sits on her head while her gown flows to the floor.

"Did I miss something?" Dominique asks pointing at the mysterious woman changing positions on his bed, she merely only smiles back at him before getting up.

She wraps her arms around his shoulders, "I sense a twinge of jealousy in the air."

"I should be happy for Gavyn..."

"But you aren't Dominique..."

"He deserves to be happy though."Dominique states, "He is one of my best friends and instead I am pouting like a child!"

"I can help you see it a different way..."She says taking hold of the book to bring out a vial, she hands it to him, he scrutinizes it.

"What is it?"

"Your ticket to fame in this dingy compound."

"What do I do with it? Who are you anyway?"

She points to the book, "I am your entity, give me your blood and I will always be yours."

Dominique hesitates before pricking his finger, she clutches it softly licking it seductively causing his face to redden almost dropping the vial.

"So if I give Gavyn this vial all my problems will be solved?"

"Please call me Avic...you will get your power, you will most importantly get the girl."

"I will be back then."Dominique answers, she grabs his arm, "What's wrong?"

"You need to serve it in his daily tea...don't just hand it to him."

"Gotcha..."He replies unsure if what he is doing is right, he turns to the door to look back only to find Avic is gone.

The next day he would call Gavyn for tea, he would almost clumsily add the potion to his drink when he looks away before he would consume the rest of it.

He felt nervous and anxious the rest of the day feeling he did something wrong, he kept a close eye on Gavyn to make sure he was fine.

Just when he thought nothing was wrong, a scream could be heard down the hall; Sophia and Trinity were hunched over, Dominique would race down to see what was the matter.

Sophia was in tears, "He just collapsed Dominique!"

Dominique helped Sophia by helping to send him to his room to watch her tuck him, his hands shook and his body trembled, "Sophia..."

"I can't turn to a vampire without him..."

"You won't I promise! I will help find a solution!"

Trinity only stood in the doorway as Sophia cried into his blanket, the next couple of days they observed the fact he was not going to wake up.

His body not once moving or twitching, Sophia would come into the room daily wishing to only greet him, Dominique knew without a doubt the potion Avic gave him only hurt Gavyn.

Their lives were at a standstill, he felt mad at himself as the days went by, he didn't know how to contact Avic to reverse the spell.

He stood in his room only watching the book on his bed wishing more than anything he could make Sophia smile again.
