Walking back to the room holding Alex, Doctor Silas quickly spots Christian strolling through the halls, "Devil...it was fated..."Silas explains.

The look of defeat hung high on his face, "I am nor human nor vampire at this point..."

Steel hears talking out in the hallway, everyone else follows behind tired.

"Doctor Carol..." Doctor Silas says casually, "I wondered where you were hiding."

"How is your daughter?" Carol replies, Doctor Silas only smiles back pushing a cigarette out of his pocket, pulling a small matchbox out of his other pocket he swipes the match against the box lighting it; he lets the match burn out tossing it to the floor.

"She is fine...she is managing some high profile work now."

Carol says nothing more glancing over at Silas, "I eventually want to talk to you."

"Is it for the patent?"

"No, but I saw that..." Silas responds handing a slip of paper to Carol ambling over to Christian lifting his eyelids noting his eye change.

"You need to go home...he needs treatment."

"You don't say..." Doctor Carol replies with a glare.

"Clarence warm the car up!" Steel says tossing him the keys, Shimon comes from a completely different room trudging out looking around.

"The whole place is deserted, Edwin literally disappeared." Shimon declares curiously, he pinpoints Alex in Christian's arms running over where he strokes his face.

"Do you know him?" Christian questions unsure how to gauge this new face.

"I am sorry kid...can I come with you?" Shimon asks.

"Sure, I don't see the problem with that." Christian replies happily.

"Devil?" Silas shouts at him from across the room, Christian gawks over.

"Yes?"

"Remember you can never go back home now..." Doctor Silas speaks slowly, the room seems to contort, misshapen, and deform bending out of place.

He becomes nervous, all around him the sound of chattering dampens to a halt as though he was alone in the room; the words were so sharp he thought he has been hit with an arrow or hatchet, "Devil...Devil...can you hear me?" Silas inquires.

Steel and Carol tug and push on Christian, he turns his head chewing the top of his lip before answering, "I am...fine, I am going to go to the car..."

That night Alex has been left in the care of Doctor Carol, Christian was given a complete room far from the medical bay; his door opens to Chara and Quinn.

"Christian or is the Devil?" Chara wonders out loud.

"The Devil..." Quinn points out jerking on his pants, he bends down to pat her head, smiling back warmly.

"I am going to the Witch of the Mountain Chara."

"I thought you would be happy to be taking that body over though?"

He grinds his teeth at the thought of taking Christian's body over, moving his hands up causes them to shake, "Take it easy..." Chara answers patting his hand.

"How can I take it easy?"

Quinn plops to the ground, "Like this..."

Christian starts to laugh at how silly Quinn is being, she would do it multiple times getting up and planting herself on the ground, "Relaxing should be easy for Devil."

"But you are lucky you were born a demon."

"I was a lapdog to an ungrateful boss who played with vampires..."

"Maybe I shouldn't have said..." Christian muttered to himself.

He hears a knock on the door, "Come in!" Chara responds cheerfully.

"Doctor Carol..." Christian says disheartened, "How is Alex?"

Carol takes a seat beside Christian, "Chara...Quinn, can you leave please?"

They obey without further argument, "Devil...I need you to be calm as possible."

He could only look down anguished on behalf of Christian's heart beating inside of him, "He is okay...right?"

"Shimon is sitting with him as we speak, you can visit later if you wish...but do you know what shattering is Devil?"

"I do...but it depends on the individual..."

"He remembers no one not even himself..."

"Alice took his memories with him then I see...I want to see him." Christian replies pushing off the bed accompanying Carol past the metal gates into a cross-section where the rooms are, "Shimon, are you okay?"

"I made him go back to sleep, he seemed very tired still..."

"I see...tomorrow he will sleep in a guest room if you care to watch him."

"He can't be alone anymore, he literally needs guidance." Shimon spouts passionately lacing his fingers together almost as though he could be religious.

"I thought you didn't care for him that way Shimon." Carol questions confused.

"Maybe this time I can be a better master..."

"Master? You are his master?" Christian yells, "Seriously, isn't it too late?"

"He needs help to regain slowly and most likely build a new life...going after Alice would not be the best idea Devil."

"Alice is also a victim, do you not think she is worth fighting for?" Christian argues.

"Her aura was too dangerous, you couldn't even stop the shattering...I doubt it."

"I will save them both..." Christian says turning away from Shimon, he pulls the sword from its sheath directing it at the Devil.

"You need to learn when it's time to give up."

"You need to see there is light outside the coffin old man..."
