The Curious Competition of Unfortunate Demises

Three ghosts found themselves strolling through the streets one day when they encountered God. They pleaded with God, sharing their tragic stories and hoping for a place in heaven. However, God explained that heaven was overcrowded and offered just one remaining spot. To determine who would be granted entry, God proposed a competition: the one with the most tragic death would be chosen. The first ghost began with a tale of being a hardworking janitor, facing a perilous accident while cleaning windows on the 30th floor. The ghost's life hung by a thread, but he was miraculously saved when he grabbed a balcony railing on the 13th floor. His relief was short-lived as he was pushed off again, only to be saved by a tent, before a refrigerator from above crushed him. The second ghost shared his story, describing life as an office worker with a beautiful yet unfaithful wife. He suffered from a minor heart condition and, one day, forgot his medication. Returning home to find his wife in a disheveled state, he was convinced she was unfaithful. After searching the house, he found two hands clinging to the balcony railing, mistaking them for his wife's lover. He yanked those hands, but the lover was saved by a tent. Desperate to kill him, the ghost threw a refrigerator off the balcony, finally succeeding. Unfortunately, his laughter at the victory triggered a heart attack, and he died too. The third ghost, a small-time crook, told his tale of being caught at his female friend's house just after an intimate encounter when her husband returned unexpectedly. In a frantic attempt to hide, he eventually sought refuge in their oversized refrigerator. The husband discovered him and unceremoniously hurled the refrigerator off the 13th floor. In the end, the refrigerator, along with the third ghost, met a tragic demise.
