An Unexpected Encounter

One day, a woman was returning to her apartment when she brushed past a man at the entrance. Though she found the man somewhat intriguing, she didn't dwell on it and continued on her way. It wasn't long before she saw news on TV about a murder that had occurred in her apartment building.

After some time had passed, a detective came to her door to inquire whether she had seen anyone suspicious who might be related to the crime. In that moment, the woman recalled the man she had encountered at the entrance but couldn't quite remember enough to make a positive identification. She assumed it was unlikely to be relevant and didn't mention the encounter.

Not long after, she saw news on TV about the arrest of the murderer. To her shock, the face of the arrested man on TV was none other than the detective who had come to her door inquiring about the case.
