A Seed of Obsession

"He seems to be pretty injured and yet walking fine. And are you sure you smelled a dragon's scent on both of them?"

The petite silvered hair girl nodded her head, while continually nibbling on her cookie.

Since her meeting with the silver-haired woman, who she mistakes first as her aunt, she felt a load of stress leaving her shoulder. But at the same time, hearing Konoko, she felt stress pile up slowly.

'Wa! Why can't everything be perfect?!' Rias complained in her mind, feeling a headache racing her forehead.

Just a day ago, she traded a mutated piece, but now finding that he is alive, she was embarrassed to ask for it back. After all, a mutated chess piece is no small thing. But knowing Sona, she trusted her that she will return it by herself, without the need to embarrass herself more.

Glancing to her right, she saw her crush giggling perversely over his phone. Looking at him only increased her frustration. Not only he started a bad relationship with a possible unknown dragon, but she also felt herself growing frustrated every day because of him. That idiot, no matter how much she tried to rile him, hadn't even kissed her since the last time.

"Here, President." Akeno glancing at the growling Rias, inwardly chuckled as she handed her some tea to relax.

"Thank you, Akeno." Taking a sip of Akeno's tea always calmed her down. Especially during that time when her obedient Knight, Kiba, unusually disappeared today.

"Do you think we should meet them now, Akeno? Koneko said the aura around Fukumoto has already reached the Middle-Class level. It only has been a day, and at this speed, it won't be long for he to reach High-class. Without a mutated piece, it would be im-" Rias froze. It is unknown, but Kaida is having the best day of his life, roaming around with Dany.

It is his first time traveling outside his home with someone of his age, so he had no idea what to expect. He felt like his heart was beating faster, and his face flushed as he walked with Dany. He looked at his surroundings and took note of every detail. He noticed how everything in his surroundings seemed to be perfectly symmetrical and orderly, from the buildings and roads to the people and vehicles on the road.

Women walking on the streets made him wonder what their jobs were and where did they live. Men working on the construction site made him think of how strong they were compared to him. There were children playing on the street, he wanted to join them, but he remembered his manners and stopped himself from doing so.

Everything was so perfect.

Dany smiled at Kaida. He couldn't help but smile back and return the gesture. Dany wore a red dress today, and her platinum-blonde hair flowed in the wind. He has a sudden urge to touch her hair and run his fingers through it. He was surprised to realize that he was starting to like her a lot. He wasn't expecting this kind of attraction toward another human being, especially when he had just met two days back.

They continued on their walk as they talked about anything and everything. They went on talking for hours until they reached the end of the road.

"This place is amazing!" He exclaimed, and Dany's eyes lit up in delight.

She turned to Kaida with a warm smile on her face, "You like it here, too?"

Kaida nodded his head enthusiastically, "Yes! It is the most beautiful place I've ever seen!"

They sat on the bench on the edge of the cliff, overlooking the city below. It was dark out now, but still, the city was brightly illuminated by the lights. It looked so majestic, the moonlight reflected off the water as it hit the shoreline. It was beautiful, that is the reason why he took her here. After all, she lived in a medieval world, and what she has seen is barely the tip of the iceberg.

"Do you like the view, Dany?" Kaida softly asked, but not hearing any response, he turned to see her glimmering lilac eyes gazing up on the night city. Just looking at her perfect face, he was unable to move, frozen into a trance-like state. Her soft lips, her lovely cheeks, her slender neck, her silver locks flowing on the breeze—all these things came to mind, making him shiver.

He had never felt this way with any other girls, but then again, Dany is different from the rest. He can tell that she has a pure soul that hasn't been corrupted yet by this world. He could also tell that she has a deep connection with nature, and her love for animals is proof enough of it.

Yet he can also tell that she has seen more than him. The look in her eyes once in a while tells him that she has seen the dark side of the world. The fact that she can stand there calmly and bravely despite knowing all of that shows the strength of her spirit. That makes her even more special than anyone else and is why he had a lot of respect for her.

"Kaida..." Dany finally spoke softly, her voice carrying the warmth of kindness, "Thank you for me such a beautiful thing. I am glad to have met you."

Kaida blinked his eyes and finally started grinding ear to ear. Pointing behind him he said, "You see that large manor over there? I was thinking of buying that. What do you think of the view now you have seen it?"

"Oh yes, the view is much better now that you showed me. This place is absolutely beautiful. It is the perfect setting for our future home. You should buy it. I'll move in with you after marriage~" Dany winked, giving him a teasing smile.

Kaida laughed nervously, "Ahahaha... Yeah right. Like hell, I'm going to marry a girl who doesn't know how to cook. You'd be eating rice every day." He shook his head and tried to keep the mood light-hearted with a joke.

"Hump!" Danny puffed her cheeks, showing her cute pink tongue

Soon they both started laughing, and he knew in his heart that the brainwashing he was planning on doing towards the manor's owner is going to be worth it seeing her smile in such a beautiful way. And it's not like he is robbing him, he is merely 'suggesting' to sell the house.

"What are we doing tomorrow, Dany? Do you want to go shopping? Or maybe visit some tourist attractions around the city?" Kaida asked.

"Mhm. Let's start with a tour around the city tomorrow. It will give us something to talk about when we meet others. If I recall correctly, there's a shrine nearby, right? I heard it has a beautiful shrine maiden serving there~"

Kaida frowned his brows; he didn't like the way she answered his question. A woman who isn't jealous means she doesn't need to be jealous. Does that mean she wasn't interested in him like he thought (hoped) she would?

"That just makes me not want to go there. It could be like a scam, trying to attract tourists with a beautiful 'Shrine maiden' whereas in reality, they are nothing more than prostitutes!"

Dany chuckled, "I don't know if I can say the same for others, but I wouldn't worry. I did my research and learned the shrine maiden owns the shrine, as did her family before. It's 'legit.'"

Kaida sighed and shrugged, "If you say so."

"Hey, Kai?" Dany weirdly asked.

"Hmm?" Kaida responded, turning to her with his blue eyes.

"Can I take a walk around alone? I want to explore the city and get a feel of what it's like. Since you are leaving tonight, how about I meet you back in the morning?" She asked curiously, and for some odd reason, her tone of voice was a bit different from her usual self, as though she was curious and slightly excited.

Kaida blinked, "Uh, sure. But do be careful. I am still new to our bond, so I won't be able to come in time if you get attacked. So don't forget to call through the bond, like you did yesterday."

"Okay." She agreed with him and stood up, "See you later, Kaida. Be safe!"

Kaida smiled and waved, "Have fun, Dany!"

She returned his wave and disappeared into the dark forest that surrounded them. He watched her until she vanished completely into the darkness and then turned to the sky and thought, 'System. Send me back to the Elden Ring.'

"You can come out now." A chilling voice echoed through the silent forest.

"Well, well, well. The weak human escaped but left out their little weakling. What a shame..."

Dany's eyes narrowed seeing a young girl the same age as her, gliding in the air with her black feathered wings, wearing... extravagant clothes.

The girl wore black strap-like objects around and under her breasts, a thong-like piece held around her hips by three thin straps, gloves that ran up her arms with small lengths of chain hanging from them, shoulder guard-like objects on her shoulders with three large spikes sprouting from her right shoulder, and black thigh-high heel boots.

Her purple eyes were beautiful but not as beautiful as her master's glowing purple eyes. Her hair was long and silky, and it complemented the rest of her outfit. She also wore a cross-shaped necklace that glistened in the moonlight on her chest. Her skin was pale white, and her scarlet lips and black eye shadow were the only colors on her body. Her hands were also shielded by black leather gloves.

"Was it you who hurt my master?" Dany asked with flaring now turned red eyes; her pupils were even slitted.

"It's nice to finally meet someone who can tell me apart from my twin sister. The one who's been running the show for years." The girl sneered.

"So, why did you attack him?"

"Because I can. But because you are going to die, I can tell you. I am hunting sacred gear holders. You can thank your weak 'master' fo- AAAAhhhh" The women weren't able to finish when all of a sudden, she started to combust in flames.

*Snap*

Dany snapped her finger, which immediately intensified the flames around the woman as she was willing and wailing like a pig on the ground.

"Ooooohhhhh! That hurts!" The woman yelled as she was being incinerated.

"How dare you!"

*Snap*

"A worthless trash, hurt MY master?!"

*Snap*

"You shall die! Burn for your sins!!" Dany spat fire at the woman as the woman screamed in agony, and her body started to burn.

*Snap*

Dany continued snapping her fingers, and the woman was now charred blackened bones that lay in the middle of the forest, her ashes scattered everywhere.

What looked like a bonfire was in the middle of the forest, and with each snap came the agonizing scream of a girl as the fire devoured her body. Dany smiled as the flames consumed her opponent and turned her to ash.

"I will kill anyone who touches my master!!!" Dany vowed in anger as she glared at the woman's remains, which were now blown away by the wind. She took a deep breath and calmed herself as the woman's remains disappeared. She was a bit disappointed that her flames were too strong to let the girl suffer more.

As soon as a small bright ball hovered over the charred ground, Dany raised her hand, gripping the orb in her hand. She stared at the now blackened orb for a moment and said, "You will serve well for my master. That will be your punishment!"

As Dany turned her head, her eyes met a tree where a few leaves fell from it. With a bone-chilling tone, she said, "Make sure to let your King remember that."
