genesis 1

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.

In the misty clouds of heaven, in the first forms that make up the enchanting sight sat a grand marble building, its golden gilded column and cornices reflecting the light that existed everywhere in heaven. For in this grand place not one shade or shadow loom in the open.

This is the grand chapel that birthed the angels, the הקן של המלאך (nido angeli/ nest of the angels). Or as later it would be called the hatchery.

Inside the hatchery, stood a man, GOD, his face a warm even tan, speckled with light gray hair and beard. His eyes, purest white, peered around the room he had created, soft pillows and cloths littered and layered around the grand chamber, small pillars barely reaching the height of his knees were scattered around the room. The roof, a comforting darkness of swirling purples and blues.

"It is time littles ones, come my children…" With a voice soothing as warm mother milk to a babe, with an airy indescribable quality, GOD slowly raised his hand as faint lights appeared around the room, each resting upon a pedestal.

These lights grew and twisted, flipped and flowed, danced and sung. All to some hidden song, they changed, they became. The lights that were them, slowly stilled as cocoons of white as pure as GOD's eyes formed around them.

And GOD smiled, as he saw the light was good.

Within the room now sat thirteen eggs, GOD slowly walked forward towards two eggs that sat side by side, knowing who sat before him he gently caressed the shells.

"You will be first my sons" and upon these words the shells began to dissolve, at near even pace. Yet in the end the one on the left bore the world witness to the child within first, mere fractions of a moment early.

As the glow of light faded, before GOD were two small children, one with a crowning hair of silver, the other gold. The former's eyes bore the warmth and passion GOD knew and felt from the beginning of his existence. The latter's pools of green bearing aspects of courage, resilience and flames.

"Welcome, my sons"

The two children gazed upon GOD in awe and love, as they made to speak, all that came was awkward chirping, like that of a baby chick. The boys coughed as they tried to continue talking but lacked breath.

"Breathe boys, inhale the air, let it fill your lunges." GOD spoke in a gentle reminding tone, as if they had forgotten a simple fact.

The two boys dramatically started opening their mouths as wide as they could, trying to gulp down as much air as they could, their cheeks bulging as they tried to keep the air inside.

"Now if you breathe in and hold it, you will lose your breath all the same, but if you breathe out it will come back to you again and again." GOD lightly chastised with faint mirth crossing his face only to quickly fade.

The boys quickly learned, now able to stay calm they returned their gaze back to GOD. He reached down his hands and picked up both boys in his arms, holding them by his side.

The boys giggled as they moved in to cuddle their father, pushing their bodies as close as they could into him.

After a few moments GOD spoke, "I believe it is time you both learned your names, don't you think?" the speed and force at which the children nodded would have shocked any but GOD, who turned his gaze to the silver haired angel, "You are the first, the oldest, you will be my right hand. You are Samael, tho be Helel, the lightbringer, the dawnstar. The angel of light, passion and the guide. And this is your seat upon my heaven." in the roof above, a grand star appeared, the first and brightest. Upon the earth primal and foreign the sky split as a new star was birthed.

Samael turned his gaze to the star, an intimate connection forged between them.

"And you are my Second, you will be my left hand. You are Michael, tho art a great prince, the chief general of heaven. The angel of fire, courage and endurance, you will uphold the virtue of faith. And this is your seat upon my heaven." again in the roof above, a grand star appeared, dimmer than that of the dawnstar but hot, burning and ever enduring, its brilliance matching it with qualities all its own.

Michael turned his gaze to the stars, the same intimate connection was forged for him as well.

They both saw the light, and knew it to be good.

Having experienced such a wondrous moment together, the boys wished to witness more. They wished to watch and look over their siblings, engraving the sight of each of their individualities into their mind. GOD allowed this, his warm smile never fading.

The first to come were their new sisters, Gabriel and Raphael.

Gabriel, the angel of water, compassion and children. Her tiny frame barely holding back the bubbling innocent love she seemed to radiate as she was granted a seat upon the heavens, its light cool and calming, seeming to care for the soul with an innocent gentleness. Her golden hair and pale blue eyes seem to understand others greater than they understood themselves. She was to uphold the virtue of chastity.

Raphael, the angel of Air, Mind and Spirit. She bore hair of green, with a mind that seemed to twist and turn in ways the rest could not understand, it flowing from one thought to the next. Leading her to seem unfocused on the world around her, yet she held an intellect few could ever match even from her first day. Her seat upon heaven glowed with all the mystery and essence of the spirit, etherious and paradoxical. She was to uphold the virtue of temperance.

Then came Uriel and Baraqiel, their brothers.

Uriel, the angel of Earth, resilience and body. His figure even at this young age dwarfs the other by a half, his dark brown hair and darker still eyes, show a strength to hold no matter the situation, to always push forward. His virtue was patience. And his seat upon the heavens was a star that was dimmer than the rest yet dwarfed them all in size. Its essence shone with an untold strength and hidden force and none of them would underestimate it.

Baraqiel, the angel of lightning, storm and speed. The boy they could tell would be fun, he was energetic beyond even them, from the moment he hatched, moving about never stopping. His virtue was charity. His seat upon heaven matched him perfectly as well, a forever changing star that radiated a vibrant electric blue, pulsing with barely restrained energy.
