Selecting Attributes

Erwin's soul hovers dumbly facing the billions of stars, not knowing what should be done.

Usually when a soul enters the [ATTRIBUTE SPACE], their instincts will spread out over the stars. When the instinct's aura syncs with any of the attributes then the souls picks that particular attribute. Other than that the innocent consciousness created during the journey in the river of reincarnation can also pick attributes that they like. Though it may seem reckless, luck always plays a major role in the universe. The naivety of a 3-4 year old shows the true color of the person.

Furthermore some power attributes require special worlds to actually work. For example if a soul picks magic as its power then it needs to get reincarnated in a world rich in mana for it to display the power it has selected. The world the soul will get reincarnated is totally random and again depends on luck.

Usually "picking" an attribute is done by just the soul wanting that attribute. But unfortunately Erwin's soul has no such wants. It just looks at the stars in a daze without a single thought.

[FAILSAFE : RED first part commencing...]

The orb that was submerged in Erwin's soul started to emit a red hue. The structure of the orb made way for what looked like a small screen which scanned all the attribute stars.

[Affinity attribute selected : TIME]

[Affinity attribute selected : TECHNOLOGY]

[Affinity attribute selected : COOKING]

[Power attribute selected : MAGIC]

[Power attribute selected : LONGEVITY]

[Power attribute selected : EDITIC MEMORY]

[Power attribute selected : CRITICAL THINKING]

[Power attribute selected : STEEL BODY]

[ Characteristic attribute selected : DIABOLICALLY EVIL]

The selected attribute stars, transformed into a streak of light and got stored in the orb.

These attributes were predefined by Erwin so that the next person will be able to grow whatever the type of world he reincarnates in. They were carefully handpicked so that the adaptability of the person is very high.

Well expect for cooking attribute. That was selected because Erwin was a foodie and one of his biggest regrets was that no one was able cook food perfectly to match his exquisite taste buds. He had killed worlds over their sub-par level of cooking.

The diabolically evil attribute is selected because Erwin believes a cunning evil man can survive in any place. A lack of moral baseline will make a person grow faster. The judgements one would make will not take into account the emotions of anyone else but oneself. Furthermore he doesn't consider himself evil, he is just apathetic to a level where nothing matters to him but his goal. This is usually misconstrued as evil. Sadly the characterstic attribute of APATHY kills one's motivation towards a goal. The fire in them dies and indifference takes its place. Hence, Erwin felt being evil is the closest alternative.

After the whole selection of attributes by the orb the space became quiet again. The expected reincarnation did not happen. The space seems to be still waiting for the soul yo make his selection. Erwin's soul started to move around without a direction.

The selection of attribute is counted by the number of thoughts produced by the soul or the instinct. But interestingly the attributes selected by the orb used a technological mechanism rather than the telepathic mechanism. Hence the attribute space was still waiting for the selection to complete.

As the soul start to move around, it got closer to the stars present in the attribute space. The soul started to swim around the stars in an haphazard manner without having any goal.

After what may have been years or just an hour, the soul bumped onto a star. Having bumped for the first time on any object it tried to move through it. This action was considered as a "thought" which was aimed at an attribute. Hence the soul recieved the attribute and the star turned into a white light and melded into the soul.

After feeling the object in front of it vanish, the soul started to move again randomly After sometime it again bumped into an attribute.

No one knows how long the soul has been in the attribute space, but atleast it was closer to leaving. The soul had made it a small game to push through these attribute stars and everytime it does, it hears a small melody. After 'going through' the seven attribute stars the soul stops and looks around. It soon finds a cluster of three attributes that are close together and it decided to speed towards them and 'push through' all three of them at the same time. But sadly just the thought of rushing towards them was considered as selecting them and all three attributes were selected.

The attribute space atlast decided that the soul has selected all 10 attributes and started the process of reincarnating the soul.

The temporary consciousness which had wanted 'push through' the three attribute star was dumbfounded for a minute before it saw the stars turn into white light and meld onto itself. It started feeling a lingering dissatisfaction as it was not able to actually 'push through'. But fortunately this was not long lived because the attribute space snuffed out the temporary consciousness and sent the soul for reincarnation.
