Kim Seijin's gaze locked onto the demon woman standing before him, her crimson eyes gleaming with a cruel amusement. His heart raced, a cold sweat breaking out along his spine. Panic clawed at his chest, tightening with each breath. This wasn't supposed to happen—she wasn't supposed to be here.
He fought to steady himself, but fear gripped him, an old and familiar dread. Deep inside, the turmoil he had buried for years stirred. His own inner demons—the self-doubt, the guilt, the failures—rose up, threatening to overwhelm him. His mind churned, trying to process the danger before him, but his focus was slipping.
