Beyond a Familiar World

The sensation of the warm water reached up to his body as he felt himself settle until it was resting above his chest.

Sigh.

The fatigue left his body with each and every breath he took, slowly bringing a calm over him.

Slowly, the weight of his eyelids grew as he lifted his head, bringing his gaze up to the soft light above...with it fading and fading...until Darkness.

Snapped out of his daze by the sensation of a stinging cold biting at him, accompanied by the loud rush of a violent wind. As he forced opened his eyes, the surroundings quickly fell away into the great darkness speckled with dim flare-like lights all around him.

Spinning through the air and turning his gaze as his back was beaten by the stinging winds, he managed a glimpse of what was above:

"The sky! No, why am I even outside...wait...I'm falling?"

He wondered while the sound of the rushing wind and cold biting into his flesh fed even more distress into his mind. He tried to voice his thoughts but he found great difficulty in breathing, sending him into a panic...as his body refused to move at his command only his head possessing some dexterity.

He continued to fall while he fought to express his distress, but after only twenty seconds or so, he started to feel the surrounding air fill his lungs, as it did...he frantically grasped his throat and forcing out a strained cough as he took his breaths.

Once his breathing had regulated, he stopped flailing about and wrapped himself in his arms to try and preserve heat, and he continued to fall. With his gaze affixed to the growing sight of the approaching ground, the image of the vast and somewhat alien landscape took hold.

Bright lights had been sprawled about with massive mountains that were accompanied by what looked like floating islands growing large trees and a desert of pink and gold sands to his west also caught his eye when....

Bright flashes of light appear randomly around him.

"They're...people, there are others here too. Was it because of that white light?"

There seemed to be in the same dazed state that He first was before he opened his eyes. He tries to dive faster into his fall in an attempt to reach one of the nearest people.

But before he can reach someone...

Bash!!!

"What the?"

Someone managed to crash into him from above, though they too were still dazed. After knocking into him and flying by, he rolls through the fall to see who it was. Though it was dark, he managed to see her long dark hair fluttering in the wind.

"A girl?"

Feeling less angry at the collision, he now tried to reach her instead.

Just as he managed to grab her hand, she woke up....revealing her glimmering crimson eyes that almost stunned him as soon he noticed them. But just as she woke, he started to notice that the ground was growing closer and closer, faster and faster...until they were mere meters from the ground.

Instinctively, he pulled her in closer to him as he held her tightly and covered her head before....darkness.
