Chapter 21: Dinner Date

“Well, actually, I keep a lot to myself,” Julietta giggled in response to Raine’s question. “I always wait until I am confident about my facts before I spring surprises on my friends,” she explained.

“Now, see what I mean?” Raine asked as they reached a blue vehicle on the side of the road. “They could be doing the exact same thing. Maybe they’re even visiting someone on the other side of the forest.”

“Oh, but they did not leave together,” Julietta explained. “Elliot and I had no idea where Emile was.”

“You should not worry about something that you cannot change,” Raine remarked as he opened the door for Julietta.

“What does that mean?” Julietta asked in confusion.

“Your friends did not arrive yet, but that does not mean that some problem has caught up with them,” Raine remarked as he drove off. “They are probably having fun somewhere. Worrying about them will not make them show up sooner.”

“You almost look sure about that,” Julietta remarked glancing at him sideways.
