Chapter 5: Change of first impression?

After that event I got pretty famous in my new school. Everybody talked about my courage of bunking classes as a new girl. I was good in English cause I really liked reading novels and Shakespeare's plays and comics. In English classes I found out that I'm much better than others. I could talk fluently in English. My classmates were pretty impressed with me. Thankgod English saved my bad reputation.

A week had passed and now it was the time for my Taekwondo competition. Even though it was just to check our progress I was nervous like hell. I was eager to watch Aiko's fight cause everybody bragged about her skills and I haven't seen any of them cause she hardly comes for classes. To my surprise her match was in the beginning only. She knocked down her opponent with just two kicks. There was a loud applaud in the hall and sensei seemed satisfied and proud. A bunch of Aiko's followers came rushing with towels and water bottles. Her moves were really good, I must say. I won my match and later when I was about to go back a hand touched my shoulder from behind and it was Aiko. Conventionally, I got startled by her appearance. "Am I a ghost? Why are you always so surprised whenever you see me?", said Aiko. "Oh! No no, I was just surprised by your sudden appearance, he...hehe...", I said awkwardly. "I was here to tell you that your moves are quiet good. I saw your match today. I also heard you're pretty good in English. I guess I misjudged you", she said. What? She really saw my match? My mind was filled with these thoughts when she suddenly said, "Hey, I'm sorry for that day. I thought you pestered Chiyo to bunk class with you but she told me everything. I also lied to Sensie but Chiyo is my close friend, in fact she is only my real friend so I just wanted to protect her from getting into trouble. I hope you'll understand me", said Aiko nearing her eyes and scratching her head. "No problem. You don't need to apologise. Its not your fault. Anyways I got pretty famous because of you, haha", I said. We talked for a little while and I cleared our misunderstanding of my first day. "You are so different from what I thought about you. I thought you were a total, indisciplined freak. But it turns out the other way. Hey, can you help me with English?", asked Aiko with expectations in her eyes. "Umm, yep, but aren't you already good in your studies?, I said. "I'm good in other subjects but my English is really weak. Please teach me", she begged. What? She's asking me to teach her? But my classmates said she's really mean and I should stay away from her. But after talking to her, I realise she's not as cold as she seemed to be. Omg what should I do? She kept looking at me with expected eyes and again I noticed her long lashes. "YES! Sure, I'll help you", I blurted.
