Chapter Thirteen
One second all was quiet the dark surrounding them like a blanket the next Verenyas high scream tore through her.
"Verenya!" Nesryn screamed, her horse shied away from the shriek and right into a tree neither of them could see in the darkness, Nesryn grunted as her leg was crushed between the horses body and the tree. The sounds of Flynns shouts and the clash of swords reached her ears as a torch flickered to life through the trees not far away. She kicked her horse into a gallop and within seconds reached the small clearing, what she saw made her blood freeze in her veins. A soldier in a familiar uniform was holding a dagger to Verenyas throat as Flynn fought off two more soldiers.
