Those we fight for

(here's how the next few chapters are gonna work! Since there are teams the main focus will be Kaito and Nico but you'll see the different key players fight too, i hope you're ready)

[Outside The Time Nest] 

Nico tore off of Kaito's grip and turned around. "What's your deal?" Nico inquired as to why Kaito was so hasty to die. 

"Risa is my sister, I allowed her to be captured…" Kaito stopped and looked at the ground, balling his hands into fists. " I feel like it's my responsibility to save her" Kaito felt the familiar sting of tears at the corners of his eyes. 

"Whoa hey, its not your fault you know" Nico sighed and rubbed the back of his head with his hand before placing it firmly on Kaito's shoulder. "I once let someone I love get hurt and I thought running away to space would fix that pain, but all it did was hurt me more" Nico looked at Kaito with a mix of pity and understanding.

"Did it get any easier?" Kaito looked into Nico's white eyes trying to find a trace of something, anything. 

"No" Nico replied firmly. "You gotta understand you first gotta forgive yourself before others around you will forgive what you did. Mainly in this case you think your sister hates you for not helping her, but really I bet she's glad it wasn't you who got captured" Nico tightened his grip a bit to get the point across. 

"You really think so?" Kaito's gaze was filled with doubt and uncertainty. "Do you really believe she can forgive me? Kaito broke his gaze with Nico. 

"I know it" Nico smiled and patted Kaito on the back.

[The Dark Demon Realm]

Risa was running around the castle with Fortune Teller Baba in her arms. Alarms were blaring every which way which confused her sense of direction. "Dammit I'm lost…" Risa breathed out, she was lost and had nowhere to go. 

"Isn't this just fun?" Towa giggled and landed behind Risa. "Trying to escape are we?" Towa lifted up her hand and dark black chains wrapped around Risa holding her in place. 

"You Monster! What do you want from me?" Risa blurted out in rage. "What do you gain from doing all this?" Risa questioned pointedly. 

"Freedom" The concept almost sounded foreign on Towas lips, as if it were a dream not a goal. "I want freedom, this place is a prison" Towa seemed to drop her crazy kidnapper persona. 

"Freedom? Prison?" Risa was confused. Why would a demon need freedom? "What do you mean?" Genuinely curious Risa stopped struggling and focused. The chains around her stopped their symphony of clashing together leaving the air open for explanation. 

"Your Gods feared us demons and locked us away in a realm outside of space time. They hated our race prejudice of the highest degree." Risa was enamored by this information. "Now all we want is freedom, to see the same blue sky you do. To feel the rain not of blood shed by a comrade but of life, the elixir you call water." Towa spoke so fondly of a world not her own. 

"Why do the gods fear you exactly?" Risa asked with a bit of trepidation. 

"They fear what they can't control" Towa responded coldly. Clearly having enough of the conversation Towa heald up a mask and slowly made her way over to Risa. "Just relax and you wont try to escape anymore" Towa places the mask on a scared Risa.

[Outskirts of the Demon Realm]

The field is littered with bodies of humans, namekians, and races of all kinds. Standing in the center of the fight is Nico and Kaito back to back. "Well looks like we're surrounded" Nico said a little disappointed they didn't make it to the castle. 

"I'm not done yet!" Kaito charged into the demons throwing his arm through a few of them causing blood to splatter everywhere. " I will fight till my end!" Kaito shouted, boosting the morale of everyone else around. 

"That's the spirit!" Nico was right behind Kaito in killing the demon's "Lets save your sister!" Nico Charged a Kamehameha wave clearing out a lot of demons in their path. 

"Uh oh can't have that" a voice popped up beside Kaito and before he could turn to see who it was he was backhanded and sent flying back a few paces. 

"What the hell?" Kaito was in disbelief, he held the spot on his face and winced in pain. 

"You're getting too close to Lord Mechikabrura" A pink skinned demon with red hair and red eyes blocked their way. He appeared to be wearing a black overcoat designed to l ook like a rabbit. He pulled out a weird looking knife and charged at Kaito. 

"Kaito get out of the way!" Nico Burst into Super Sayian 2 and faster than lightning deftly blocked the knife with his own katana sending sparks in all directions. "I haven't used this thing since I was a teenager" Nico chuckled under his breath. 

"Who are you? Why are you here?" The demon asked mildly perturbed that filthy mortals got so close to his lord. 

"Im Nico, And you are?" Nico was struggling to keep up this clash of blades the longer in went on. "Its only fair you introduce yourself" Nico gripped his blade with both hands and pushed back harder. 

"Not that you mortals deserve it, but I am Demon god Salsa" The demon replied annoyed. "Now die like the vermin you are." Salsa spun his blade and a tornado appeared out of thin air lifting up Nico and leaving him defenseless. 

"Dammit! I gotta push further!" Nico spun within the tornado gathering Ki and sheathing his sword. Nico focused before pushing his arms out in both directions and dispersing the tornado landing on the ground roughly. "Now…" Nico gripped the ground and slowly stood up. "Wanna play fair?" 

Salsa was stunned, nobody had ever gotten out of that attack so easily. "I shouldn't have underestimated you" Salsa threw his blade on the ground creating a great trench to form. "Lets play" Salsa jumped forward at high speed.
