Chapter 3

"Kai"

Sydney's soft and soothing feminine voice called out to him as her elegant figure held him from collapsing to the ground in exhaustion.

Kai could feel her soft and ample breasts on his back, they were bulging against her dress and snugly resting against him like they were comfy pillows as she held him from falling to the ground. Kai showed no reaction to this as he slowly regulated his breathing from the intense training.

"I'm fine."

Kai's voice called out to her, his voice was much deeper from when they were children and made Sydney's heart flutter with an inexplicable feeling every time she heard it.

"Why are you like this?"

Sydney softly complained as she moved her long light blue hair out of the way of his face, tucking it behind her delicate ears, they both sat down on the floor with Sydney helping him sit down from behind, he was heavy and a head taller than her, making her struggle a little.

"I need...more strength,"

Once they were both on the floor Kai determinedly answered her question.

Sydney shook her head and didn't say anything, but she thought 'Even your Grandfather, who was a Martial Saint, the pinnacle of cultivation in our world has yet to come back after being gone for almost a decade, going after them would be tantamount to suicide.' Though she kept hers and many others who shared this same opinion to themselves.

There were 12 known cultivation realms in the World of Aeon that had 9 sub-levels in every realm, cultivation was where individuals took something located in the air that the World of Aeon naturally birthed, called Spiritual Qi, they took this peculiar energy that was like a distinct form of essence into their bodies, tempering their constitution completely from impurities as the more they absorbed the Spiritual Qi, the more they mended their mortal flaws, strengthening themselves as the Spiritual Qi they stored into their body converted into energy then strength outwardly, allowing them to shatter mountains, cross and split open rivers, use many astonishing abilities, and even fly.

Every individual in the World of Aeon was born with 3 Dantians, the lower Dantian was located in the navel, the middle Dantian was located in the chest, and the upper Dantian was located in one's mind.

The lower Dantian was used to gather the pure Spiritual Qi in the air, the Qi then traveled from the lower Dantian to the middle Dantian and gets refined even further into cyclones of spiritual power.

These cyclones of energy were much finer than regular Qi and had a specific color of energy to them that represented each realm's cultivation.

One who was able to create 9 cyclones of white-colored Spiritual Qi would be a 9th graded Martial Apprentice. One who was able to merge those 9 cyclones of energy into one, successfully changing their essence and color would able to graduate from a Martial Apprentice and become a Martial Intermediary and so on and so forth.

Kai's grandfather was a 12th realm cultivator, a Martial Saint who condensed 108 cyclones of energy into one inside his middle Dantian, a feat that only a select few in the World of Aeon had done.

So everyone's doubts about Kai were not without reason when they knew he wanted to search for his family.

Sydney closed her eyes, concentrating with all her mind as her fingertips began glowing with a mysterious blue light, one could feel a warm and gentle feeling emitting from the azure light as it coiled around her slender fingers, Sydney pressed her fingertips against Kai's bare skin, making him sigh pleasurably as she activated her special healing technique.

It was a sort of therapeutic technique that originated with the use of the composition of water, it was able to stimulate blood circulation throughout one's entire body, creating a wonderful massage-like feeling and nourishing the body at an amazing speed, the gashes on Kai's back and chest healed as the water entirely rinsed his insides, the wounds healed fast enough to be witnessed by the naked eye and the faint traces of lightning deep in his meridians were slowly cleansed away.

Sydney continued to move her delicate hands and fingers across his body with expertise and ease, it seemed like she had ample practice with this technique and she had him to thank for it.

Kai had his eyes closed in utmost comfort as he received the amazing massage-like hydrotherapy healing from Sydney, sighing occasionally in relief.

When she was finished Kai's body cracked like his bones were thoroughly cleansed, he looked refreshed and reborn, brimming with vigor.

They sat in silence for a few minutes, Sydney still had her fingertips on Kai's back as she finally spoke up.

"Strength this strength that, is that all you think about?" Sydney softly asked Kai as she traced the Yin-Yang symbol made of a gorgeous white and black dragon that was located on his spine, she didn't seem mad at him, just curious.

Every member of the Divine Dragon Clan had a Divine Dragon Mark upon birth that granted them dragon power, Kai's mark was that of the Yin-Yang Dragon, a unique variant that was never before seen.

Kai had the bloodline of two Ancient Guardian Families, The Divine Dragon (Mother), and the Celestial Eye (Father) bloodlines , while both of Sydney's parents had the Water Diety bloodline.

The bloodlines of the Ancient Gods were exceedingly different than usual bloodlines, usually, those who share a similar bloodline would inherit their parent's powers, but the bloodline of the Ancient Gods gave those who inherited it the chance to awaken any power within the entire bloodline, not just their parents, which is why Kai and his sisters had different colored Celestial God Eye's, abilities, and Divine Dragon Mark's.

It wasn't guaranteed that the children of both parents who carried an Ancient Godly Bloodline would get the full lineage from both bloodlines, it depended on the child's talent and luck, some children got both powers of the bloodline, some only get some powers of each, some get only one bloodline's power, some get one bloodline power and a little power from the other bloodline, and some get both bloodline's entire power which was the rarest and most powerful form of them all.

Though, parents having the same Ancient Godly bloodline meant a sure thing for their descendants to have the full bloodline ability of that specific Ancient God.

Mixing bloodlines from different Ancient Gods could result in either a child with a feeble bloodline power or one with both at full inherent strength, there were many different possibilities in between those two options. It was a high-risk high reward sort of deal.

Kai's dark eyes shot open, his handsome face turned around and glared at Sydney, that golden and crimson ring around his pupils made her body tingle slightly as she met his gaze, she could tell a deep hidden power was lurking within them.

"Yes, strength is everything."

Sydney shook her lovely head once more and sighed as she heard his words, her appearance resembled that of a bullied wife.

"What's wrong?" Kai asked, his eyebrows knit at her pitiful appearance.

"Nothing..."

Kai could obviously tell something was wrong with her, she was fidgeting with her fingers and looked extremely nervous like she had something to say but couldn't bring herself to do it.
