Tales of the beginning

Hearing these words from the undead king was a confirmation to Elena, the king was way ahead of her. Engaging someone like him in battle would only end in a disaster, moreover the king seem to know more than anyone elena has meant so far in zastlevania, if anything he knew who she was and he knew elena was connected to Dracula.

she didn't want the others to know about her system and Dracula, so she was hoping the king would shut up and say nothing more.

"I am only a simple mage vampire, your highness." elena said. hearing this, the king signalled for her to step forward, and she obeyed. as soon as she stood directly in front of him, he placed his index finger on her forehead.

This simple action sent vibrations through Elena's body. The next moment, she heard the voice of the king directly in her mind like he was using telepathy.

"Tell me, why have you come, Elena?" Your Majesty, my team and I are in search of a wyvern. We need to make an antidote to save a friend ours. Elena responded.

"Why have you come to zuk? what business does a Greenleaf have with vampires?"I was brought here by Alacad, the great grandson of Dracula," Elena responded.

After a long silence, elena heard the voice of the undead king once more in her head. "Very well, Greenleaf, for the sake of your bloodline, I will help you, but you must offer something of equal value."

Hearing this, Elena's mind was racing fast. She couldn't help but wonder about how the king was going to help her. was he going to give her directions to a place where she would locate a wyvern, or was he about to tell her about her bloodline since he knew much about the Greenleaf name.

She would never know if she didn't give up something of equal value, which made her wonder what she was supposed to offer in the first place.

"The staff Elena, Give him the staff." dracula said in a low voice. If this suggestion had come from anyone else, elena wouldn't have hesitated to teach them a lesson.

she had come to love the magical staff, especially now that she was a mage and could use mana. taking in a deep breath, elena decided to try her luck and ignore dracula.

"What does a lowly vampire have that would be of equal value, your highness?" She had asked this question with the hope that the king would ask for something else.

without saying a word, the king's gaze fell on the staff on Elena's hand before returning back to her.

seeeing this, she sighed and then proceeded to pass the staff to the king. the king didn't bother to collect it from Elena as one of the armed skeletons quickly rushed forward and collected the staff from elena.

Watching the skeleton take away her magical staff, elena swallowed hard as the voice of the undead king brought her back to reality.

"Undead, humans, vampires and other creatures the humans tend to refer to as monsters are all closely related, As you can see, elena the vampires shares similarity traits with the humans and so does the other Undead creatures. Long ago, when only humans roamed the earth, there was universal balance to the natural order of things. The quest of power, the growing desire to be the greatest, brought about chaos, division, and death."

After saying these words, the undead king paused for a while as if waiting for his words to sink in. The others were oblivious of the conversation between the King and elena, as their entire conversation has been through a mind link that worked like telepathy. After a short while, the king continued..

"I remember it like it was yesterday. Ten humans in search of powers journeyed far into the realms of the divine beings. There, they came across several beings that you might call gods today, but they were referred to as divines. These beings were powerful, just too powerful with unphantomable powers.

The humans were asked to display their strength, after each one of them had showed their capabilities only four of the divines showed interest in these humans, while the others deemed them to be too weak and unworthy.

the divine beings who showed interest were Maacah [the divine of blood], Zombi the snake divine, jezel, and Zen.

Zen was a divine with the power of strength, In his opinion, only one man was worthy enough to be blessed by him, so he blessed Eric Greenleaf with the power of strength, strength that could rival that of some divines.

Zombi the snake divine was proud and wise, he only saw me worthy enough to be blessed by him, so he blessed me with the powers of the undead, so long I created others like me and consume the flesh of humans.

Elena was listening carefully, not wanting to blink in other for her not to miss any important information.

Jezel also had a condition and a blessing for the only human she deemed worthy enough to receive her blessings, she would bless him with the ability to transform into a wolf and gain more powers but on the condition of consuming the flesh of lesser lifeforms.

Maacah was the last divine to offer his blessings. He was generous enough to bless all seven remaining humans, Maacah gave them strength, strength to dominate and conquer, not just physical strength alone, but he also gave them different abilities. His only request was for them to consume blood and for them to freely bless others with their newfound gift as he has freely blessed them... so the vampires were formed.

Every single one of the ten except Eric Greenleaf had turned into a monster of some sort. When we got back to the mortal world, we all needed to meet up with our conditions in order to keep our new powers and grow stronger so violence and killings became rampant, the vampires needed to turn others into vampires as Maacah has instructed, they needed to consume the blood of humans also.

I also started creating others like me, and we needed to consume the flesh of humans, too, same as the other whom jezel had blessedness.

Our actions upset the balance and natural order of things. The only one who was strong enough to go against us was Eric Greenleaf, He protected the humans as best as he could.

After several years of chaos and wars, all ten of us came together and signed a peace treaty. The undead and vampires agreed to move to another planet while the wolves would remain on earth with the humans only if they hunt and eat animals.

Dracula, who was among the seven vampires to have been blessed by maacah, was responsible for erasing every memory of the vampires, undead, and wolves away from the minds of the humans. as a result of this, the humans have next to no knowledge about what really happened. we moved to Zuk with the vampires, and everyone has maintained their territories ever since."

"So this Eric guy is my ancestor? and you knew him, and he's also the reason why the vampires and the others left earth. just to be clear. elena said.

Looking at her like a fool, the undead king stated, "the point is, the vampires are a race of war, chaos and blood, their condition is to consume blood and turn others into vampires, your ancestor Eric was the reason why they where unable to fully complete this requirement in the past.

So I ask you again Greenleaf why are you in zastlevania? why are you in zuk? if you're here, who will protect the humans?

you carry the bloodline of Eric Greenleaf, in you I see the strength that would one day rival that of the divines so what then are you doing being all mixed up with Dracula's bloodline?"
