Dracula's Heartbeat

"You're so freaking annoying, get off me." She said and raised her hands to push him away but before she could, his left hand came up and held them in mid air. "What if I don't want to?" He asked her. Ashley got a tickly feeling in her tummy as she watched him, not being able to bring herself to say anything. He was doing that thing again. Still holding her hand, he put their hands on his chest and leaned forward. Ashley's heart beat really fast and it was not just because of the struggle she had done but because of this man that was on top of her, intimidating her. He leaned in till their lips touched. Ashley closed her eyes when that happened, forgetting that she had been mad at him a few seconds ago and he kissed her. He was so passionate about the kiss and none of them cared about whoever might be watching them around. He broke the kiss after a short while and rested his forehead on hers. Their hands on his chest did not leave there and Ashley felt his heartbeat. Her eyes widened. "Your heart is beating fast." She commented.  Damon's hold on her hand tightened. "That's what you do to me Ash. You make my heart beat like crazy."  Ashley felt it again in her tummy, the tickly feeling. She stared into his eyes.  She knew her heart did funny things when it came to him but she didn't expect his heart to beat this fast because of her. She was glad she did things to him too and not just him to her. His lips took hers again and this time Ashley's hand left his and went around his neck then they rolled over with her lying on top of him now. Her hand went into his hair while his stroked her back. They rolled again now lying on their sides and kissing nonstop. Damon's hand went to her thighs and drew her closer to him, putting her leg on top of his while hers played with his hair and the other on his shoulder. They stayed in that position even after the kiss, now gazing into each other's eyes and enjoying what it felt like to lay in each other's arms in the midst of flowers and in front of a beautiful lake. ________ She is an orphan, in a world that hasn't been very fair to her. Good Samaritan

Ashley woke up feeling a little pain in her head. She opened her eyes gently because of the rays of sunshine she could feel on her face. It was morning already. Ashley was surprised that she had slept calmly through out the night. She opened her eyes and saw that everywhere was bright. It seemed like she had slept for almost half of the day.

However, something caught her attention, there was a chandelier hung on the ceiling above her. How did it get there? But then she noticed she was not in her room. Where was this? She looked around and found herself in a room which she didn't recognize.

The room was so big probably three times compared to the one she had. The walls were painted grey and the ceiling was painted white. The bed she lay on was too big for her size and the sheets were comfy. There was also a couch at a corner in the room. Ashley felt like her story had finally changed or better still this was a dream where her story had finally changed and she didn't want to wake up from it. But she knew she was awake and this was not any new life for her.

She was in somebody's house, in their room to be precise.

Sitting up, Ashley tried to think of how she could have gotten here. Then she remembered the incident last night, the men that attacked her before she was saved by the beautiful man she had seen earlier. She hadn't been more relieved in her whole life.

If he hadn't come in on time she couldn't even think of what they would have done to her. But how did he know, how did he find her?. Could he have brought her here? She remembered almost fainting and then being caught by someone or something. Could it have been the beautiful man? She was not sure because she also remembered that he walked away after she thanked him and she was about following him when she felt dizzy.

Ashley swung her legs down to get out of the bed and wanted to rush to the door when she felt like something was missing then she remembered her bag. Where could it be? She looked around the room for her bag, and she found it on an arm chair in the the room and quickly went to pick it up. Then she opened it and checked to be sure her things were still intact. Satisfied that nothing was missing, she hung the bag and walked to the door.

As she was about to turn the door knob, the door opened and she almost bumped into someone. It was a woman, but not just any woman it was the beautiful woman who had come to their restaurant too.

Ashley gasped when she almost hit the woman. Looking at her up close she was even more beautiful, she had beautiful emerald green eyes and flawless skin. Her beautiful long reddish brown hair was down and spread over her shoulders, and she smelled of flowers in spring. But there was something intimidating about her that Ashley felt.

The woman tilted her head to one side and looked at Ashley.

"I see you're awake." The woman said, "And leaving already."

"Uh... I'm sorry I'm just confused on how I got here." Ashley said as she moved back.

"Oh that, my friend Damon brought you in last night. He said some people tried to hurt you and you also fainted."

Damon. So that was the beautiful man's name. And he was the one that brought her here? She thought he walked away.

"I suspected you'll be up by now so I came to check on you." The woman said again.

"Thanks ma'am I'm sorry for any inconveniences I must have caused you." Ashley said and the woman shook her head.

"No problem about that. I'm Sephirah." Sephirah introduced with a smile.

"Nice to meet you ma'am. I'm Ashley."

"Ashley. It's a beautiful name."

"Thanks ma'am. If you don't mind I would like to take my leave." Ashley said politely.

"Alright then come with me." Sephirah said and they left the room and walked out.

From the looks of it they were downstairs and Ashley guessed that it must have been a guest room she was put in. There was a grand staircase at the corner of the hall. The house itself was so big and lavishly furnished. It looked like a mansion. It was a mansion.

Whoever these people were, they were really really rich. Ashley couldn't help looking around the whole place, all the walls were painted grey. It seemed that that was the woman's favorite color. There were some portraits hung on the wall in the large sitting room. She didn't get to take them in before they got to the big entrance door that was made of glass, two big flower vases with beautiful flowers in each were placed on each side of the door.

"I'll ask my driver to take you home." Sephirah offered with a smile.

"You don't have to bother I can manage."

"Are you sure?" Sephirah asked her with a worried expression.

"Yes, thank you."

And with that, Ashley left the woman. She managed to find her way to the road and stopped a taxi then she got in and told the driver her location before he drove off.

Once she got to her apartment she felt okay. Today was work free as it was a public holiday so she didn't have to bother about rushing to work. Dropping her bag, she took out her new phone and it's charger then plugged it to a socket so it could get fully charged as Natalie had told her to. Then she got into the bathroom to wash up and change her clothes.

She couldn't stop wondering why the beautiful man, Damon, as Sephirah had called him helped her.

Well, he helped her and that was what mattered. He was the good Samaritan in her case, and she was grateful for his help.

But there was something off about Damon and the woman. They were too beautiful to be true. And there was this aura surrounding them. Something was different about them which she couldn't quite explain. She felt strange around them. They looked calm and beautiful but it felt like they could also be scary and dangerous at the same time.

Why was that?

Ashley remembered when she had touched Damon. There was a familiar feeling to it. It felt as if she had touched him before. She got the same feeling she had felt when... she touched the man in her dreams!

But how come?

He couldn't be the man in her dream could he? Or perhaps they're related?.

What was she even thinking? The man in her dream was so much like a monster. He was frightening! But the aura surrounding him was similar to Damon's.

The image of her touching the man in her dreams and him turning to face her came to her head as well as images of her touching Damon last night and him turning to face her. She became scared. For what exactly? She didn't know.

Gosh what was wrong with her? Could it be the problem she has of sensitivity that is affecting her. Why did she even have to sense and feel strange things? There was a time she started to think she had a disease or maybe she was a witch as people called her but she just didn't know. They were probably normal human beings like every other person and she was here with her own issue thinking they were strange.

But then again who said they were abnormal human beings?

She wished she had parents that she could talk to about all these things disturbing her. She mostly wished like that when she felt a presence in her room, like someone was watching her. There was a time she even got a teddy bear to hold on to tightly when she either had a nightmare or felt a presence. But she had also become scared of the teddy bear and got rid of it. There was a lot she had been through and is still going through but has had no one to talk to about. She was still scared of confiding in Natalie. No matter how she loved her, she just couldn't bring herself to let her know these things.

These were also part of the reasons she had refused Cassandra's offer to take her in.

After washing up and getting dressed Ashley decided to make something to eat. She entered her small kitchen and decided to make noodles. She hardly cooked at home because of her work which she went to early and came back from late. And besides she ate there through out so there was no need to cook when she got home in the night.

Soon the food was done and her stomach made a loud noise as she sat down to eat her food. She was so hungry that she could barely wait for the food to cool.

While she was eating, it started raining. The rain didn't seem heavy as it was little drops that fell on her window.

This type of rain she usually didn't like, when it started it usually took a long time to come to an end. It just stayed in between drizzling and pouring.

She finished her food which got cool eventually and decided to go through her new phone. This is the first smart phone she will ever have. When it was fully charged, she unplugged it and decided to see what the phone could do.
