Memories of conflict

Chi An interrupted Jun Mey and said, "It doesn't matter if you don't know." Snorting, he added, "Your incapacity to defend yourself is giving me a lot of trouble."

Sinking her mind, Jun Mey thought, 'Causing your effort?' Jun Mey calmly sighed, 'I should have known he had no way of knowing my feelings.'

Tired of beating around with Jun Mey, Chi An interrupted her thought, "Since you don't know why they want you so much." He stood up and suddenly struck her forehead, "You need to go see for yourself." Chi An had seen a lot and knew that merely explaining everything would be as difficult as ascending to the nine heavens. So he quickly transferred a lot of memories to Jun Mey.

Chi An used his technique on Jun Mey and transported her to a cloudy location where she witnessed a conflict between people equipped with magical gear and wolves with eyes ranging from emerald to bloody sanguine. The warriors employed various weapons, including bows and arrows, inscribed alphabets (A and S), and staffs of different sizes and colors on their glabella. A warrior with a black crown imprinted on his glabella commanded the other fighters in the war.

Another battle drew Jun Mey's attention. And it was between a fearsome wolf with champagne eyes and a lady with a gleaming golden crown on her glabella.

As Jun Mey calmly watched the fight, she wondered, 'What exactly is happening here?' The fighters moved so quickly that she struggled to follow their movements. She was particularly impressed by the lady with the golden crown, who seemed to be able to wield any weapon she wished. Jun Mey found the scene interesting, especially since she had successfully kept the frightening wolf at bay.

Reflected on this terrifying scenario, Jun Mey slowly scratched her temples. However, before she could come up with any conclusions, a surge of frightening energy forcibly removed her from the site. Jun Mey lost consciousness because of that energy. Even though her eyes remained calm, she gasped for air when she awoke. Despite shaking with terror and despair, she managed to maintain a steady demeanor.

Jun Mey turned to Chi An and calmly asked, "What's that?"

Chi An interrupted her with another question, "Did you happen to witness it?"

"They're battling like gods," Jun Mey answered. She slowly turned to the flame and added, "I couldn't stand up to the strain."

Chi An spoke in a fast-paced tone, "Those who look like humans are known as hunters. I'm sure you've met the others, who are werewolves." Chi An validated the debate that the hunter's and wolves' godliness held some truth, considering their lineage traced back to Emperor Houyi. As per the legend, the blood of Houyi ran stronger in the hunter queen's veins. In contrast, werewolves had ties to the goddess Changé and a long-standing feud with hunters. Chi An concluded by informing Jun Mey that the wolf king's bloodline had the most powerful link to Changé.

Chi An furrowed his brows, continuing, "Normally, Changé and Houyi blood cannot combine, but for some reason, the one with the greatest Houyi lineage can act as an elixir for wolf leveling." Chi An paused, looking at Jun Mey blankly. Seeing Jun Mey steadied her eyes on him, Chi An snorted and added, "As a result, they've sought you highly." Chi An crossed his arms and angled away from Jun Mey, speaking rapidly without concern whether she understood him.

Hearing Chi An's words, Jun Mey wondered why her foster parents had not informed her of the situation. She couldn't believe a stranger had revealed such important information to her.

So she slowly raised her head to look at the cave, thinking, 'What became of my parents?' Jun Mey looked calm on the surface, but her mind was already turbulent. She knew she had a problem but didn't know it was so big and unbearable.

Looking at Jun Mey's reaction, Chi An unconcernedly interrupted her thought, saying, "Have you ever met your parents?"

Jun Mey calmly answered, "I live with my foster parents." After a deliberate sad expression, Jun Mey continued, "They informed me that my parents had died but never gave me sufficient information." Her foster parents had promised Jun Mey that she would be informed of certain things when she reached a specific age, and now she remembered their promise.
