Chapter 6

As Eva got into the car, she smiled and said to herself

'No wonder he was familiar, that's Thompsons Realtor's CEO. But dang he is one weird guy'. She has seen him in the magazines, saying he is one of the youngest male CEO in the country at twenty-nine, and he has shares in almost all the big companies in the country including her grandfather's company Wills Cooperations, which her father is the president. She wondered if the rumour wasn't true because what she heard was he is so cold and don't engage in conversations unless it is business-related. So she wondered why he came up to Joey and acted all so friendly after eleven years and behaved like that towards her. She could still feel his hot breath on the back of her hand and she blushed at the thought. He said he came for grandfather's funeral but I don't think I saw him, 'well I was in a corner throughout and was in my own world that day, so I might not have noticed him anyways'.

As the driver was pulling up at Eva's mansion, she checked the time and realized it was almost 1 a.m and she noticed all the lights on the second floor has been turned off. 'I guess they've all gone to bed by now, I need to be careful so I don't wake everybody' As soon as she entered the mansion, her house help, who is in charge of food and cleaning the house came to greet her. she has been working with Eva since she was pregnant, she like the mom-figure in Eva's life and she love both Eva and Rosie dearly and treats them like her family.

"Welcome back Miss, would you like me to set you your dinner now?" Aunty Rhoda asked.

"Oh no Aunty, its too late to eat anything now and I don't want you to trouble yourself this late, id get a glass of water and go upstairs"

"Is grandma sleeping already and hope she had quite a lot to eat, cos Madam Lou said she's not been eating well lately so I'm a little bit worried" Eva continued looking worried. Madam Lou is her grandma's house help.

"oh I did notice she didn't finish the food I served her but I thought it was because Rosie was chatting with her and the food got cold" Aunty Rhoda commented looking worried as well.

"I will ask her when she wakes up if everything is alright with her health, oh by the way Joey is coming here in the noon, but it's a surprise for grandma and Rosie," Eva said as she went to the kitchen to have a glass of water.

"Good night Aunty" she continued before going upstairs.

Before going into her room, she went to Rosie's room and saw she was fast asleep with her duvet cover almost on the ground, she walked in quietly to cover her up and gave her a peck on the forehead before turning around and going to her room.

She was so tired after a long day. she quickly had a quick shower before getting in bed. She remembered Joey is coming in the noon and decides to text Lilian she won't be going to work and she should handle everything in the office on her behalf and if anything urgent she should give her a ring. With that, she retired for the night and dozed off.

Meanwhile, Addy was on his way home with Leo in the car with him. Leo and Addy are the same age and when they are not at work, they speak casually to each other.

"Addy I think you like Miss Williams, because you would have dealt with her after replying to you in that manner and you didn't seem to look angry, Do you like her?" Leo wanted to confirm

"Well I don't know, I felt like she looked familiar and I confirmed it" Addy replied

" of course, she looks familiar, she's on the front page of that business magazine from last month," Leo said

"I'm not talking about the business magazine, I saw her at her grandfather's funeral, she was coupled up in a corner in the hall and didn't relate with anyone. Although I didn't talk to her, she looked lifeless then, you could tell she was there physically but her mind was somewhere else. You could tell she was in shock and was lonely" Addy replied

"I wanted to hug her and tell her she's not alone, that she will be alright but I shied away and forgot about her after a while" he mumbled looking sad

"But I'm glad she looks really good and shes is doing very well for herself now" he continued

Leo's eyes widened and he's now determined to make sure he finds out everything about Eva, hopefully, she is still single cos he can sense his friend has feelings for this lady.

Addy decided to not say anything further about Eva, but he is still interested in knowing her better.
