Dominating Realities as Lord of Mysteries

Life is quite frankly a bitch. It gives you joy at times and then just as easily takes it away. So now I am going to end mine by jumping off from my balcony on 19th floor in my apartment building. I don't have any reasons to entertain this bitch anymore after all.

I will be honest with you I am not being all depressed because of some stupid shit. I really don't have any reasons to live anymore. I am quite an imperfect man. My brain doesn't work like a normal person, at least what I consider normal. I can't dedicate myself to anything other than family. Without family, I don't have a reason to live anymore. After all they were the only ones I was living this boring life this whole time for and not ending it all. My family didn't know about this because well I didn't really want to see a psychiatrist and have some of my unhealthy mentalities to be treated because that's who I am. It's not like these mentalities would harm anyone.

Anyway my name is Maximilian Hendrix aged 25 and I am committing suicide because my whole family is dead now. I mean is there a point to live anymore if all of your loved ones are dead?

Let me clarify some things. It's not like every relative of mine is dead. I have a long list of extended family full of greedy bastards alive so I do have many living relatives but in all honesty, but I don't care about any of them. I mean some cousins are alright but that's all.

Anyway I should tell you first how I came to this point first. When I was 17 my father died from stroke. That was a shocking moment for me and I realized that without my family life is meaningless for me. My mother died 2 years later in grief which still hurts because I tried so hard to help her overcome grief but I guess that's why life is a bitch. Thankfully I was a legal adult by then otherwise I would have even lost my parents' inheritance to my greedy relatives. Now with my little sister who is 7 years younger than me, the situation is a bit more complicated.

She is the main reason I was so dedicated to my family. Of course this was because I loved her more than anything, you can call me a sis-con or whatever but for me ever since she was born I decided in my small mind that I will keep her happy. And this love was more than familial love. Most of you will find this disgusting but that's who I am. I even said that I would marry her when she grows up to my mom when I was 9 (well I was innocent at the time), she scolded me about it and told me to never say such things again. But I guess her scolding didn't work and I continued to love her with all my heart. After my mom died I was the one who took care of my 12 year old sister. I enrolled in a nearby university to take care of her. And 6 years passed by just like that.

After 6 years of living together, we were quite close. I worked at the nearby pathology lab and she was in high school. We even bonded over some fictional media because I was quite into the stuff and she just accompanied me when I was watching anime or TV shows.

Anyway I thought it was time to be honest with her and tell her about my feelings. I mean she is already 18 what if she soon brings a boyfriend home or something. So while I was on the way home from work, I called her and started telling her my feelings. In retrospect that probably wasn't the best approach and the moment I was about to hear her answer I heard a loud screech and there was no answer. I was stunned by this, I mean she should be at home at this time. So I started screaming at my phone but no answer, people around me were looking at me like I was a lunatic but I didn't care at the moment. Then I cut the call and dialed again, someone picked up the call but it wasn't my sister. Some man picked up the call and told me what happened. So basically while my sister was talking to me on the phone while crossing the road, some truck driver (probably drunk) decided to drive at red light hitting my sister in the process. I asked which hospital they are taking her in because I heard sound of ambulance in the background. So he told me the name of the hospital while asking. After that I cut the call and reached the hospital in 20 minutes.

And my whole world fell apart when I reached the place. My sister, my Eva was dead because of a cervical fracture. I was told she died immediately because of that. I mechanically did some procedures related to her death, and decided on cremation for her corpse. Anyway I was angry at the truck driver for his hand in her death. So I quickly investigated about him and found his address. I also found that the guy was not arrested even after this incident for whatever reason but I guess that makes this easy. By preparing some gasoline and knives, I headed towards his house. I went there and killed his entire family of a wife and a daughter along with him. Then I burned the house down and ran away.

And now I am here, pretty sure police will come soon to arrest me for murder but they will definitely not catch me alive.

"Evangeline, life was definitely a bitch to us. Hopefully death will not part us. I am coming to where you are now. Don't leave me behind alright." I say while jumping off the balcony.

There is a sensation of weightlessness while falling, I see the pavement coming close really fast so I close my eyes and then nothing.

I don't feel any pain right now but I can't open my eyes either. Am I dead? Is this death? After all I can't feel any sensations in my body.

"Yes you are dead." Suddenly a voice speaks to me and everything brightens up but not by much. The light around us is red in colour. A man surrounded by red fog comes and sits on a big throne. I wonder if this is that ROB cliché that I saw in light novels and fanfics but to be honest I am not that thrilled about it.

[So what do you want?] I try to speak and it comes as a disembodied sound.

"Oh straight to the point, I see. Then again that's the reason I chose to offer you to become my assistant, that and your dedication to your family. So what do you say?" He asks me.

[And what would I get out of this?] I ask hopefully.

"You will get 3 wishes but nothing related to your past world. Also I have already decided which world you will be reincarnated into." He says.

[Alright do please tell me about the situation of my family before I decide this.] I tell him.

"That's reasonable coming from you because of your obsession to your family. Your parents have already reincarnated while living a happy life and your sister is currently in the middle of the process of being reincarnated." He tells me while acting like he already knew why I asked this. Anyway my parents living happily after reincarnation is good.

[Alright I accept your offer. But what will the job entail?]

"Oh you don't have to worry much about it right now, it's only management stuff but first you will have to become powerful enough to handle it. That's where the wishes and reincarnation come in." He explains.

[Okay so my first wish is for my sister Evangeline to reincarnate with me with her memories in a healthy body.]

"Okay I will reincarnate you as Fraternal twins. I think that should be fine with you?" He asks and I nod. That would be ideal.

[For my second wish I would like Meta Creation ability.]

"Why don't you ask for my whole power while you are at it? Brat that power is way over what I am willing to give you. Also if I were to give you that, the karmic balance would be upset big time. So choose something else." He tells me straightaway. Well it was worth a shot.

[Alright my second wish is to have the ability of Item Creation and Customization.] I mean this is pretty overpowered too but should be acceptable.

"I can accept to grant that wish but there will be some limitations on it. You will know about them after you reincarnate." He says.

[For my third wish, I want my sense of identity absolute.] This is pretty useful for example, if I directly absorb the experience of an expert I will not lose my identity in it.

"Alright that was an intelligent wish which would be very useful in your next world. Also since your wishes were of very high level, your living conditions will be bad and also you and your sister will remember your memories after some time." He says while smiling.

[Which world and in what era am I going?] I ask him.

"You are going to the world of Lord of the Mysteries and in the Fifth Epoch. Now off you go." He says while about to send me away.

[WAIT! What should I call you?] I ask him. I mean I think that's common courtesy. After all this person is allowing to meet my Eva again.

"Hmm what should you call me? Call me A." And with that he sent me away and my consciousness turned black.

Did you like it or not? If you didn't like it, it's understandable. I just wrote this for fun. Also if anyone's wondering if I dropped my previous fanfic then the answer would be no. I am quite busy these days and when I get free I become lazy so I couldn't write more chapters. I will post a new chapter for that novel today or tomorrow at latest. Anyway this fanfic is just written for fun so don't expect some super serious plot. The most serious stuff has already happened to the mc, I don't think I will write any tragedy for him. I don't like tragic stuff.
