Does the System know what kind of monster the villainess is?

The world has failed its cataclysmic event and hence became useless to the god in charge of it. So, it was abandoned and left to die. The dominant species of the world at the time, Draconids, created the System to prevent complete destruction, but the very beings who brought the cataclysmic event ended up interfering and the System decimated its creators, leaving the world open for the lesser species, like Elvenkin, Beastmen, and Dwarveners. It also allowed for the new ones to take root - that being Humanity and Demonkin. But that was all a mere flavor text in a game for the protagonist of this story. Or, rather, it was until she reincarnated right into it! After awakening monstrous power, what kind of path will she choose? To lay low, fading into obscurity? To abuse her might and become the absolute ruler? Or to take the empty divine throne for herself and give that godless world another chance? This is the story of Melinda Fenrioette. This is the story of Vehemence, the Brightness most Golden. ***** Cover by the amazing Bason55, find them at: twitter: @Kabe_5S Instagram: @Bason55._

Triggered event

"Zane! Zane! Zane!"

Under the deck, Melinda was calling out while drumming her fist on the door to the cabin occupied by her monstrous servant since the start of the voyage.

"M-my lady? What is going…?"

"Zane! How much EXP would someone get killing something like a Krackenos Uid…?! Or..! Or Colosal Golden Whale?! Would it be enough to get a level 10 character all the way up to level 24?!"

The completely exhausted-looking servant opened the door and asked in a weak voice but got instantly talked over by the panicking gold-haired noble.

"Huh? Umm, let me think…"

"..."

Zane furrowed his brows, rubbing his forehead with one hand while Melinda watched him anxiously.

"Y-yeah, easily. Actually, if they defeated them by any chance, would someone at level 10 jump to right around level 50-ish? But both of those are roaming super bosses that roam the Silver Ocean. If you want to hunt them, then we're on the wrong side of the continent."

"...are you sure…?"

He lowered his hand and nodded, smiling weakly, not suspecting a thing, but his words only made Melinda's worries worse.

"Yes. Because of one of the Demon Invasion story events, Amber Sea definitely doesn't have any roaming super bosses, and not even any static or hidden ones that could give enough experience to what you are saying. Well, of course, other than the event boss of the Demon invasion quest opening act…"

"!!!"

Zane confirmed and began to explain, yet before he could finish his sentence, the entire ship swayed suddenly, almost making the pair trip and fall but resulted in both him and Melinda ending up in each other arms.

Still, neither of them could enjoy the situation.

"...you… Melinda, don't tell me you...! YOU KILLED SEA DEITY GURAIDAN?!"

Zane's jaw dropped, and he raised his voice while his eyes bulged out.

"I think I diiiiiid…!"

Melinda's chin trembled, and she sobbed with tears streaming down her face as she leaned against him for physical and moral support.

"My lady! Are you alright?!"

"!!!"

While yet another huge wave crashed against the ship, Adrainna's voice called out to the gold-haired girl, and both she and her monstrous servant flinched, stepping away from each other.

A few moments later, the maid showed up with a terrified expression.

"My lady! Captain ordered us to stay in our cabins! It's complete madness out there! I never seen a storm like that!"

Adrianna gasped, reaching out and grabbing both Melinda and Zane and doing her best to drag them back into Zane's cabin while the entire ship was rocking back and forth like a children's toy.

"HOW DID YOU EVEN FOUND IT!? THERE IS A WHOLE SEPARATE QUEST DEDICATED TO FINDING AN ARTIFACT THAT WOULD LURE IT OUT OF HIDING! THE GURAIDAN IS NOT SUPPOSED TO JUST SWIM OUT IN THE OPEN!"

"THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT TOO! I DIDN'T KILL IT ON PURPOSE IN THE FIRST PLACE! IT WAS AN ACCIDENT!"

"?!?!"

Zane roared, and Melinda cried back while baffled Adrianna shut the door.

"HOW?!"

"I DON'T KNOOO-OOOW…!"

The servant grabbed and shook the noble girl's shoulders, making her cry so hard her voice cracked.

"GAH! What are both of you doing?! The captain said it will be alright, so calm down!"

Adrianna slapped her face with both hands to pull herself together and called out the other two.

"Like hell, it will! Death of the Sea Deity Guraidan triggers a superstorm lasting unceasingly for seven days and nights that destroys every ship that's stupid enough to set sail!"

"!!!"

Zane scoffed at Adrianna, making the girl speechless for a moment.

"Wh-whatever! It is already happening! Is there a way for us to escape that superstorm?!"

Luckily enough, Adrianna turned out to be capable of handling the pressure as she didn't succumb to despair and called to the other two.

"Ugh…! The trauma from the first playthrough is coming back to haunt me…! The stupid questline with a bunch of side quests filled with idiots who encouraged me to set sail before the end of the storm! And the moment I wasn't paying attention and agreed, it was an instant game over and a forced reload to the start of the Guraidan's encounter! The lost progress! The lost time…!"

"I wasn't paying attention during your last playthrough and was stuck in the middle of the superstorm while I was crossing the sea to train…! I almost died so many times…!"

Still, the call to action didn't work immediately, as the master-servant pair seemed lost in their own separate despair.

"What are you two talking about?! WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT NOW! AH…!"

"!!!"

"!!!"

Adrianna raised her voice with perfect timing for the entire ship to tremble and creak as a deafening sound of breaking wood was followed by yet another rumble.

"..."

All three looked at each other, and without communicating verbally, they rushed out of the room in unison.

As they made their way on the deck…

"WE LOST ALL SAILS!"

…the trio emerged to witness complete chaos and mayhem, with the desperate crewmates trying to do anything but being unable to as the ship lost its masts and sails…

"STARBOARD…! STARBOARD!"

"!!!"

Someone else shouted, and the captain desperately spun the ship's wheel, but the vessel ended up digging into and stopping on a coral reef or some other shallow spot and getting stuck, exposed to the hellish wind and enormous waves.

The safe haven of a port was so close, and yet so far, it was still visible merely moments ago but now entirely blocked by the massive waves, winds, and sudden mist.

"WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING!"

Adrianna cried out, fearfully grabbing onto Melinda and Zane's arms.

"SCREW IT! IT'S SINK OR SWIM NOW! ZANE, GET OUT THERE AND GET AS BIG AS YOU CAN, AND THEN LIFT ME AS HIGH AS YOU CAN!"

"...!"

Melinda bit her lips on the verge of tears again, but then she shook her head and roared, causing the other two to flinch and stare at her in shock.
