Chapter 26

Cassius Rein ~

..…A CENTURY AND TWELVE YEARS IN THE SUPERNATURAL WORLD LATER...

"Finally Varga, I have found the last ingredient to make the transportation spell." I said running my hand through the furs of Varga, my sabre toothed beast. "The trybrid child can no longer hide from me. The foolish act of that witch by sending her to the human world is now of no worry to me. I can finally crush her like I should have a long time ago, once and for all. I can finally get what I ned from her." I added with a smile.

"Pprrr!!!"

After a century and a decade past by the departure of the trybrid child from this world, I have finally found an ancient spell capable of opening a portal to the human world. A spell that would enable me pass through this world into the other without losing my powers and become a human again. It took a lot of time but at last, I've done it. I vowed to myself that I won't rest until her powers are mine. Until I control life and death.

All I need now to beginning enact it is to get one vital ingredient; A flower from the Tree of Magic.

The Tree of Magic is the one thing that is as old as the two worlds, maybe older. It is the birthplace of Magic itself in this world and any other. In the entire tree, there is only but one flower. That flower from its branches has the amount of magical energy that I need to break one of the major laws of nature.

"There you are!" I said with a smirk as I pointed my finger to a map that was magically capable of giving us a hint of the next location that the tree was to be.

Unlike anything brought out of nature, the Tree of Magic is known for its transportation abilities. It never stays in one place for a long period of time. The Tree of Magic travels through space and can be found almost anywhere at any point in time. That's one of its attributes that makes it so incredibly rare to come by.

"Those vampyres better not give me any sort of trouble. I have had enough of their interruptions. I may be exaggerating but one more and I swear, THEY WILL GO EXTINCT." I said waving my hand over the face of the map.

According to the map that is capable of foreseeing the future destination of the tree, the tree was to appear next somewhere around the frozen pools of Nephtak. Going by the vampyric legends, Nephtak is the birth place of all vampyres. It's where their specie became of origin to this world. The first ever vampyre king, King Rowland the first was born right in its crystal waters and of course, Nephtak was a place located in the heart of the vampyre lands so going there surely means by one way or another that I will have to get to see either Frederick or his so called vampyre army of warriors.

Not that I can't take them out, surely I can do that with the flick of my wrist on a normal basis but with the Tree of Magic in their lands, their powers would be highly amplified beyond my telling and that means that I'll have to take caution in dealing with them so as not to compromise my mission.

All that I need is that flower off its branches and into my control and I can cast the spell needed to bring forth the doorway so probably, I won't have need of staying so long.

"My Lord, everything you requested for has been arranged." said the lycan commander in charge of training my army as he knelt at the door of my chambers.

"Good!" "Let's make this as quickly as possible." I said conjuring up all the maps into a single scroll as I made my way out of the room. "You are staying here Varga. I'll call on you if ever I have need for you but I doubt that would happen." I added before giving Varga a final pat on the head and I opened a portal and walked through it to the outer walls of the castle.

Varga is an ancient creature of magic. Bringing him so close to a force like that of the Tree of Magic might break the bonds that I have him under, to myself. His abilities are quite rare. After I acquired the power of Vuitton, it took me centuries to find Varga who apparently is the last Galvan in existence.

According to what the vampyres and witches refer to as 'The Chronicles', Galvans became the most rare creatures to ever walk the surface of this earth before finally dying off leaving Varga as the last. They were gifted with different abilities and took the shape and form of different beasts and were so unique compared to all other supernatural creatures. Varga took the shape and form of what humans on earth know to be a sabre-toothed tiger.

While some were pure evil to the core, others like Varga were pure of heart. I needed his allegiance so I used my dark magic to infiltrate his heart and subject it to my will and my will alone. After all, he is the last of his kind and that means that I won't be getting any form of opposition from his kind since I already have him on deck.

A long time ago, Galvans roamed the earth live any other supernatural creature. Their population was optimum in size. They weren't too many and weren't too scare. They were in balance with nature. It remained that way until for some reason, they began to die off. They were creatures of pure and dark magic and that meant they ought to be immortal but somehow, they weren't anymore. It was almost as if their maker wanted them gone, out of existence.

Within a short period of time, their population decreased as they were all extinguished into piles of ash until they were so rare that many thought them extinct. Soon, they were.

All except Varga.

Three centuries before King Frederick brought in Cassius to the supernatural world and turned him, it was confirmed by the elder witches and warlocks even by the vampyres that Varga was the last Galvan in existence, the last of his kind or so they thought.

"The mission is simple enough! Keep everyone that tries to get in our way occupied! And no matter what, don't let anyone and I mean anyone, get to the Tree of Magic! At the moment, no one there knows that it is within their midst."

"The only clue that they'll get is when they notice their abilities getting amplified. Even I don't know for sure where the tree is but for one thing, it is hidden somewhere in the lands of the vampyres so they won't be expecting it to be anywhere to be precise when they notice that it is somewhere in their lands." I said addressing the different packs of lycans standing before the castle.

"And for those of you whose curiosity and greed fills the cup, I advise and warn that you stay away from the Tree of Magic, for your own good. On no whatsoever circumstance should you go close to it without an order from me or even worse, follow your own orders and not only get close to it but touch it as well or else, be ready to be turned into a thousand year demon in the underworld as soon as you do so." I added with firmness in my words.

I may just be using these lycans to get what I need but that doesn't mean that I shouldn't care about their wellbeing especially when it has to do with a powerful force such as the Tree of Magic. I wouldn't want for any of them to get turned into a thousand year demon in the underworld and be enslaved to Hades. They are still my people and I'll forever remain their king.

"Ad huius errant in terra."

A portal opened and I alongside the rest of the chosen alpha's and their packs passed through it. We came out through the opposite end that took us to the borders of the lycan lands. Ever since I took the powers of the phoenixes, the lands of the lycans have been bound by a powerful barrier preventing anyone without my approval, front going out or coming in. So in the past century judging at a very low guess, no one outside these lands has set eyes on a lycan because I haven't broken down the barrier ever since, that is, until now.

"Dicit! apertum! Mihi!"

There was a bright flash of light and a portion of the barrier went loose and slowly, the magic holding it up began to wither away with the wind. We walked right out of the lands and then I re-casted the spell of protection. If for anything, I want to make sure that I will meet everything in my kingdom, just the way that I left them.

"…Vampyre in terras."

"Keep in mind everything that I told you!!!" Those were my final warnings right before I walked into a portal I had conjured up meant to take anyone who walks through to perimeter where the Tree of Magic was to be according to the map that is capable of giving an insight of the future destination of the ancient tree.
