Silence

Coming downstairs Aeden and Mihael saw their parents in the kitchen making breakfast like normal. After the food was prepared and set on the table everyone sat down.

Hey mom did you find anything out about the cult? Mihael asked.

Not much but we did find some nobles they infected. We are trying to find a way to cleanse the infected without letting them know. Or alert the cult of our actions Usiel said with a sigh.

We did manage to eliminate a lot of the lower cult members and the minor demons they summoned last night though Raziel said.

It seems like they are a never ending plague spreading through this city Aeden interjected.

So what are your plans to get rid of them Mihael asked.

I don't really know Raziel said. It seems that no matter what we do they keep popping up and we can't get rid of the head of the cult without being able to find him. Unless we unseal our true power to hunt them down and eliminate them which we can't do. Otherwise we would be removed from this world by the worlds will.

Usiel then continued where he left off. But it is looking like we might end up having to do that. Either that or moving away to another continent. They both sighed in exhaustion.

I really hope you don't have to do that Mihael said sounding worried.

Don't worry honey we will do our best to not have to Usiel said. But just in the rare case that it has to happen we have prepared something for you two.

Right after she said this she handed them each of them a key on a chain. The one she passed to Aeden was golden in color and had a sun as the head. Mihael's key was silver and had a moon as the head. The stem of the keys was twisted into curl kind of shape and it looked like the teeth of the key were missing half. It looked like the keys could be twisted together and combined into one. As Aeden and Mihael went to combine them their parents stopped them.

Only combine them in the case of an emergency Raziel said. Once combined they can't be taken apart.

Also once you combine them take them to any door in the house and act like you are unlocking it Usiel added. Although i hope you never need to use them.

Alright mom, alright dad both Aeden and Mihael said putting the keys around their necks.

Now you two need to head to school before you are late Raziel and Usiel said getting ready to walk them to school.

A couple months have passed where nothing much has hapoened. The demon cult has been mostly silent although Raziel and Usiel still continued to search for the head of the cult while eliminating the lower members.

Aeden and Mihael began their specalized classes at school. They learned about various magical plants, different runes and other things. They also got a couple of notifications from the system about skills they learned through the past couple months.

They also managed to upgrade all of their sub cores to the orange stage and their main core to the medium stage in the green stage. They have been improving their fighting skills although they never got skills from the system for them but they didn't let that deter them. They continued to train and whenever they had a couple of days off from school they would train as hard as they could while their parents went out to hunt the cultists.

The days have been pretty quite and they got into a good routine for awhile nearly forgetting about the cult that seemed to vanish. Today was just like any other day with Aeden and Mihael going to school and while they were at school their parents would do whatever they needed to. All seemed normal as their parents picked them up from school and began walking with them home.

Just as they were about to arrive home they all felt a strong pulse of mana flow through the city and hit them. They all stopped in their tracks looking at the direction where it came from. The hustle and bustle of the city slowly died down as an uncomfortable silence settled over the city.
