MIDDLE OF LIFE AND DEATH

"a fox!" one of the girls shouted.

"Awwwn, it's sooo cute" another girl said

"I wanna squeeze it so badly!" another girl screamed

"No fair, I also want a fox" Tony complained

Damn it seems that I was in the spotlight, part of me loved it and the other hated it.

Jake moved close to me with the wolf he had imagined.

"Dude you just love the spotlight, don't you" Jake teased.

Martha just stood there staring at me with her mouth wide open.

"Mrs Martha, can I change my worm to a fox" Tony asked bringing her back to reality

"N-no you can't" she said moving closer to me

"Young one where did you get the idea to imagine a fox" Martha asked

"U-um, it's just from a comic I read of a six tailed fox" I replied trying to hide the truth.

"You have a wild imagination child" Martha said with a smile on her face

"Now let's get back to where we left off" Martha said

"I want you to try and understand the ways of the divine pet in front of you, try to feel it's emotions"

Suddenly Tony raised his hands again

"Yes..."

"This isn't real, so how are we going to form a bond between them" Tony asked

"The pets in front of you is a holographic effect, they have been specially made for people who wants to experience what it is like to have a divine pet, every pet here has been properly studied except a few" Martha paused to look at me.

"So the shape shifting shadow fox has not been studied, that's why I couldn't find any information on the internet".

"Now for the emotion part, they don't really have an emotion, the emotion that you would be getting is from the orb in your hands, those orbs were made with the remains of some monster core, so you could be getting any random emotion from it, it's just a way of learning about them" Martha explained

On a different row in the same class

"Natalia did you see the divine pet chase just summoned, it's so cute" Lucy said

"..."

"Why didn't he just summon his original divine pet, it's supposed to be some sort of bird like creature.... Does he know that I'm watching" Natalia thought.

After 30 minutes of learning how to bond with our divine pet, the class was finally over.

We were on our way to our next class which was the monster guide class when

"Hey guys" we met two familiar female characters.

"Hey Nata..."

*Slap*

Jake received a heavy slap from Natalia.

"What was that for" Jake asked holding his cheek

"Hmph..." Natalia walked away

Jake turned his gaze towards Lucy waiting for answers.

"Well... I might have asked her if she was now together with chase, but in my defense, I thought you guys were together" Lucy said with a flustered face before running towards Natalia

"You see that chase, that's why you should never trust girls" Jake gave me a reasonable advise.

We had finally our second class which was class 2-D-6.

And yet again we were met by a large amount of freshmen.

It was a large white room with nothing special inside.

"My name is George mark, but you can all call me Mr George".

"Now we'll start with the basics" Mr George said

"Now divine pets may be aggressive, and it may be hard for you to get a contract with them, there are only two ways for you to get a contract with a divine pet, either you render it useless and powerless, torture it to the point where it chooses to have a contract with you, but that would be inhumane and you all are to weak to achieve such feat" mr George explained

"The second way is to show it that you're trust worthy, show it that you're the right one to bond with for eternity" Mr George said.

Someone among the other students raised his hand for a question, and no it wasn't Tony it was me

"Yes, you have a question..."

"Uhm... Mr George, can one have access to more than one divine pet" I asked.

I was trying to figure out if it was a possible thing to achieve as I had done it but never seen someone with more than one divine pet.

"No, you cannot do such a thing as having two or more divine pet would tear the very fabric of your soul or worse, in short, having two divine pet would either make you insane or kill you, so don't go running looking for two divine pets to get a contract with" after giving me an answer Mr George continued his teachings.

After the question I had just asked everyone was looking at me like some selfish idiot who wanted more than one divine pet but that was the least of my worries

"If what Mr George said was true, that can only mean sooner or later I could go insane or maybe I could... Die" I mumbled

"Now I was in the middle of a life and death situation which my parents had placed me in".

The class was over and I didn't even hear a thing as my mind was lost in thought.

"Hey dude, why did you ask that question, are you planning on having two monster contract" Jake asked.

"No, that's not it, I was just asking..."

"Don't worry about that, to tell you the truth... You're not the only one who've thought about that but due to my family's standard I left that thought behind" Jake said trying to lighten the mood but that wasn't my problem

"I need to find a way to get rid of all these divine pets" I thought

"Hey jake... Uhm... is there any way for you to cancel a contract with a divine pet" I asked Jake as we walked out of the class.

"Huh... What do you mean"
