The Younger Ai Yue

In the last chapter, Aunt Su Li made fun of Ai Yue for not having a boyfriend.

Ai Yue didn't find it hard to sleep; she just laid down on the bed, and soon she slept. As she fell asleep, she was teleported to her dreams. Her usual dreams are weird, with clumsiness added to the mix. But this dream is different. She was first teleported back to when she was in primary school, right at the moment when she confessed to the first crush she ever had.

She was just 12 at the time, and her crush was a tall, handsome individual named Axel. He is handsome in Ai Yue's eyes, but to others, he is just another nerdy boy on his way to school. Axel was at the top of the class and always got praise from teachers. The class wasn't the best, but he managed to score way better than the other students in the class. Nevertheless, he is just another intelligent student. Ai Yue was intrigued by his intelligence and fell in love with him. To be very honest, she didn't know what the concept of love was. At that age, anyone would have liked anyone superficially. She tried different ways to make him like her—weird ways, I must say. Ai Yue tried to score a better grade than Axel, but each time she failed. He was just so high up in the game that Ai Yue couldn't catch up. The only subject she could succeed in was English.

The moment she confessed her feelings to Axel was in the middle of the year. Axel was getting confused as to why Ai Yue was doing so many weird things, such as trying to beat him in tests and even stalking him on the internet by following his siblings.

"I just wanted to know more about you!", Ai Yue blushed.

"Don't tell me you like me." Axel teased.

Ai Yue's face grew even redder, and she nodded.

"Ai Yue, you are a kind girl. But I have a crush on Queenie (a classmate from the same class)!"

Ai Yue looked at him and burst out crying. Axel was worried as this girl was his friend, and he hurt her feelings by rejecting her. The moment Axel placed his hand on Ai Yue, she flinched and said, "It's okay; don't comfort me... Please give me time alone."

Ai Yue cried for days and couldn't even get over him, even years later. During the first year after her confession, she would still look at his Instagram and Facebook to see what he was doing in high school. Some days, she would even cry about it. She is still friends with Axel, but she isn't as close to him as before. She would still text him and even ask for homework help, even though they were at different schools. After a while, Ai Yue decided to move on, and she started liking another guy from her class.

This guy was a special one. His name is Jun, the charming boy in school. He is one to treat her with respect and gratitude. He isn't one of those guys who would make use of her to their hearts' content. He would invite her to play Call of Duty with him. Jun would also invite Ai Yue for lunch, and soon she started having a crush on Jun. Again, Ai Yue isn't a girl who understands love, and this is how she had a crush on the second guy.

Jun is a guy who is one of the popular boys at school. He would usually receive chocolates from girls on Valentine's Day, and he never thought he would, as he felt he looked normal. Jun also had so many love confessions that he was surprised by the number of them he received. He was especially surprised by Ai Yue's confession.

Before the confession, an incident happened. During physical education in school, Ai Yue was placed in a group with boys, and it just so happened that Jun was also in it. They were going to play captain's ball, and she was the only girl in the group. During the game, she was unable to catch high balls. Then, when it was her chance to receive the ball, another classmate took it from her. She got so sad and upset that she wasn't of any help to her group. Then, afterwards, when class ended, she immediately left the sports hall. She thought no one was going to notice her upset look, but someone did. Jun saw it and talked about it with his best friend.

"I really feel sorry for Ai Yue. If Kai (the guy who stole the ball) hadn't stolen the ball from her, she would've been so upset and sad about it,", Jun said sadly.

"I am also very upset that Kai even did that; did he even care about how Ai Yue would feel?", Jun continued.

"Do you like Ai Yue?", his best friend said. Jun shook his head and looked at his best friend truthfully. His best friend told him, "She is planning to confess to you today; I heard it from my girlfriend that she would."

Suddenly, Jun's phone rang.

"Hi Jun, Sorry for disturbing you, but when you read the message, please don't panic. I would like to say, I like you, Jun! If you are not alright with it, it's okay!", the text read.

When Jun received that text, he wasn't sure how to reply to Ai Yue at all. He didn't expect a friend of his to confess to him. "Such a coincidence...", Jun looked at his best friend.

He didn't reply to her at all until he got home. Instead of replying to her with a long message, he replied with an emoji. He replied to her with a sad face emoji.

Ai Yue, on the other hand, was disappointed. She was expecting a rejection, but she didn't think she would be rejected by Jun, as they were close to one another.

"It's okay, Jun. Let's just stay as friends and let's put this behind us,", Ai Yue texted back.

Again, Jun replied with a sad face emoji. Ai Yue turned off her phone and turned on the television to watch some dramas. She wasn't pissed. She wasn't sad. She just wanted to relax and forget about this whole confession that happened.

Slowly, she started to feel sleepy and fell asleep.
