Chapter 90: Rest

~Third POV~

The Magic Council is the ruling body of the world of Magic, run by a combination of regular people and Mages with different hierarchy branch systems dependent on the continent.

As the main ruling body of the entire Magic world, the Council possesses almost utmost control over it, acting as a leading government of sort, which divides out into each continent being run by a specific council.

The Council rules all of the legal Guilds scattered throughout Earth Land, overseeing them and keeping them in check, and they are responsible for the events caused by Mages, also possessing the right to punish Mages who break the law and to confiscate magical artifacts which could potentially cause large-scale damage.

Among the things prohibited by the Magic Council is the use of Magic for assassination, something which, if perpetrated, could lead the Council to oust the offender's guild. The Council has the right to apprehend Mages charged with crimes anytime, with their messengers being highly respected.

Even if something is white, once a Council member says it's black, then it becomes black, showing that the Council's authority is extremely large in the Magic world.

However, despite this, the Council is known for sometimes displaying its power as a mere formality, finding scapegoat Mages and trying them of recent, calamitous happenings just to subsequently release them without any punishment.

Heavy incidents happening in the Magic world might inflict serious damage to the Council's reputation, going as far as to cause the dismissal of one or more of its members.

With that, the two members of the chat group went to their new destination of heading to Sun Village in hopes of going to achieve the corpse of the guardian of its place the corpse of the Dragon Atlas Flame.

The two obtained the current version of the map as they flew using the Pterodactyl Danger Beast to quickly fly a large distance across the Fiore Kingdom.

They kept to the sky above the clouds to make sure they stay hidden from the view of the people's Kingdom and wore disguises just in case. Unlike before though they have to guard themselves against magic surveillance from the Magic Council.

So, for the time being, they made sure to keep to the sky long enough to ensure they keep their distance a minimum but at times the distance is too vast to cover in one day so they took breaks from time to time.

As well for the Pterodactyl needed time to rest for flying above the sky for long periods as it needed food as well. Fortunately, at those times Tatsumi took the breaks in real-world time as he feeds the large Danger Beast cooked meat from their word.

Currently, the two sat in the campfire they created as Tatsumi Pterodactyl was sleeping trying to reserve some energy as the two stood looking at the night.

Devouring a piece of their meal the two of them began to make small talk to each other as Tatsumi was the first as he ask honestly curious about Hinata's life, "Say Hinata how has life been treating you ever since you have joined the Group Chat?"

Hinata smiles over that as she responds to Tatsumi getting closer to him for warmth and personal reasons, "I would say it has been a great experience thus far. To be able to enjoy something like this simple small time of peace… is something really rare back home."

Hinata at this being reminded of her home sighs at this as she asked Tatsumi as they gaze of the night sky inside a forest, "Tell me Tatsumi why is it the ninja world from where I live is always so… dangerous with everyone wanting something to the death? You seem to know the answer to these kinds of questions?"

Tatsumi thinks for a bit before he comments to Hinata about his views on humans as he continues to view the sky, "Greed. People are greedy creatures willing to do anything for what they want. The people in your world works on ninja and that crap. Have you ever wondered why you ninjas always fight for the dumbest reasons?"

At this Hinata glares at him for that because her world history was always filled with talks of peace and for the people who died to preserve the Will of the Fire. Something that all Ninja Villages have been discussed one way or another.

But to Tatsumi, that's just another form of brainwashing as he noticed the hostility of Hinata's emotions.

He shrugs it off as he asked something strange to Hinata with a curious expression on her face as he talked as if not caring, "Well since you don't know it's because they fight for something that will bring bloodshed because they chose to. Everyone fights because they want something from them but the amount of bad blood between you is so bad that it's nearly impossible to even know the peace that only another fight is waiting to happen."

At this Hinata looks confused as Tatsumi looks over as he tries to make it simple for her to understand as he wanted to speak what was on his mind, "Sigh… what I mean is you fight for something so pointless… you fight for something for the village this and village that… it's just so… stupid. Do you fight for a village that causes problems and makes enemies on everyone? What's the point of fighting for a war-loving place like that?"

Now, this was Tatsumi turned to be somewhat surprised about Hinata shaking her head offended at this as she comments on his views of her village, "No. That is where you wrong the village of Konoha is peaceful. Our Hokages have defended our home in the name of peace! I know our village is – "

That was when Tatsumi interrupted her on that as he continues to speak about his views about Hinata village as he knows that her village is the literal problem to society ever created as he talks, "Sorry Hinata but when some guy still kills people to protect their homes I can get. But when you have multiple wars and civil upsets. People in your world simply just like it in my eyes as in war is life for you people."

Narrowing her eyes at him Hinata puffs her face not believing it as Tatsumi sighs in his head as he looks away from her as continues to look at the sky as he thinks to himself, 'Great… I guess working with Ruby made her more mature but then comes to the issue with Hinata. She may be a likable girl but that brainwashing of the Will of the Fire though… is going to be an issue to handle.'

Shaking her head Hinata then opens her eyes as she realized remembering something as she stated to him with eager eyes as she talked, "In that case how about when this quest is over I show you around Konoha! I'll prove to you that we aren't exactly like those people we see in your eyes! Trust me on that!"

Glancing at her eyes Tatsumi faked his expression with a pensive look thinking to himself what he truly thought, 'Yeah… no I still believe that place is nothing but trouble. It should be destroyed entirely for the fact that place birth the greatest villains Madara, Orochimaru, Itachi, Sasuke, Tobi, and Danzo. That place is nothing but trouble really.'

That was when Tatsumi nods in agreement to visit the village in the future of her home village of Konoha but in secret prepares for a possible war against them and especially Danzo for the future.

Unlike most people, he won't go attack people who are morally gray as he was for the same reason he didn't kill Dorothea in his world. It was within her right to attack him as he did kill off her projects and asked to be her student.

The difference between her and Daphne is that while Dorothea has other targets to attack she doesn't exactly go after innocent people but Daphne, on the other hand, would just to get research. The reason why he killed Daphne was one she was out of control and had to put her down once her resources were used, and two it was more useful for him to get a mage that is more than willing to have stealth based abilities for him.

But people like her and Danzo it's not a matter of just killing them it's a matter of time before they became a threat to him. Leaving them alive would be a matter of how long Tatsumi can play to have them around before they bite back.

Tatsumi is realistic in his choice as having an enemy like Daphne live with her abilities would be foolish to have her live after robbing her would likely do something to get back at him. Fortunately, he had a better alternative for his complete benefit with his Teigu getting help from her as a walking puppet dead but useful.

Hinata merely smiles at this snuggling closer to Tatsumi as she felt happy thinking to herself about the situation, 'Yes! I finally get the show him my home village of Konoha. I'll prove to him we aren't people just wanting war. I know he's very negative, but I hope to change his views and hopefully more…'

With that, the two spent the whole night watching the night sky as Hinata took the first lookout as Tatsumi fell asleep making sure to reserve his energy.

As he began to fall asleep, he saw their guard being Daphne's corpse as he mused sickly at the choice, he picked but felt it was best for the situation as he thought to himself, 'Killing her was a better choice than leaving her alive. The best kind of enemy is a dead one and she is intelligent as well as deadly with her magic to trap people would be very troublesome for me in the future. Good thing I have another option of recruiting her using [Yatsufusa] since it was too wasteful for her to simply be dead.'

The Teigu [Yasufausa] ability is that is able to control a maximum of eight corpses of those whom it has killed. The user could also manipulate the skills and abilities the reanimated corpses had in life.

As such the skills and intelligence that Daphne had as a mage carried over to her corpse along with her own magic being used.

[Concealment Magic]: A Darkness-type Magic can create an illusory place in a different dimension invisible from the outside. Somehow, Daphne is able to create a pocket dimension, trapping her captives in an illusory inn with a barrier that can deflect attacks.

[Hidden Darkness]: As an ex-citizen of the City Without Sound she is capable of using this spell to hide herself. The nature of this Magic seems to turn the user into a shadow-like being to avoid harm. She is also capable of putting a seal on this spell, thus making anybody using it being unable to change back.

[Hidden Cage]: She has shown the ability to create an illusory location, such as an inn, to trap people inside it. Also being able to choose who will be inside, and who will be outside.

Using her abilities Tatsumi and Hinata just remained safe along with Pterodactyl with the puppet using Daphne magic of its [Concealment Magic] to ensure safety and possibly better used in stealth in the future.

While he had his guard down Hinata just snuggles closer to him to give him warmth as she brings out her adult novel reading everything about what to do on this step written by the famous author Jiraiya.

She reads the adult novel of Icha Icha.

Icha Icha Paradise is the first in the series, written in three parts. Its plot is summarized as: "The main character and heroine, both new to love, begin dating, and their eyes gradually open to grown-up love."

Reading the book she ever closer to his lips as she silently reads the book following the steps as her face blushed to get bolder and closer to his lips…

A/N: Thanks for your suggestion of ending her and giving me reasons why Tatsumi killing her was justified and realistic not leaving an enemy like her life especially with her magic. It was the best choice in the current situation unless you want someone with her power coming after you with traps or worse...
