Chapter 8: First Quest

~Third POV~

Tokonosu City is a fairly large city in Japan. It has its offshore international airport and a local shopping mall.

The police work out of the East and Higashi Police Station. Fujimi Academy is a local high school. The Takagi Estate is located within the city and home to the nationalist leader and his family. A park is also located along the river.

Shintoko Third Elementary School is one of the city's elementary schools. There are also Sevenson stores and gas stations located throughout the city.

Fujimi Academy is the high school where Takashi Komuro, Saeko Busujima, Rei Miyamoto, Saya Takagi, and Kohta Hirano are students.

It is also the school at which Koichi Shido is a teacher and Shizuka Marikawa works as a nurse. It is the location Takashi and the rest of the main group, other than Alice Maresato and Zeke, were during the initial outbreak.

It is a boarding school, so Takashi and the others were living there at the time of the outbreak.

Fujimi Academy is on a large campus with multiple buildings in a fenced and gated area. The main building and at least two other buildings are four stories tall and connected by walkways on the 2nd and 4th floors.

In addition to the main building where most classes are held, there is an administrative office building, a dorm building, and several smaller buildings. The largest of these smaller buildings appears to be a gymnasium.

On top of the administration office building, there is an observatory that extends above the rest of the school and contains a large telescope and a room for Astronomy students to sleep in.

The interior of the school looks like a typical school in that there are hallways lined with classrooms running throughout the building and many stairways in different locations around the school.

Fujimi Academy has students in the first through third years of Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors of high school, and students range in age from about 15 to 18.

As with many schools in Japan, female students wear sailor outfits and male students wear the military-style gakuran. The sailor blouses are white with green collars and a black bow on the front and are paired with a green skirt.

The gakuran are black and consist of a long-sleeved jacket and matching pants although some students such as Kurokami, Okada, and Yamada have been shown without the jacket.

While some characters wear long-sleeved white dress shirts underneath the jacket, there does not appear to be a strict dress code, as others wear a variety of shirts instead.

Campus life for the students seems at least somewhat leisurely. When not in class, students can engage in soccer, ping pong, and other extracurricular activities. Students such as Takashi, Morita, or Saya in the anime, and Imamura have been seen skipping class without fear of repercussion, so it seems attendance is not heavily enforced.

Fujimi Academy is a boarding school, so it is implied that the students all live on campus in the dorms, but it has been stated that most students are from Tokonosu City.

It can also be assumed that, since it is a boarding school, it is also a private school. This is further evidenced by the fact that some of the students who attend the school are from affluent or well-known families.

~Saeko POV~

Ugh…

Waking up today in the morning as I was freshening up inside my father's dojo in Tokonosu City somewhere far from the Fujimi Academy and I woke up getting dressed.

Seeing what Tatsumi does and his actions make me very jealous at times as he's able to release his violent but sadistic tendencies at his enemies without mercy. That part of him makes me feel quite envious actually.

To be fully able to release his sadistic and evil tendencies like that…

I envy him greatly because of that reason alone. His free from the modern responsibilities in my world since he can act how he pleases even releasing his outlet.

Although it did come off as odd how the Tatsumi I saw was extremely different from the ones I read in the manga and anime adaptation. Is there probably another side of him I'm not aware of by chance?

I mean the way he acted so carefree with his idiotic smile while saying cruel stuff was extremely out of character. But with the way his story was, I would assume that he's not exactly right in his head.

But at the very least his sane as he is and spoke to us like normal people. Perhaps am I mistaken for him while I thought he was like the idiot original his being too calm and collective at times but I'm not sure.

Hmm…

No, I think I'm possibly reading too much into it because if I began to doubt Tatsumi being extremely different then the same would be said about our Ninja friend Hinata. I may not know a lot about Naruto, but I do that they do become a couple in the future.

So her explaining that she wasn't interested in him because he rejected her would be stupid as I think the movie forced it to happen. Maybe it was how my world interpreted Tatsumi that I thought was how he was supposed to act.

Sigh…

But concerning his reasoning and his logic to become stronger at a young age then I would have to say this might fit his personality but I'm not sure…

Shaking my head a bit I began to get dressed ready for the academy as I talk to myself getting already distracted as I was wasting time, "Sigh… Saeko what am I doing? I have no time to worry about this. I should be concerned with my life issues right about now than some – "

*Beep*

That was when I heard a beeping sound from the chat group as I took the chance to look and…

This has got to be some sick joke, right?

~Tatsumi POV~

*Splat*

95… 96… 97…

*Splat*

98… 99… 100… 101…

Right now, I'm doing my pushups to pass the time as I began to work up the sweat outside in the forest area near our home. I usually do this to pass the time or focus on my body strength while I'm being weighed with boulders tied around my limbs.

I try to increase my weight by doing this kind of weight training.

Still, though it has been a few days when I met the other members and I have to say they are unique.

Ruby is the same despite my negative attitude from our previous encounter tries to be friendly all the time. Honestly, it's kind of refreshing with her positivity being around.

Saeko is an interesting character as she tries to find ways for her to not give in to her impulses of inflicting harm with pleasure. Still, though she's good with a sword but not enough to be a good fighter unless she gets a power-up.

Hinata is improving at least as she's been training again with her Ninja techniques but also her mental health. At least she isn't going to become a stalker anymore that in itself is an improvement.

But still, I wonder just how far this waiting is going to last before the first quest comes…

[Ding! First Quest of the Dimensional Group Chat!]

Well, I should've been very careful of what I wanted now. But I wonder how this chat group would gauge our current strength?

I mean we have in our team is a huntress in training, captain of her club in kendo, a ninja, and me the assassin/warrior/material artist. I wonder what kind of mission we get that we are being compared to in the beginning.

I for one would like to honestly test out what my current strength is like against them. But excitement for later being serious on the quest would take priority.

Well, let's see if we can handle this one. I hope it's a bit easier but if Ruby was added…

Then it might be something difficult at the very beginning and that is very worrying if that is the case.

Because of that, it would imply that the chat group itself would already know what we have to complete ahead of time…

That is honestly a bad feeling when an emotionless tool already knows the results itself if we can't adapt to our situation.

Liberate the Conomi Islands from the Arlong Pirates?

There are few that talk about this subject but if I were to take a good guess here then it would mean we're going to the world of One Piece. This could be quite problematic for us in the strength department but interesting at the same time.

But knowing the protagonist luck of Ruby from RWBY, Saeko from Highschool of the Dead, and I as Tatsumi surviving my world Akame ga Kill finding a devil fruit from there is a pretty good chance of finding it by luck or have the main cast be around.

Then there's Hinata the side turn the main character from Naruto, but I wonder why give us this mission first?

And also why shouldn't the main cast have already done it by then or is it in the past it's happening? Is there something else happening that was not aware of yet?

Maybe I'm overthinking it a bit. First, see what the situation is like before jumping to any concrete conclusions or anything else what I need is information first.
