Chapter 42

"Here you go." Floramon said softly, handing you a glass of soda as you kicked back and relaxed on a deck chair in your private server under the lovely blazing sun.

Funny thing. Because your body is physically in Eden now, things like this? Well, you can actually satiate yourself on the food you coded within your server for your digimon, and even get a tan.

"Thanks sweetie," you patted her gently on the head as you took the glass and she beamed while looking to the side with a slight flush on her cheeks.

Such a good, helpful girl. You were glad you had hatched her and another from eggs recently.

"I sensed a disturbance in the flow of destiny during the night." your attention was drawn to Hackmon standing atop a large rocky outcropping in the sand he'd requested - see near begged - you to code into the beach, staring off into the distance with a frown on his draconian face, and eyes set harshly

"Ya probably just needed a shit." Devimon piped up from where he lazily sprawled over a large towel, under a parasol at your side.

Hackmon snapped around to glare at the fallen angel digimon for interrupting his 'mysterious' and 'cryptic' knowledge, when the beach shook and you watched as Exveemon skipped across the sandy beach, once, twice, three times before landing with his head buried in the sand.

You heard Black Greymon X cheer and Garurumon howl in delight, even as Exveemon pulled his head out of the sand and laughed loudly, "A splendid strike my comrades!" the mythical dragon digimon complimented.

"..Damn meatheads.." Gatomon grumbled from her place in your lap.

"Keep it down morons!" Devidramon roared angrily from his hammock under the shade of the tree line, "I'm working here! Don't make me use my Dark Gale on you!"

"Ara, ara....are your days of relaxation always this rambunctious Hayato?" Ice Devimon giggled smoothly from its place under a second parasol to your other side. As an ice based digimon, they preferred to stay out of the sun, but it wasn't bad on them according to Ice Devimon at least.

You missed as Floramon switched the glare she had trained on Gatomon in your lap to Ice Devimon for drawing your attention.

"Well, there's never any quiet with those three," you rolled your eyes, nodding in their direction as Exveemon surged forward with a flap of his wings and planted a kick in Black Greymon X's chest, pushing him back, only for Garurumon to ponce up and body slam the dragon digimon into the sand.

After you had your fill of relaxation, you decided it was about time to get some jobs done. Granted, you were taking a break from combat based jobs. Devidramon's orders, he was apparently getting bothered by all the hectic fights you'd been getting into as of late, taking on two Ultimates just yesterday.

Only Black Greymon X, Garurumon and Exveemon had been outright disappointed by the fact that they wouldn't get to fight strong opponents today, so had taken to sparring along the beach.

So, making your way over to your giant demonic dragon, you started poking him on the side of his head, seeing as he was too busy laying down and typing away on a massive blue terminal screen with his giant clawed fingers.

"Stop that," he growled in annoyance, flicking you with one of his ears. If it weren't for your upgrades you'd have been sent flying.

"Don't be such a stick in the mud buddy," you rolled your eyes, "You need to lighten up and have some fun."

"I am having fun, unlike you and those three buffoon's tearing up the area, I don't need to be fighting to the death for a cheap thrill," he sniffed almost disdainfully at the thought, "Now are you ready to get to buisness? Some jobs have already disappeared from the website because some other team has completed them while you were relaxing like a deadbeat."

You winced a little Devidramon really wasn't happy that you had basically spent all your time loading data with your digimon and not turning a profit, which had been your original goal and one he had been one hundred percent behind.

You went to reply, "Oh and no combat jobs." Devidramon added promptly with a pointed glare of four crimson red eyes half the size of your body.

This time you rolled your eyes, "Yeah yeah, I know," you waved him off, "Now what kind of jobs are we looking at here?"

The two highest paying jobs would take the longest. Coding the tracking program to find the one guys Palmon in his private server. You already had a radar function in your digivice, really you'd just need to code it so he could only use it in his private server and lock the code so it couldn't be copied.

You didn't want anybody else getting your advantages. You liked to hoard them to yourself.

The next highest paying job, was actually for building up a private server that had just been created. Bit odd to get one of those, only one person had seen your private server so how anybody else could tell how good you were at building them was a mystery.

Still it wouldn't take as long as the tracking program. You could take care of the private server first and then finish up the day with the tracking program. Then tomorrow you could get your hands on that chrome digizoid.

Ten minutes later after accepting the job. You gout the URL sent to you. You decided only to take a few digimon with you, those being the three meatheads in Black Greymon X, Garurumon and Xveemon.

It was highly doubtful you'd get into a fight, but at the very least it would give the others some peace and quiet to relax.

So after leaving your private server behind, you entered the URL for your clients own and appeared in a shadowed area, the only thing present being the red platform railing you were standing on.

Oh, and the client herself.

"Took you long enough gogglehead," Ruki rolled her eyes with a huff, "I've been waiting for you to take this job since last night when I came across your website."

"You could have just called me you know?" you pointed out with a smile, walking over to her.
