Diary of a Teenage Alpha

Big-hearted and witty, Samantha Kingsley is the Alpha's daughter who grew up learning to meet everyone's expectations. But Samantha isn't a pup anymore, she's in high school now, and is just about to discover that her life is written by her choices. Not by dreams, or prophecies, or even the moon goddess. This girl is going to protect the happiness of her pack and everyone she loves. Read her diary here. Updated every night. Mon-Sat Volume Synopsis VOL 1 It's the first week of school. Despite my failed attempt to make a friend, I somehow ended up surrounded by a handful of wolf classmates, got accepted by the human "cool" girls, and became a vampire's guard dog? VOL 2 I think I'm just starting to get the hang of school. From navigating school halls, new friends, vampires, and school clubs... Back home it should have been the usual drill, but things started shifting. And I urm...might have been messing around where I shouldn't. VOL 3 I had to miss a couple of school days this week due to my ah, long term bout of "anemia". It's been pretty intense at home. My alpha position was challenged, rogues burnt down our home, I rescued my first fight dog, discovered the Lorent's secret oracle, almost rescued my mate...and accidentally stumbled into my Alpha Dad's secret. VOL 4 My worlds collide as some members from my pack come to my school to sell concert tickets. And when Grandpa Alpha shocked us all by dying, my dad's family comes together to pay their last respects at the Night Forest Pack. VOL 5 It's February and the Vampire Queen is celebrating her birthday. Would Rebel's plan to escape work out? Meanwhile, I'm stuck in school dealing with high school drama, an evolving wolf, and a new human sister. In the Red Packlands, war nearly breaks out. (This might have been a very little bit my fault.) VOL 6 It's the week of Valentine's Day, but I've got a highschool play, Lorent drama, Vampire slaying training, and an underground army to deal with first. And then warlock weather threw an extended snowstorm at us. The whole of Green Packlands goes into lockdown - but what about Valentine's Day? VOL 7 Exams are a week away, and it feels like my time at Winderhill is really coming to a close. I'm trying to be a good student, but there are paparazzi camped outside my school, I ran with rogues (I'm shocked too), Maria just had to enter her dark cycle in school...My life is too exciting to study for exams. VOL 8 It's exam week, but I've got far greater problems brewing at home. The prophecies are merging. River's stone had unlocked warlock trouble, the rogue king has moved in, and then there's Uncle Louis' economical problems... one at a time. Just let me survive Code Black and figure out what's going on at Heller's first, and I'm sure everything else will work out somehow. VOL 9 Its the last week of school and the exams are over. Its like for better or worse, all the big bad things are over now. At home, My pack works to clean up the aftermath of the rogue war, the warlock's defeat, and Jude's betrayal. In school, everyone treats me more or less the same... like a freak. Meanwhile, our school play is in dire straights, and as the Last Hurrah's debut draws near, I get ready to say good bye to Winderhill for good. VOL 10 We follow Dad to the past to stop the traitor (AKA Jude), from ever stepping into our Packlands. It would've been a good plan too - if it didn't change EVERYTHING. Now, I can't help but feel my life is ruined. Nobody understands me. Is it selfish of me to wish none of this ever happened? Why does my world have to be so magical?

A BAFFLING BREAK-IN

We all returned to our apartments. It seemed that out of the five apartments, only Grandma Luna's and ours had been breached.

MINDY'S SIDE OF THE STORY

Mindy and Grandma Luna had returned without suspecting anything. The front door was locked. Grandma Luna fell asleep in front of the television while Mindy busied packing for their long trip.

When Mindy went to the study to pack Grandma's favourite books, she found the safe door wide open. Terrified for her life, she informed Uncle Louis immediately.

Nothing was missing from the safe, and all the pieces were accounted for, except for Grandma's sapphire ring.

HANK'S SIDE OF THE STORY

Our family was supposed to leave immediately after returning from the graveyard so Hank was given the key card to our apartment to collect our luggages. He brought three warriors to help.

Like any sensible Delta, he knew better than to let random warriors into the Alpha's private quarters so he left the warriors at front door and went in to move the luggages out to them.

He found the Alpha's safe unwrapped and the door ajar. Nothing else seemed out of place, so he simply assumed that Dad had forgotten to shut the safe before leaving, furthermore, it looked like the laptop and documents in the safe were untouched. so he simply mindlinked Dad and with Dad's permission, shut the safe's door.

He was about to just continue the move as planned but he noticed the day curtain move. He went to check and found the window ajar and the snow disturbed along the window stile outside.

Like a well trained Delta, he refrained from touching anything else in the room. Instead he went to check the other rooms. Nothing was out of the ordinary till he came to our bedrooms.

Savy's room was a mess. Her bags were opened and her things were lying all over. Hank remembered me teasing Savy about being untidy, he hadn't expected it to such an extent, but he thought perhaps Savy was in a hurry? Anyway, he quickly opened my room door to check.

My room was worse. My luggage was emptied out. Even my backpack was poured out onto the bed. By now Hank was quite sure of the security breach, not because he was confident that his furture Alpha would never have left her room in a mess, but because he saw on the dresser a black number locked jewellery case, cracked open at the back and unscrewed at the hinges.

My watch and a gold bangle had been discarded on the dresser along with the box.

He retreated quickly to mindlink Dad. And later on to report to Beta Lucas.

Then he got Flynn who was supervising the final day cleanup of the warrior bunks to come over. The both of them scouted around the perimeter of the building. There were signs of someone scaling the wall, but curiously enough, the someone had scaled down from the rooftop and not up from the garden.

The both of them recorded some video footages showing where the snow had been disturbed on the buildings ledges. And then tried to go up to the roof but found all the entrances up securely locked. They asked about it (causally of course), and were told by their warrior friends here that the rooftop access is only given by Beta Larson or Alpha Louis' commands.

DAD'S SIDE OF THE STORY

Dad was undoubtedly disturbed when Hank had mindlinked about the opened safe, not so much because he felt confident he would never had left the safe door open, but because he remembered wrapping the safe last night, but he decided to let Hank deal with the investigation. His brothers were already at the cashier so he figured they would be heading back soon anyway.

He got into the car with me and waited for Hank's further report, when Uncle Louis came running out of the shop, little Eddy protesting over his shoulder.

Mum and Savy were soon in the car, and after Mum said Grandma's safe had not just been opened, but ransacked, Hank mindlinked back with the rest of his report to Dad.

Dad sort of put the two and two together but the thing that struck him was that Grandma's safe, presumably filled with jewellery had been ransacked, my jewellery box had been poured out. But his items (non jewelry) had been left untouched.

He mindlinked Beta Lucas to report a break in but told Hank to keep their investigation and details covert for now.

Especially since he heard ours were the only two apartments breached. He suspected an insider job immediately and also it seemed obvious that the thief was looking for only one particular thing.

"Your mother's ring!" Mum guessed, "This morning Louis had said she wasn't wearing a ring she usually wore!"

"Maybe the thief heard about it and decided to try his luck while we were out." Beta Lucas speculated.

I remembered Grandma Luna's words suddenly, "There are wolves who would kill their own bloodkin for it."

Oh goddess! Why did she give me this thing? Part of me hoped whoever was looking for it had found it because I sure didn't want it.

Killion excused himself to go repack our things. Mum decided to help with the repack. Dad and Beta Lucas went to check the laptop and documents to be very sure it hadn't been tempered or copied in anyway.

I really should go check on the ring. Grrr...

Savy got up with me with a sigh, "I guess I should help pack my things too."

In my own room, I saw the watch and bangle on the dresser with the broken jewelry case. Wow. They can unpick safes but can't figure out a number lock?

Ki came into the room then, he had the ziplock bag in his hand. I noticed my bed was cleared. He put the ziplock bag into my backpack, then he told me, "Might as well wear the watch and bracelet, goddess."

I nodded and put on the watch. Ki helped me clip on my bracelet and started folding and repacking the luggage.

"Is the... Is it..." I asked.

"Yes, goddess." Ki smiled, "It wasn't discovered."

"I'm so dead." I said.

"Leave it to me, goddess." Ki smiled again.

Savy opened the room door, "Uncle Louis is calling an emergency meeting right now. We have to go. Betas too."

Ki seemed to have just received the mindlink, "Roger that, Captain."

Savy cackled, "Dad said to hurry!"

Captain? What happened to milady? I decided not to ask what that was about. I made a move to follow Savy. Ki handed me my backpack. Yeah, I better keep that on me.

Sigh, why did Grandma have to saddle me with this thing? Grrr...

Opps, so short... hahaha.

I uploaded the next chapter too... so read on!

Enjoy the weekend!
