My heart felt heavy, and I wanted to cry out of frustration. This was the fourth day Tyrone hadn't shown up at school or work. Ever since that day we spoke at the hospital, he disappeared without a trace. Our plans to talk were always postponed because he was always absent.
"Maybe he's not going to pursue you anymore," a voice in my head said, but I quickly dismissed it. No, I knew Tyrone was patient, and even if that were true, I couldn't help but let out a sigh.
"The weather is scorching today, and yet you seem to be in a gloomy mood," Rye said, sitting beside me. I rolled my eyes at him.
"Tyrone still hasn't shown up. I'm worried there might be a problem," I said, resting my head on the table with my arm as a makeshift pillow.
"Are you saying he's avoiding you? Hmp! That's why I bumped into him at the lobby earlier!" Rye exclaimed, and I froze. What?! So, he's been on campus all this time, deliberately hiding from me. I couldn't help but feel angry.
