"It doesn't matter if I'm wrong about it, all that matters is doing something rather than doing nothing." I responded calmly and pulled back before adding. "I can guarantee you one thing, if we try doing the right thing and save those around us from dying or turning into something worse, then this place would become a ghost town. Do you not see that we're going crazy?!
There will be no one left unless I set things straight. We either die today or tomorrow."
I lifted up her chin and forced her gaze upward towards the heavens; a sky so bright and pure despite what transpired here. There is no salvation for me, but if the innocent must suffer from my sins, then let them suffer in peace knowing their end is near and I am the bringer of justice to end them from their suffering. This will not only spare the innocents of their sorrows, but also stop the cycle of hatred perpetuating the deaths of innocents across the land and creating a greater war which would ravage the land once again.
"Enzo is a fool to think he can kill me, however, a Reaper can never die unless someone else kills them."
Alicarra laid exhausted and broken on the ground, barely able to support herself upon her arms. "It's only a matter of time until Enzo figures it out and sends everyone after us."
"Who cares. We'll destroy all humans anyways," I chuckled. "Plus, do you think anyone could kill me?"
Enzo's Perspective:
This feeling is incredible. It feels amazing how everything can change so quickly as soon as one makes the choice to stand against their enemies. Or in my case the monster within. Everywhere I looked I saw devastation. Buildings that were once magnificent, destroyed, with huge pieces of broken debris lying around. Debris everywhere, charred and crumbling pieces. I watched as groups of soldiers gathered round the streets while citizens tried desperately to rebuild what they could.
"REAPER! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!" I shouted loudly.
He turned around facing me fully in the light of dawn, causing me to gasp in horror at the sight before me: He's been horribly scarred, burnt alive, or cut open by a knife.
There's dried blood dripping down from the wounds caused by those cruel cuts and burns on his hands. I can also see bruises and swollen eyes from having beaten down by fists. And last but not least his entire left arm, almost entirely detached from the body.
"That bastard Alicarra will pay for what she has done, she's more unhinged than her brother." He says as if it weren't important, his left bionic arm now useless and hanging limply at his side.
The veins in my forehead pop, rage exploding inside me at that remark, I run forward recklessly throwing a punch straight into his face and breaking his jawbone.
I roared, lunging at the bastard and tearing chunks out of flesh, leaving horrible gashes.
But he doesn't even budge an inch despite how weak his legs look right now, I slam both fists onto his ribs repeatedly trying to force him over with all of my strength.
"TAKE OFF THAT MASK YOU COWARD!" I shout angrily, his face is hidden behind a silver mask.
After smashing him once in the face a few times with another punch to the gut I feel his head slam violently back onto the floor, but rather than continue on with trying to break my own fists.
Instead, I simply reach forward, grabbing at the back of his collar with two hands and dragging him forward until our foreheads touch. I hold him up off the ground and his back goes limp slightly from exhaustion as I stare deeply into his dark black iris's, barely visible through the shadow of the hood and mask.
We both look like monsters staring each other down in some weird death match, the air becomes cold, I can feel his heart racing as well and both his eyes dart quickly to stare off beyond me, looking for the girl whose left to rot nearby.
"What are you? what is your name?" I asked calmly, staring deep into his dark eyes, almost hypnotically.
He stays motionless with his eyes locked onto hers, not daring to say anything nor make a move.
Alicarra managed somehow manage to remain conscious while laying down next to the ground, clearly losing the willpower to stay awake for any longer but forcing herself anyway.
Reaper says lowly, venom and blood dripping off his tongue in an icy tone, "She...has caused me a great deal of pain and sorrow. The person I cared about the most, she made fun of him."
With a flash, I toss a kunai toward his mask.
For a brief moment, it stayed suspended in mid-air right before his face, then it dropped soundlessly onto the ground. I watched Reaper catch it easily and twirl around on the hilt, not even bothering to take a peek beneath it.
"You're pathetic...aren't you Reaper? If so then show me! I know there must be some type of good left within your being," I murmured.
"Enzo, you say all of these vile things, but you truly know nothing about me." He replies.
Reaper smirked when the dagger finally sank deeply into the hilt and my vision swam before me. His shadow shifted slightly under the night sky before the figure vanished entirely, leaving only the faint outline of his silhouette behind.
"Enzo, you know you can't handle the truth," He spoke in a low voice that caused a chill to run down my spine, my heart dropped when I realized the Reaper is gone.
And his voice no longer carried with it the dark sinister tone from moments earlier. "GOD DAMNIT, I'LL FUCKING KILL HIM!" I bellowed, dropping to my knees. I quickly picked up the dagger Reaper used, examining the markings.
Suddenly my attention shifted elsewhere when my body stiffened.
"Stop crying already," Rayne commented, crossing her arms.
Sora's Perspective:
"I have a new plan in mind; this will definitely get the attention of the Elite 10; it has to." I say, taking a breath in.
"Alright, what should we do first my lord?" Xavier asked.
"The plan is fairly easy, we attack the palace where the royal family lives. All of the Elite 10 will rush over to the palace and that's when we kill them all."
"How would you like us to do it? If they arrive early that would create an issue wouldn't it?" A man with a gruff voice said.
"Don't worry. If it comes down to the Elite 10 going earlier, I'll take the throne for myself. I have a different agenda in mind."
"So, what exactly is your main objective?" Xavier asked.
I turned around to look at him before answering, "To make sure my name is known throughout the entire continent, I want to strike fear in the eyes of everyone who has ever lived, this world needs to be corrected."
"Master Reaper..." I smiled widely with excitement when my head snapped in his direction after hearing my name called out so nicely. "I swear by all my oaths and faith, your words ring true. You'll take away from humanity itself and teach us that one person can change a nation! I'll help you every step of the way, from here to the end of time!" He knelt down on the marble floor before my throne, bowing respectfully. "No matter how brutal or twisted this future shall come to be, I will support and follow you wherever your path takes you, till death takes its hold upon me. But only after we create a new future! " He ended his words.
I grinned brightly, glad the mage finally came around and understood the meaning behind our mission. "Xavier, we should take our leave now." Xavier nodded his head, agreeing.
I placed my hand on Xavier's face and teleported us in front of the palace entrance, arriving just in front of the towering gates that surrounded the whole compound.
"My lord... should I activate my magic?" Xavier asked me while rubbing his chin, deep in thought, wondering if it'd be a good idea to start the fight.
"Oh yea, we might need to use some heavy firepower to take them out if the Elites decide to attack prematurely," Xavier chuckled slightly in agreement with the statement before pulling out his wand.
