Chapter 2: Who Stole The Pencil Case?

The next day, before the first lesson, John, Sam and Mary went to Tommy's seat.

"Did you steal my pencil case?" asked Mary. "No," he said.

"What were you doing in yesterday's last lesson then?" she continued. "I was sleeping the whole time," he replied. "I hate Maths."

"YOU WERE SLEEPING THE WHOLE TIME???" said Sam. "The teacher told you not to last time!"

"Err..." Tommy was embarrassed.

"Never mind," said John. "Let's ask Daisy after school."

However, Daisy left the classroom quickly after school. "Hmm..." said Sam. "That is suspicious."

The next day, they saw Daisy on the way to school. "Hey, Daisy!" John yelled, and catched up with her.

"Did you steal Mary's pencil case?" he asked. "No," she said. "I was chatting with Alex at that time."

"YOU WERE CHATTING WITH ALEX AT THAT TIME???" said Sam. "The teacher told you not to last time!"

"Err..." Daisy was embarrassed.

"Never mind," said John. "However, how do you know when did Mary lost her pencil case?"

"Err... Mary told me about that yesterday..."

"Oh yeah, Mary also left after the bell rang," said Sam. "so that's possible."

"Ok," said John. "Thanks for your information."
