Murderer

Inko watched in abject horror as her son, her Izuku bit down and stole the knife from Hisashi's hand, just in time to take a pair of kicks launching him over the couch.

"Izuku… run… please…" Inko sobbed watching her son stagger and with a cruel smile plastered across his face, lunge once more at Hisashi even as emerald flames washed across and scorched his face. Like a demon, Izuku's whole body, alight in emerald flames landed atop Hisashi plunging the knife deep into his shoulder.

"Izuku? Is that… you?" Who was this dangerous person? That was not her son, just like how that couldn't really be Hisashi. What sort of terrible nightmare must this be?

"GAH! YOU FUCKING WASTE! WHY DON'T YOU JUST DIE!" the man who was not Hisashi shouted before breathing emerald, no black flames which tore through the house like a storm. They brought fire to all of the space around them, it pulled the air out of her lungs. She couldn't breathe! This must be a nightmare… this was too awful to be real.

The boy who was fighting the black fire breathing monster rolled through the fire, seemingly completely unaware of the growing burns covering his body, and ducked into the kitchen.

"Get back here you fucking brat" the monster seethed, pulling the knife out of his shoulder and stalking over to the kitchen.

'I should help that boy, he's no match against that villain' Inko told herself, determined not to miss a thing. On shaking arms and legs, she crawled around the corner to the kitchen just in time to watch the boy be sliced across the face. The roar he let out was animalistic and feral, like that of a killer… 'who is this boy? Should I be helping the man? Why are these evil people in my home?' Inko cried to herself.

The boy ripped a blade out of the man's side- 'wait, is that the fish knife!?' she watched on in horror as the boy tore the serrated blade out from the man's side, splattering himself in gore with that same evil smile affixed to his face. The boy slipped through the man's legs turning and hacking at the back of the man's knees. The sound of steel on bone made all of the hairs on Inko's body stand straight. She had heard that it was a sound worse than nail on a chalkboard, but this was beyond uncomfortable, it was scarring. Her mind came to a halt as the boy mounted the man's now prone back and let out another terrifying screech, driving the fish knife down into the man's head.

As the adrenaline began to recede, she smelt it, burning flesh and blood, after the display she had just witnessed she vomited. It was disgusting, the tears and vomit made her feel as terrible as she felt. The stab wound that the man who was not her husband had given her felt like a mix between stubbing a toe and getting burned, it was a present, hot pain. She couldn't imagine what the boy must be feeling.

"Never fucking hurt my family again asshole" the boy let out before falling into a lump on top of the man he had just murdered. He was still bleeding profusely and was sitting in the middle of a fire, clothes singed and smoldering in places.

'family?' that would mean that it was revenge, it definitely wasn't her boy. Taking a closer look, he had tattoos too, what sort of terrible parents would raise a tattooed murderous boy like that? Certainly not her.

She didn't know how long she laid there, staring at the boy laid out across the man while her home burned around her, it felt like hour until the front door was kicked in.

"We are the Hero Duo, Water Hose! We are here to help!" came a pair of voices in the direction of the front door. Immediately a deluge of water began to wash over the apartment. The pair made their way into the apartment coming across Inko first.

"Help… the boy too" Inko whimpered.

"Of course, ma'am" the male hero assured, directing his partner to secure the boy. The wave of relief that poured over Inko at that moment allowed her to fall into an exhausted sleep. Soon this terrible dream would be over… right?

When Izuku came to, the first thing that struck him was the unbelievable amount of pain that crossed the whole of his body as he shifted. His eyes were crusted close, he could tell by how hard they were to open. The smell of antiseptic struck him immediately, he had been to enough hospitals to know the scent intimately. The steady pulse of the EKG grounded the blinded greenette. He was alive…

"Oh, it seems our patient has woken up" Came a male voice. "secure the room, I need to have a word with the boy before anything else." The shuffling of footsteps filled the room, seems he had guests. "Welcome back to the world of the living Midoriya," The voice was cheery, like it wasn't talking to a wound covered murderer. "Ordinarily, you wouldn't wake up after what you did, but I made a promise to Dragon to help with whatever comes next," Dragon? That must be the name of the villain who attacked his family, that meant this person was somehow connected, this was another villain. "of course, I never would have expected that you'd kill your Daddy, but color me surprised. I'll take care of you and your mother's bills. You have my condolences. I hope to never see you again brat." More footsteps this time leaving the room.

'How long have I been out?' Izuku wondered to himself, still in a daze from waking up. Shifting again, he let out a groan, his whole body felt like it was on fire, which considering he had been on fire wasn't overly surprising he supposed. Still this pain was in his muscles, not like a burn he decided.

Reaching up with his arms, though quickly abandoning his left as the shooting pain reminded him of the massive blow it had sustained, Izuku rubbed his eyes. Or eye, the right side of his face was completely covered in bandages 'oh right, he slashed my face too' Izuku thought grimly.

Finally cracking his eye open, Izuku winced painfully as the sterile white of the hospital room stung his eye. The room was unlike the ones he was used to, he was alone, not kept with other patients. Then he remembered, he had killed the villain who broke in and threatened his mother…

'MOM!' Izuku's mind shouted. The measured beeps of the EKG began to pick up the pace. 'Is she okay? I need to get to her! I need to know if she's okay! Where is she!?' His thoughts began to darken and grow desperate and angry. The EKG was setting off alarms now. 'If she is hurt, I need to get her help NOW!' Izuku felt the same tug at his heart he had when he saw the villain standing over his mother. 'I need to get up! I need to help her! If that villain hurts her, HE IS A DEAD MAN!' The EKG's beeps were loud and frequent but pushed to the back of Izuku's mind.

'Get up. Get up. Get up. Get up. GET UP. GET UP. GET UP. GET UP! GET UP! STAND THE FUCK UP!' His heart burned, his skin stung, muscles tensed. Izuku let out a ragged breath. "Get… UP!" Came a foreign raspy voice, filled with anger. Izuku was on fire again, it hurt a thousand times worse than getting stabbed, but he forced himself up. Izuku's vision darkened around the corners, but he pushed past it. Swinging his legs over the side of the bed and pushing off, he collapsed into a pile on the floor, pulling the IV and monitors off harshly. "Mom…" Izuku let out an exhausted growl.

The EKG was blaring louder than ever, someone said something. Izuku paid it no mind as he struggled to his feet. Forcing his way to the door he was stopped by a short man wearing scrubs. Izuku had no time to bother with the distraction, with two swift blows, one to the ankle and the other to the man's crotch he was on the ground. Izuku stalked over him, dripping blood from his left arm where his wound had reopened having already stained the bandage crimson. Looking both ways, he paused, picking up a clipboard the man had been carrying.

Izuku Midoriya, Age 8, 122.4 cm, 28.4 kg, male Parent/Guardians: Hisashi Midoriya (Missing), Inko Midoriya (Room 413)

Brought in from villain attack with mother. Fought off villain but sustained the following injuries according to testimony from the mother, Inko Midoriya:

1 kick to the left lower leg resulting in minor bruising.

1 kick to the chest resulting in 4 bruised ribs on the right side of the chest.

Severe burns to the face from the villain's fire quirk.

Deep slashing wound to left arm just below elbow.

Gash from forehead to jaw on right side of face from a knife wound.

Minor burns covering the body due to being ignited by villain's fire quirk.

The following injuries and details were noted during and after surgery to save the left arm and right eye:

Massive tearing in muscles across the whole body. Tearing is indicative of extreme muscle overworking. No medical explanation found, though the topic of "hysterical strength" was suggested by nurse Shiroyami.

Subject's wounds seemed to be healing at a slightly accelerated rate. Advise reevaluation of quirkless status.

Tattoo on subject's back seems to shift periodically. Advise reevaluation of quirkless status.

Muscle density appears to account for unusually high weight (around 7 kg over expected value). Base assumption is double-muscle mutation resultant from a suspected mutation of Myostatin gene. Advise gene therapy. Advise reevaluation of quirkless status.

Note: At the request of the mother, Inko Midoriya, a DNA test was run on all subjects at the scene. She appears to be in a state of shock and refusal to accept that her son killed the villain. Advise keeping them separated for time being.

Izuku read as he made his way to the stairwell and began climbing. 'Dad is missing? Where the hell is he!' Izuku thought reading his father had disappeared. Reading on he was reminded of the fight, and rather than being disturbed he felt the rush of adrenaline flood his body once more. His pace quickened, coming to the second half of the report. 'I have a quirk?' stunned, he stubbled slightly before finishing the thought, 'good, it'll make killing that villain easier.' Izuku doubled his pace brushing past the useless information about the tattoo and DNA test. He had to get to his mother and make sure she was safe. Ditching the clipboard as he opened the door to the 4th floor, he quickly scanned for room 413.

Not minding the shocked gasps of the people around as they watched the bloody 8-year-old walk through the hall towards room 413, Izuku marched determined to secure his mother. 'She needs to be okay… if I see that villain again, I'll make him a corpse. Just like that Dragon asshole.' Suddenly someone reached out to grab him.

"Woah there kid, you shouldn't be here." Came the gruff voiced owner of the hand. Izuku grabbed it himself, spinning around and sweeping the man's leg.

"Back off. I'm going to see my mom" Izuku growled, eyes dark, glaring down at the man he had just thrown to the ground. Stepping up on his back and walking across the man, he slammed his foot down hard on the back of the man's head before coming across room 413.

Pushing the door open, he burst into the room, "Mom! Are you okay? Where is- "he started before being stopped, shocked and ducked under the vase that came flying from his mother.

"Get the hell away from me you murderer! You're not my son!" His mother screeched, throwing everything she could with her quirk at the intruding Izuku.

"What are you talking about! Mom! Its me! Izuku!"

"Liar! My baby could never kill! You're not him! Leave me Alone!" Punctuating her point as a tray flew and struck Izuku on the back of head.

Slightly dazed, Izuku failed to notice the nurses that had crept up behind him. Izuku failed to notice what else was on the tray that hit him. Izuku did not however fail to notice the needle inject him with a clear liquid. "What the FUCK IS THAT!" He screeched as he felt his muscles relax involuntarily. Struggling against the nurses that now held him, he continued to thrash until another injection brought him to sleep.

Ryosuke Takahashi did not enjoy his job. Being a doctor was never his dream, but it paid well enough for his passions and hobbies. 4 days ago, he was put in charge of the Midoriya family, and paid handsomely by a Mr. Yamada to make sure everything would be taken care of and kept quiet. He didn't particularly mind the implications of someone coming forward to pay for another family's medical costs after a villain attack, especially since the husband was missing. Still dealing with a hysterical mother and heavily wounded, on the brink of death boy was giving him grey hairs.

First the boy was in critical condition upon being brought in, as a quirkless patient, they were his favorite, so when the boy's wounds began closing while on the operating table Ryosuke began cursing his rotten luck. Seemed the boy had an invisible quirk, okay those were easy enough to deal with, usually they didn't cause major physiological changes. Then he saw the tattoo on the boy's back move and cursed to himself yet again. Not an invisible quirk. This could complicate the surgeries the boy needed.

The third twist was another one in a billion chance, the boy's muscle fibers were both incredibly dense and ripped apart. The boy did not look like a body builder so that would be the first dreaded physiological change. 'Not the worst possible change for him to have, doesn't change anything for his care. Maybe he will need additional protein to supplement his diet.' He had thought, on the scale of odd changes to people's bodies these were all very tame in comparison. Enhancement quirks typically increased the density of bone and muscle by a much more considerable margin. Regeneration quirks had a tendency to work much better than his currently was, with the standard being fixing a broken bone in a day, this kid's looked like it would take him a week or so.

But there were other issues he had to take up with the mother if she ever calmed down. The boy was clearly malnourished, and had numerous scars consistent with a variety of quirks. 'Does this kid go to fight clubs? How would the mother have not noted these?' He was a curious case for sure, invisible quirks had the odd tendency of being strange mutations sure, but the tattoo and the circumstances of the quirk appearing is what left him baffled. Quirks causing physical manifestations was nothing new, but if the mother's testimony was to be believed, something he did begrudgingly, the tattoo appeared after the incident.

"I need to order a quirk consultation for this kid" he sighed as he walked into the building and was immediately called to by a nurse. Apparently, the kid woke up, beat up two separate nurses and had to be drugged after barging into his mother's room despite the in-hospital separation order. 'I miss the days of my private practice,' he thought tiredly before downing the last of his coffee.

After making rounds to his less difficult patients, he sat in his office and looked over the DNA analysis from those at the scene, namely trying to figure out why Inko had sporadically referred to the unidentified villain as Izuku's father. Her preliminary psyche evaluation notes from yesterday showed she was in a fluctuating state of thinking the villain was and wasn't her husband. Ryosuke rubbed his head, he hates mental cases, they are such problems. 'Why can't she just be clear and certain?' the tired doctor wondered thinking to his protegee who was the epitome of certain, when it mattered anyway.

Sighing he stood up, time to talk with the boy, on the way out of his office he dictated an order to his assistant, a full psyche evaluation for the mother, preliminary for the son and a quirk counsellor for him as well.

Putting on a fake smile, he knocked at the door to Izuku's room before entering. "Hello young man, I am your doctor, Ryosuke Takahashi. Call me Ryosuke if that is easier." The boy didn't react, clearly upset as he was now heavily restrained and strapped to the bed. "How are you feeling today?" Ryosuke offered.

"What happened to my mother." The boy spat, clearly still upset about his mother's reaction from earlier.

"She was stabbed by an unidentified villain- "

"Dragon, that's the bastard's name" the rude boy interrupted.

"Of course, she was stabbed by Dragon." He said, drawling out the word as though it were the most ridiculous thing in the world. 'There are about a dozen different known villains and more than a few dumbass heroes that use that name. Great, I'll just put out an APB for organizations with a Dragon.' Still it was new information, better to report it. "In addition to smoke inhalation and some minor burns she is physically fine." Pausing and taking another breath to explain what the kid was really after, "the incident has caused her a considerable amount of stress and trauma. I've ordered a full evaluation, but she should recover in time," he finished.

The boy had a satisfied look on his face, but it soon shifted to one of distrust. "Are you telling me the truth, or what I want to hear?" This was a sharp boy, he had the spark, cold calculating eyes. "If you're just telling me that because you don't want me breaking out again, then stuff it. Why did she attack me?"

Ryosuke had seen people like this before, lack of trust, emotions kicked to the curb, the best kind of patient in his opinion. "She thinks you aren't her son, and changes between believing she is having a nightmare and suffering from severe depression. We currently have her on suicide watch and anti-psychotics. She refers to you, Izuku, as her 'sweet baby boy' and you, the person who killed the villain, as someone completely different. As I said she will be having a full evaluation, but if you want my non-expert opinion, she's been pushed too far too quickly. I doubt you'll be leaving in her care." With the bombshell dropped, Ryosuke waited with baited breath to see how the boy would react. If he burst into tears then he would likely face some discipline from the board, but if the boy took it in stride then he was in the clear. It was a favorite game of his – seeing if patients could handle intense information about their loved ones.

"I see. Thank you for telling me" the boy responded blandly. Ryosuke was pleased, and couldn't help a real smile from forming on his face. "What about me?"

"Apart from the injuries, we will be having someone stop by to talk with you before clearing you to work with a quirk counsellor. If you don't leave in your mother's care, then the foster home will need to know the details of your quirk." The boy nodded, still unfazed. "I understand you may have thought you would be headed to a family friend's home, but unfortunately since the incident, a social worker has intervened and determined you may be a risk and as a result will be transferred to a foster home for more dangerous wards. Ah, right, you heard none of that from me however, understand?"

"Yes" the boy let out quietly.

'Oh, he's right on the edge now!' Ryosuke was incredibly pleased with himself as he walked out of the room without another word.

The rest of the day was a blur for Izuku, who seethed with rage and despair as the plain faced asshole doctor calmly told him that Dragon had broken his mother and that he would be sent away. At some point he did speak with the psychiatrist, who seemed nice enough. She used her quirk on him to read his thoughts and determined he was not an immediate threat. The prospect of such an interesting quirk got them into an in-depth conversation about her quirk and how it worked.

She left him with a smile on his face. A pleasant note in the hazy and confused cacophony that was the day.

His sleep was troubled, reliving the events of the day where he cemented himself as a villain in the eyes of the world. He was certified as a delinquent now, expelled for fighting as an 8-year-old with a record as tall as he was, not to mention a murderer with a no doubt hideously scarred face. Granted he hadn't actually gotten the chance to see himself in a mirror yet, but the words 'severe burn' rung in his head from the report. 'How had I just glanced over all of that?' he asked himself. He hadn't even considered the note at the bottom of the report until the after he woke up and spoke with the doctor.

'Why did I not care? What's wrong with me?'

That night he fell asleep crying.

2 days later Izuku was cleared to undergo quirk counselling with his doctor, social worker, and psychiatrist in attendance. Izuku was led into a clear padded room, the door sealing behind him. He been to a few quirk counsellors over the years, a few too many cases of classmates trying to get him expelled for illegal quirk usage had forced the school's hand more than once.

"Alright now Izuku, I want you to describe everything you know about your quirk then we can get into the testing. Can you do that for me?"

"Yes. My quirk, according to the report gives me minor regeneration, a tattoo on my back, and might be the cause for a mutation of the myo-something gene."

"Is that all?"

"Mmm, I think there might be more, but I don't know."

"Can you try using it now for us? Also pull off your shirt, there is some discussion on what that tattoo might do."

"Uh, yeah, I can try. No promises though." Izuku reached inside, the pulling on his heart just like he did when he saw the villain over his mom, just like when he broke out to find her. The burning came easily, but it terrified him, only for a moment though.

"Interesting" Came the voice of the counsellor. "It seems activating your quirk causes that tattoo to unfurl and wrap itself around your body. It says here that at the annual fitness examination you managed a respectable 18 pushups. Would you be willing to give it a go for us now? You missed them this year, but we'll let you use your quirk, so put up a good score. How about it?" The counsellor was feigning excitement, Izuku could tell by the way his voice didn't tremble.

"Understood." Izuku looked down, noting the black bars containing a strange angular pattern that stretched from the back of his hands up his arm before disappearing onto his back. Getting down on his hands and knees, he extended his legs out and began to do pushups. The prevailing thought he had was how incredibly boring the activity was, he remembered the test from last year. It was markedly easier this time. Closing his eyes, he continued to do pushups until he felt a hand on his back. Shooting forward and flipping on instinct, Izuku's eyes shot open and dropped into a stance facing the person he now identified as the doctor.

"Sorry for disturbing you, but it seems we can add increased stamina to your quirk. Now pay attention, the tests aren't over." With that he turned and left the room. He could hear some yelling from the other room.

'wonder what they are arguing over?'

"For the next test we are going to test your strength," On cue a target on the wall illuminated, "just go ahead and hit that as hard as you can, first without your quirk then with your quirk. We might as well look into your double muscle gene while we are here."

Shrugging Izuku releasing his quirk. It felt weird, like taking off a blanket in the cold, it discomforted him. Watching as the tattoos on his arms receded was odd, the empty feeling was wrong. Resisting the urge to tug on the fires of his quirk. He let loose a punch at the target which landed with a resounding thud. Quick as a rabbit, Izuku pulled on his quirk hard, relaxing as the warmth encompassed his body again. He opened and closed his hand several times, making sure the feeling was just like before, it felt a bit different but he gave the target another swing. This punch was solid, heavy, something about it felt wrong, "Wait! Give me another shot!" Not waiting, Izuku focused harder on the target, picturing the villain's face. Letting rip a roar he swung at the target, impacting the target and being greeted with a shooting pain up the entire length of his arm. Letting it drop to his side and hang there limply, a satisfied smirk grew across his face.

"Very impressive Izuku! How about next we- "the counsellor started.

"Boy, come here and show me your arm" came the commanding voice of the doctor. Izuku complied walking over to the glass and holding up his arm. "Mark 'Hysterical Strength' on his quirk as well, seems Shiroyami was right. Izuku, do you know what 'Hysterical Strength' is?" Izuku shook his head, it was the first he had heard the term. "It's a pre-quirk term, basis of old characters with super strength, based on people pushing themselves to the muscular limit due to an influx of adrenaline. Some estimates had people using around 60-85% of their peak musculature. Izuku, you seem to fit into the more fantastic version, where people use 100% or more of their muscles tearing them apart in the process." The mic shut off, Izuku standing there while the adults talked in the other room.

'I wonder how strong I could possibly get with all of these weird enhancements?' Answering his question, the doctor came back on.

"Based on the standard curve, your mutation is making you about 20-25% stronger. Its on the low side for myostatin gene mutations, normally we see 30-45% increased muscle growth, though you are seriously underdeveloped. Regarding your second punch, we see an improvement of around 3 times your base strength, its not much, but considering the other effects going on with you quirk I certainly am not surprised. Finally, with the 'Hysterical Strength' we see an increase of around 60% over your quirk's strength. Such an interesting quirk…" the doctor finished before shutting the mic off and talking to someone else.

'So, I have enhanced strength, a quirk that amplifies strength, and the ability to force myself to use more strength than I should be able to…' "Talk about plus ultra" Izuku joked dryly.

"Quite so, with your arm like that we should let you rest, tomorrow you are being discharged"

Izuku ate the bland breakfast of runny eggs, bacon and toast. The portions were weirdly focused on the eggs and bacon, 'you need extra protein since you have more muscles than normal people,' he reminded himself. Swallowing another mouthful, he grabbed the supplement pills he was instructed to take along with his meals, supposedly he was significantly lacking in a few nutrients and would need to take the pills for a couple of weeks at least. Doctor Ryosuke had stopped by a few dozen times explaining to Izuku everything he needed to know about his quirk from a medical and dietary standpoint since he "didn't trust the idiots that would be taking care of Izuku to be able to properly handle his health," or so he said. Izuku had a growing suspicion that the man for all his odd gazes and mind games had taken a liking to Izuku.

Finishing the meal was a task, it was a lot of food for Izuku, about two meals worth of food comparing it to how he usually ate. Izuku let out an involuntary blech, turning red as his social worker walked in.

"Good morning to you too Midoriya-kun!" she smiles warmly. "Are you ready?"

"Yes ma'am, I'm ready but… could I see her one more time?" Izuku asked, knowing that it might be the last time he saw his mother for an extremely long time, he was already tearing up at the thought that his whole family had fallen apart over the course of a week.

"I don't think you'll get to talk to her but we can check," the social worker offered. Leading him up to the psyche ward on the 4th floor.

His brief adventure breaking into the psyche ward had caused a bit of a ruckus with his appearance shocking more than a few onlookers at the time. He had since been banned from the 4th floor unless he wore a mask. He still wondered what he looked like now, he'd carefully avoided looking at himself in the mirror not wanting to see how bad 'severe burn' scars looked. He still had his nose; of that he was certain.

Surgical mask covering the lower half of his face, the duo exited the elevator walking down to room 413. Walking down the eerily empty halls was uncomfortable to Izuku, his now diagnosed (preliminarily at least) paranoia whispering to him of all the potential threats that loomed at the edges of his vision. More than once he turned and spotted a security guard shadowing them in a not-so-stealthy fashion.

Coming to a stop beside room 413, Izuku looked inside, spotting his mother fiddling with what looked to be a picture book, cooing over every picture reading words to some unseen audience. 'She looks happier without me,' Izuku thought sadly. They stood at the window looking in for around 5 minutes before Izuku realized he was crying at the sight. An arm wrapped around him; the social worker pulled the boy into her side.

"Its okay to cry Midoriya-kun, I know this must be hard for you," it was hard, so hard to not burst into the room and hold her, he'd done so before, only to be met with attacks from him mom. "I think we should leave now, okay?" Izuku nodded, stifling the tears that came from his eyes.

'Why does it hurt so much more now? It didn't hurt before… maybe it was adrenaline?' It had been bugging Izuku his odd mood shifts, if you could call them that. According to the psychiatrist she couldn't detect anything that would make them appear, reasoning it must have been the adrenaline from using his quirk and some sort of stress. She didn't have the best idea, but assured him it was normal, but if anything changed to tell his foster parents and they would call her.

"yeah, okay." He sniffled tugging on the comfortable feeling of his quirk.

They made their way out of the hospital to a waiting car. Climbing inside Izuku quickly took stock of everything in the back seat. All of his things had gotten caught in the fire, so the day before the social worker took the liberty of purchasing a few days' worth of clothes to cover until the foster family could take him to buy more on their own time.

"Alright Midoriya, the Kotoryu family is kind of a long ways away, so you get comfortable. They live out in the country side, so expect plenty of bright sunny days for you to play coming your way." Izuku grunted in acknowledgement, and got comfortable. He didn't sleep, preferring to keep his eyes on the other two people sitting in the car. The driver was a man, tall, well built, with a short beard. Something about him unnerved Izuku.

Izuku waved it off as best he could, he was supposed to have a touch of paranoia Afterall.

The drive took about 6 hours, with two stops for gas along the way, Izuku continued to pretending to be asleep but the entire time he was focused like a laser, his quirk comfortably flowing throughout his body. It seemed the extra stamina meant he didn't get tired while his quirk was active. The driver didn't say anything for the whole of the drive, opting to place some old electronic music. It was kind of grating on the ears after a while, but for a period it sounded like it was trying to tell some cohesive story.

When they arrived at the Kotoryu home it was early afternoon. It was a sprawling Japanese farmhouse, two floors at least. A very tall couple came to the door, greeting the social worker while Izuku grabbed his things and hopped out of the car, pretending the rouse himself from sleep.

"Why hello! You must be Midoriya!" the tall lady beamed, "how was the drive young man?"

"It was okay, slept for most of it, kinda sore," that was only half true, his neck did kind of hurt, he should have picked a better "sleeping" position.

"Well, lets get you inside and settled then lad," the tall man commented. Izuku decided immediately that he did not like this man. There was something about him that rubbed him the wrong way. The way he stood reminded him of Katsuki.

'Shit I forgot to tell him I would be leaving… it doesn't matter though,' Izuku realized.

"Well it looks like you three are already getting along quite well!" came the call of the Social Worker, she was visibly tired, looking like she was about 10 minutes from falling asleep. "We already sent you all the info on Midoriya, so if you don't mind, I'd like to get back. A more local social worker will be stopping by tomorrow around 1 o'clock to deal with the last of the paperwork."

"Of course, we understand! We do live out here in the boonies, you get on moving. You'll be fine right Midoriya?" the lady, Mrs. Kotoryu asked sweetly.

"Yeah, I'm kinda hungry… when's dinner?" Izuku asked, he was pretty hungry, maybe using his quirk burned a lot of energy.

"look at that! Here not even 5 minutes and already asking for food! I think you'll fit right in here, dinner is in a few hours, how about we get you a snack and settle you in." The man, Mr. Kotoryu answered with a bit too much enthusiasm and sarcasm with his joke.

"Well, in that case. I'm going to head out now, if anything happens Mr. and Mrs. Kotoryu know how to handle pretty much anything." The Social Worker smiled weakly, before retreating without another word to the car.

"come' on sport, let's get inside, bugs are gonna start coming out," Mr. Kotoryu spoke, words filled with an underlying threat.

'enemy' Izuku found himself thinking involuntarily. He tugged harder on his quirk, the quickly familiar rush of energy flowing over his body calming him. He started sizing up the man. He was more muscular compared to Dragon; his quirk was a mystery to the boy. The woman didn't stoke any sort of reaction, she was soft looking, comfortable, but she didn't have any sort of presence. 'A stealth quirk perhaps?' His mind buzzed analyzing his new guardians, it was normal for him to analyze people who he might end up fighting, and the paranoia made it easier for him to rationalize his thinking.

Once inside Izuku was amazed at the tidiness of the place. It was large and old but impeccably well kept. The floors were freshly polished and his shoes squeaked noisily against them. Mrs. Kotoryu gave a smile and walked off to another part of the house leaving Izuku with Mr. Kotoryu.

"Wards! Attention! Main hall!" the tall man shouted an order, immediately Izuku heard a number of foot steps approaching from all directions in the house, tensing he shifted his stance a bit incase things got ugly. 4 boys and 2 girls scrambled into a line in front of Mr. Kotoryu.

"Ladies and gentleman I give you our newest ward, Izuku Midoriya. I expect you to treat him properly, he has had a rough week. To quell your questions, his quirk is an enhancer, strength and stamina, he already has a kill under his belt, his mother's broken so he's here. He will be starting school with all of you in a few days at the earliest as I haven't looked through his transcript yet." Mr. Kotoryu finished, turning to Izuku, "Anything I missed?"

"No" Izuku said angrily, glaring at the man who had just laid bare his sins to the people he would be living with.

"No Sir," corrected Mr. Kotoryu.
