Arthur

There was a storm, Arthur's uniform was soaking wet, he was walking lifeless down a dirt road, wandering aimlessly in search of someone. His body was losing body heat fast due to his drenched uniform, the uniform he was wearing showed he was part of the royal select an army of the strongest knights in the kingdom that served directly under the king, the uniform was endowed with magic, so it was stronger than a regular full plated suit of armor despite looking like fine silked clothing. This allowed for the uniform to look elegant, fitting of the highest-ranking knights, and allowed for greater mobility, essential for royal select knights known for their inhuman speed and strength. Although his uniform could be considered an absolute defense it was still damaged, suggesting he's been in countless battles, after all, a uniform from the royal select wouldn't tear from just anything.

His uniform demonstrated his status as one of the strongest in the kingdom, however, it did not protect him from adverse effects like extreme heat or cold, as the storm raged on, he was continuously losing body heat, he was also starving, and dehydrated from his long journey, but what his uniform lacked his holy sword covered. His sword made him a weapon, he was always in peak physical condition no matter how tired, hungry, or uncomfortable he was, he was always ready to kill, if ever came the time that he died from starvation or hypothermia he would simply die from a heart attack his body remaining at its most optimal level. By keeping his body in such a state, it meant he suppressed certain feelings like hunger and thirst, this was a blessing in battle but a hindrance in his day-to-day life as he could not tell how truly exhausted his body was.

Arthurs had not eaten or drunk any water for an extended period, despite his sword suppressing his thirst the level he had reached was extreme enough that he could feel it despite his sword, in desperation he lifted his head and opened his mouth to catch some of the raindrops falling, but that was a mistake the uncomfortable feeling of thirst his sword was suppressing exploded. Once the sword failed to suppress his thirst, he understood the perilous situation he was in, the sight of any liquid, even muddied water looked like the finest water in all the land. Without being able to handle it anymore he ran towards a puddle on the dirt road and started drinking from it to try and quench his thirst.

As he was drinking, he heard a scream, he regained his composure, and his sword suppressed his feeling of thirst once more. Arthur started running down the dirt road in a hurry, right now he was on a journey to find someone but he still had the pride of being a knight whose sole purpose was to protect people. He eventually reached the area where he heard the scream, there he found 3 figures in the distance, a child on the ground and a man holding another child by the throat.

But something was off the hooded man reeked of the same scent as the one who took everything from him.

That was no man that was a vampire, a demon of the night, a monster. Arthur felt sick to his stomach, tears suddenly started streaming down his face, anytime he remembered that day he could not help but cry, luckily for him the rain would hide his weakness. This man had a different scent than most vampires, in fact, most vampires did not even have a scent, except at times they reeked of the blood of their victims, meaning this man must have encountered the ancient vampire he met that fated day. He held nothing but contempt for vampires, as a knight it was his duty to kill monsters, so he unsheathed his sword instinctively the light illuminating his surroundings, truth be told he was not one-hundred percent certain the hooded man was a vampire but his scent, the feeling he got from him left him wary. As the man turned, he saw the crimson eyes glowing and his decision was made, he tuned everything out and focused, a vampire converted by him must have been exceptionally strong, so he had no time to lose.

He pushed off and closed the distance between him and the vampire in a heartbeat, in one fluid motion like he had done time and time again he swung his sword to severe the vampire's arm holding the child, and then as if it was the blade's path of least resistance if flowed seamlessly into its next move going through the vampire's neck. As the vampire fell his body started evaporating releasing steam from the entirety of his body.

Once he saw the vampire begin to evaporate, he knew it was dead, he sheathed his sword and looked at the two children, they both seemed injured, especially the one who was being held up. He came from the royal select meaning he had a good amount of wealth accumulated, a lot of knights trained diligently and aimed to join that elite team of knights serving directly under the king, mostly due to the fame and wealth that came from joining it. His wealth had allowed him to stack up on potions, meals, and other items that could come in handy for his journey, unfortunately for him he ran out of food and water, and potions were no replacement. He took two of the many potions he had out of his travel pack and tossed them to the children, the younger one seemed to be paralyzed by the traumatic events he just experienced and did not catch the potion hitting the dirt road instead, it cracked upon impact leaving its contents leaking out. Arthur took another of his valuable potions out and gently placed it on the ground in front of the young kid.

He would have wanted to help them more and take them somewhere safer than the middle of a dirt road, but at the moment he needed more help than those kids did, finding the children meant there was civilization nearby, as he walked his vision started to blur, he did not realize he was this weakened, his sword left him in peak physical condition and suppressed adverse effects so he was not aware he was well past his limit. After walking for some time he found the village, he noticed posts enchanted with magic that illuminated the village so people could see at dark, they were placed in strategic locations around the village so it would affect every location, leaving no section out in the dark. Despite the lit-up village there was no one around they were all probably asleep and the strong storm did not help his odds of finding someone. After entering the premises he walked a couple of steps before finally collapsing in the middle of the random village he encountered.
