Chapter 45. The end of the past

"Wait, that day will come, this beat of my heart will guarantee you to be mine," Luis fully believed his words.

"Crap, try to be next to me right now, I must pinch all your arms red." Winda laughed at the expression on Luis' face, which he was pinching.

"I'm willing if it makes you happy, but I want to ask for payment too. You have to make me SATISFIED," Luis emphasized at the end of the sentence, he did not want to lose.

"Basic, don't want to."

Winda is still laughing softly. "Have you already? There are still a lot of patients here".

"Even here you are talking to a patient," said Luis, a little spoiled.

"Enough of kidding, am I closed?" Winda hung up the phone before Luis could say anything more.

Winda is still smiling while putting her cellphone in her pocket. Winda was surprised when she turned around. A pair of sharp eyes belonged to a man who had been standing in the doorway watching his wind.

Winda's face turned cold, she kept her smile neatly, Winda stepped out without paying attention to the pair of eyes that saw her. But the man, Ari grabbed Winda's arm, holding her to leave.

"You seem happy if I can guess, you just received a call from your lover, huh?" Ari felt his heart was not calm.

"It's not your business, senior, Ari," said Winda coldly.

"Stop treating me like that!" Ari pushed Winda's body so that it leaned against the wall, Ari brought her face closer to Winda's face, only an inch away.

Winda was surprised by Ari's suddenly rude behavior. Winda was silent because she was still shocked because Ari was acting like this again.

"I beg Winda, don't act like this, don't ignore me, I feel sick here" Ari put Winda's hand on his chest.

This is what Ari always did if he wanted to win Winda's sympathy when he made a mistake.

Winda pulled her hand, Winda used to always melt with Ari's sweet words and attitude. But now, since Winda and Luis, whatever Ari does will never have any meaning again, Ari now cannot be compared to Luis, they are far different. At least Luis had always treated her well and had never brought her down in grief.

"What kind of attitude do you expect from me, after what you did to me?" Winda said in disgust to Ari, Winda remembered that afternoon when Ari betrayed her love and instead made out with Jesika.

Ari saw that there was disappointment in Winda's eyes, he realized that he had made a very fatal mistake, but his heart could not lie that he still loved this woman in front of him.

"Aaarrggh!"

Bbuuukk, Ari hit his fist against the wall right next to Winda's head.

Winda turned away reflexively, then turned back to stare at Ari's eyes with an even bigger feeling of disappointment. Winda pushed Ari's chest away roughly. Winda left Ari.

For a few seconds Ari was frozen in his position, trying to judge the action he had just done, Ari fell and sat on the floor with a feeling of regret that is difficult to describe, his fingers were scratched and bleeding.

Winda walked to the nurse's ward while arranging her emotions again to calm down. He continues his task of caring for patients.

Ah, really bad luck, Dr.Vian gave him the assignment to replace his job. Winda now has to bag a critical patient, her hands begin to follow the rhythm of pressing the Ambu bag, she also has to control her thoughts and emotions so as not to miscalculate. Winda must not be careless or the patient is breathless.

It has been an hour since Winda was doing bagging, her hands started tingling and aching everything. Until a nurse approached him.

"Let me replace it, here the Ambu bag" Ari prepares to take over, he seizes the Ambu bag held by Winda.

Winda wagged her hands and occasionally massaged her sore arms.

"Winda, forgive my attitude earlier," said Ari quietly without looking at Winda.

Suddenly Winda saw Ari, surprised by what he said ... Ari was rarely willing to admit his mistake let alone apologize.

"Did I hear you right?" Winda made sure.

"Don't ask to be repeated" Ari warned, still concentrating on his bagging without turning to Winda.

Winda saw Ari's hand that was still bleeding, "It must hurt". Winda then left Ari with his patient.

A few moments later he returned with a nurse who he ordered to replace Ari bagging.

"Come with me, let me treat your wound" Winda pulled Ari's left hand, which was not injured. Ari is certainly happy and follows Winda's orders.

Winda treats Ari's hands and puts bandages on. Ari still smiled happily as he continued to look at Winda. It turned out that Winda still cared about Ari's thoughts.

"Don't get me wrong, isn't it a nurse's job to help people who are sick?"

Winda explained so that Ari would not misinterpret.

But still, Ari feels Winda still cares for him, can Winda just tell someone else to treat him if he doesn't have any feelings for me, thought Ari to himself. Even though Winda did that because somehow Ari was injured because of it ... maybe because she was upset, so Winda felt the need to take responsibility.

"Thank you, you already want to admit your mistake and apologize, it must be difficult for you. I can only be your friend now, don't expect more because I'm happy with Luis" Winda said, looking at Ari.

Ari feels that it's over now, his love relationship with Winda will only be a memory.

"Ok, we are friends now. Don't hesitate to look for me if you need a friend, just a coffee or confidant" Ari forced a smile.

"Thank you friends" Winda smiled back with sincerity, she felt relieved now that the problems from her past had ended.

At eleven o'clock in the evening at the Kuala Lumpur Sunway Medical Center Hospital, the nurses are still busy taking care of their respective jobs, their white uniforms glow like a wingless angel who is ready to heal every patient even with just a friendly, soothing smile.

VIP room 7A where Luis was fast asleep in his patient bed. Some bandages were visible on the forehead and some on the legs.

A woman sat beside his bed, her gaze never left Luis's face, examining every wound that was written there, her eyes were swollen maybe because many tears had flowed from there but her face still looked beautiful with thick eyebrows like caterpillars.

The woman had been by Luis's side since his arrival until he fell asleep with his head pressed against the edge of Luis' patient bed.

Luis awoke from his sleep, he was startled by the woman sleeping beside him, his weak hand he used to rub her head gently with affection.

"Sorry to worry you" Luis was still rubbing the woman's head.
