Who's There?

I was unable to get any sleep that night until dawn finally awakened, I had slept late and was unable to get up.

I just wanted to sleep some more and forget about everything, falling asleep is the only time that I feel at peace, cause I feel nothing and it was always my peaceland.

I decided to sleep some more, unwilling to face the reality which awaited me, moments like this when I feel the need to be peaceful, something or someone always ruins it.

Birdie flew in through my window, landing on the side table close to my bed as I watched her spread her beautiful wings and relaxed on the table.

I wish I was a bird. I wonder what it's like to enjoy such freedom just like Birdie, she could go anywhere, spread her wings and travel to wherever she wishes to go, why would such a bird with this freedom stay with me in a place like this.

I reached my hands out to gently pat her head and uttered sleepily.
