Intimidated

Having been four days since the story of their father, their family connections hasn't been the same as they were all occupied with their thought.

With his mother and sister being in a quiet state and all, he was taking care of everything thing they need, but seems to all be in vein.

The bright smile that has always been on his sister face since they were little, was now no where to be seen as her face was in a constant dull mode.

Letting out a big sigh, he walked towards their room as he drop the food on the table.

"Beatrice, you have to eat something, you can't keep on starving yourself all because of something like that" said Owen.

Ever since the story of their father, she has not once eat anything and kept on starving herself.

"I don't have appetite to eat" replied Beatrice. "I guess a demon as myself can stay without food for days".

Since knowing the fact that humans consider their father a demon, she was no longer herself and was using the word unnecessary just to prove a point.

"Snap out of it Beatrice, what's wrong with you, pull yourself together, haven't we been together before this revelation, so why let it affect us now?" Asked Owen. "Look at me, do you think I'm okay with it, look at me Beatrice" shouted Owen.

Looking at his sister, he regretted his action as he can see tears pouring out of her eyes with her whole body shaking.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have raise my voice. Beatrice forget about everything you heard and live your life as you use to, please do your brother this only favor" said Owen as he turn to face his mother.

"I will be back shortly, let her be if she doesn't want to eat, do eat yours" said Owen as he walked out of the room.

Walking to the healer resident, he walked to meet Kara and her mom. Being the last day of her treatment, he paid for their stay before they all leave the resident.

Ever since hearing the story of his father, his interaction with Helen and Kara has become brief. For the past four days now, he has only visited them so as to buy them food and pay for her treatment and nothing else.

Not that he was angry with her, but he just wish to stay alone for some time so as to think of how to solve his issues and doesn't want anyone to interfere.

"Thank you Owen, thanks for everything you have done for us" thanked Helen as she follow behind him while carrying Kara.

"It's nothing, I'm glad I can help" replied Owen. "I do promise you guys to take you to meet my family, let's go today so you two can meet them".

"Okay" was the short reply from Helen as she followed him.

Reaching the front of an inn, Helen stopped as she was surprised to see Owen go inside. No way was he expecting her to following him inside.

Turning back to look at Helen, he shake his head as he understand what made her to stop.

"My family do stay in the inn, I told you I'm not from here so this inn is where we have been staying since we came here" explained Owen.

With hesitation, Helen walked inside and followed behind him as he walked the stairs.

Reaching his sister and mom room, he knocked on the door but there was no reply, so he opened it as he knew it was unlocked.

Walking inside, he could see his sister still sitting on the same spot where he left her, but the food has been eaten.

Seeing as Owen brought guest with him, his sister and mother quickly compose themselves as it would be disgraceful to see them in their current state.

'It work' said Owen inwardly as a slight smile creep itself towards his face.

"Come in Helen and Kara, this is my sister Beatrice and this is my mom" said Owen as he introduces the two groups. "This is Helen and her daughter Kara".

"Welcome Helen and Kara, my son told me a lot about you" said Bethany as she walked over to welcome them.

"Thanks for having me, mrs …." Said Helen as she remembered she doesn't know her name.

"You can call me Bethany".

"Thanks miss Bethany, I'm grateful to your son for saving the life of my daughter and I" said Helen as she bow her head.

"You must be Kara, how are you doing?" asked Beatrice as she walked over to meet Kara.

"Are you uncle Owen sister?" Asked Kara with her tiny voice.

"I am, your uncle Owen do tell me a lot about you" said Beatrice as she stretch her hand to carry Kara.

Helen on seeing the face of Bethany and Beatrice, she couldn't help but felt intimidated by them as their beauty was out of the world.

Not that she wasn't beautiful, but if she was being compare with them, it would be an easy match as they clearly outshine her in beauty.

'No wonder he look so handsome, having a mother and sister this beautiful, he wouldn't be any different and I'm sure it's the same for their father' said Helen inwardly.

"I will be back shortly, you all should catch up on things" said Owen as he walked out of the room.

'Thank goodness everything is back to normal, I'm sure with Helen and Kara here, they wouldn't think about it' said Owen inwardly.

Reaching downstairs, he exchange some words with one of the attendant before being handle a key to one of the room upstairs.

Walking back to the room, he pass the key over to Helen as he know they don't have a place to stay.

"Accept it Helen, I'm the one who told him to rent a room here for you guys to stay" said Bethany as she could see she was about to refuse it.
