Demon Slayer: The Descendant

I can't write a synopsis so if you're interested then please read the first few chapters if it doesn't interest you then don't read it this is my second fanfic and unlike the previous one I don't plan to drop it, I'll try to upload 1-2 chapters every day if i can't that means I'm busy with school and stuff. the cover of the fanfic doesn't belong to me it's from the demon slayer manga (obviously) and neither one of them belongs to me and I don't make anything off of this, if this fanfic needs to be taken down I'll gladly do so. just writing this because I'm bored out of my mind.

Katana And Departure.

Author's POV:

Timeskip: 2 weeks.

2 weeks passed since, Tsuki has been staying with the Rengoku family, many things happened during these two weeks, the most important thing being, Shinjuro taking Obanai to a man named Urokodaki Sakonji, Tsuki recognized the man's name, he heard it from the massive... hand demon he took out during the final selection, with Obanai leaving, Kyojuro and Tsuki spent almost all their time together, training, helping Ruka, Kyojuro's mother, and going around having fun, sometimes they would even go fishing, apparently Tsuki enjoyed fishing quite a lot, as it reminded him of the time he spent with his father.

He sent letters to his father often, asking about his well-being, telling him all about his stay at Rengoku's and how he was going to start going on missions soon, Masayoshi was extremely proud of his son, and also worried, Tsuki is the only thing he has left from Tsugikuni Niku, Tsuki's mother, what a wonderful lady she was...

'Today is the day.' Tsuki and Kyojuro thought at the same time, as they sat in the living room, Today was indeed, a big day for the two, as they would officially start their work.

The two sat in silence, considering that Tsuki's companion was the over-enthusiastic Kyojuro, you would think otherwise but no, Kyojuro was... not smiling anymore, he had the same serious look as he had two weeks ago when Obanai first voiced out his desire to become a demon slayer, the foreign character design returned.

Soon enough, a knock was heard on the door, "I'll get it." Kyojuro said and went to check who was at the door, "Rengoku Kyojuro I assume?" The man wearing a mask spoke, Kyojuro smiled and nodded, "I am your blacksmith, the name's Maruyama Michihiro (a character I made up, he's not canon.) nice to meet you."

Kyojuro let the blacksmith in and went into the living room, Senjuro and Ruka also arrived in the living room after hearing the noise, "Oh? could you... Perhaps be Anenokoji Tsuki? what a surprise, seeing as you are here, I don't have to make another trip to the mountains. I have your blade as well, though it was repaired by a blacksmith named Haganezuka Hotaru, he couldn't come himself as he was busy, so he requested I bring it to you."

"Welcome, I am Rengoku Ruka, nice to meet you, I assume you are my son's Blacksmith?" Ruka questioned the Masked man, who in return bowed, "Apologies, My name is Maruyama Michihiro, pleasure meeting you Rengoku Ruka-san."

He then proceeded to take Katana's he had on his back, they were concealed by cloth, and gave them to Tsuki and Kyojuro, they both took their own, took off the cloth, and both unsheathed the blades.

"This is... one of the most important moments in the path of young slayers, the color of your nichirin... is like fate, I sure hope... one of you has a red blade." Maruyama spoke to the two.

The swords were unsheathed, and the colors started to be seen... Kyojuro's blade was coated in a dark orange color, with a flame-like pattern, Kyojuro being a Rengoku... this was an expected result.

As for Tsuki's blade, it took a dark purple color, nothing too special about it, but even so, the sword was still quite beautiful.

'This... used to be my father's Katana, I better keep it with me at all times.' Tsuki thought and tightened his grip on his sword.

"No luck huh?" The blacksmith muttered to himself, "With that, my job is done here, I wish you all the very best." saying that he got up, "I'll see you out." Ruka spoke and followed him.

"Tsuki, my friend! want to do our first mission together?!"

"We will see what the crow will assign us."

Just in time, Tsuki's crow came in, "CAW!!! CAW!!! Anenokoji! Anenokoji! A demon has been spotted terrorizing the village in the west! get there before night and execute it!" (sorry but I probably won't think of a name of a village that's not going to appear in the story.)

"Well, here I go then, thank you for the hospitality Kyojuro, I wish you the very best." Tsuki said to Kyojuro with a sincere smile, bowed and grabbed his katana to defeat the said demon.

"Mhm! See you soon! next time we meet let's go on a mission together!" Kyojuro said before his crow came in as well and gave him a mission as well.

Tsuki took a deep breath and walked out of the house, of course, he bid farewell and thanked Ruka.

'My first mission... let's not disappoint the leader of the slayer corps.' Tsuki thought with determination and rushed towards the west, his crow perched on his shoulder and guided him towards the village.

Tsuki made it to the village before dawn and stealthily started looking around, the village was eerily quiet, too quiet in fact, the villagers all had... a kind of "dead" expression the type of expression you see on the faces of those who lost everything, Tsuki figured that this was all because of the demon he came to dispose of.

The sun went down, Tsuki focused as hard as he could, looking for any suspicious activity, the slightest move, the slightest sound, he focused on it all.

He didn't find anything, the demon was nowhere in sight for now, Tsuki's focus weakened for a second, before his neck snapped to the right, towards the forest.

'There, he's right there.' Tsuki thought before dashing towards the direction he... "sensed" the disturbance from.

Arriving at the destination, he looked around frantically, towards the rustling bushes, up to the rustling leaves, towards the river nearby, the demon was nowhere in sight.

'Did I make a mistake? I should go ba-' Tsuki's focus waned for a second, that second of doubt, that second of losing focus, was where it almost went downhill. Almost.

A shadowy being utilizing Tsuki's loss of focus rushed towards him and immediately used its claw to attack Tsuki's lungs, Tsuki's instincts kicked in and he barely dodged, receiving a scratch on his chest.

"GRRR... You're not gonna be an easy meal huh? figures... damned slayer!" the demon growled out, Tsuki narrowed his eyes at the target and drew his blade.

The demon growled before lunging again, using its claws he slashed toward Tsuki who blocked his strike before slashing at his arm, the demon bent at an unnatural angle to avoid and then disappeared out of his sight once again, Tsuki didn't lose focus this time, in fact, his focus was higher than ever, 5 seconds passed... 10 seconds passed... 15 seconds... the demon didn't attack anymore.

'Did it run away? No, it's here, it's waiting for me to do that same mistake again, I have to trick it into revealing itself somehow... yeah, that could work.' Tsuki thought before he at first glance... lost focus again.

The demon lunged, from behind, right toward his legs to incapacitate him, Tsuki in the blink of an eye turned around, "Moon Breathing, Sixth Form: Perpetual Night, Lonely Moon - Incessant." Before he released a multitude of curved slashes several meters in front of him, those slashes immediately released a wild barrage of crescent moon blades, completely dismembering the demon.

The demon had shock written all over its face, there were two reasons for that, the first reason was that it was tricked by a kid, a literal kid.

As for the second reason, "Y-You! H-How did you... B-Blood... Dem-" it couldn't finish what he was saying before it fully disintegrated, not even leaving ash that would serve as proof of its existence.

'That... could have gone bad, Lucky for me it probably just developed its Blood Demon Art... but still to catch me by surprise... I won't let this happen again.' Tsuki thought before waving his blade to get rid of any remaining blood and sheathing it again.

He took a deep breath and looked towards the moon, It was as beautiful as always.
