Initial Advancement Quest

Yu Sheng suppressed his excitement, after all, he was still in the main corridor and anyone could see him if they walked past, they would definitely be suspicious as to what would make a useless person like him that excited.

He calmed down and continued his walk to Wilfox's room, knocking on the door and waiting patiently.

"Who is it?" Wilfox's deep voice sounded from behind the mahogany door.

"Yu Sheng."

"What do you want?" His voice became annoyed.

"Can I please have some books?" Yu Sheng asked.

"Sure. What books do you want?" Wilfox's voice calmed, he thought Yu Sheng was there for something else.

"Can I have all the books you have on the Mechanic profession?"

"Sure, I'll bring them over soon." Wilfox was somewhat happy.

He thought that Yu Sheng was finally taking the step in the right direction and he was attempting to get stronger, although, he was kind of upset that he was going down the Mechanic route, but at least he was doing something.

"Ok, thank you." Yu Sheng did not go back to his room, instead he went outside. He had a look at the Basic Sniper Rifle blueprint and found many materials that he lacked that were necessary for crafting it.

Hm, this is a problem. Maybe I should just leave and use the talent again tomorrow? But the Basic Sniper Rifle seems very useful for my plans. Yu Sheng was quite conflicted as he did not know how to gather the equipment.

At that moment, he had an idea but it was an idea that would take a while to implement.

Every day, I am allowed an hour to explore. What if, I mine into the ground every time and search for metal myself and then once I have obtained it, I can get some extra, sell it and buy the rest of the required materials from the closest human settlement.

[Basic Sniper Rifle crafted successfully. 50,000 EXP rewarded. This is your first time crafting and you managed to make it on the first try, this boosts the EXP by 2, meaning you gain 100,000 EXP.]

It had been ten years since Yu Sheng first obtained the blueprint. Since them, he had reached level 4 on his Basic Mechanic Class, and just now he had successfully crafted the Basic Sniper Rifle, gaining 100,000 EXP after the bonus.

He used that EXP to reach the max level for his current Class, level 25.

Why can't I level up any more? Is this the so-called max level and to break past I need to finish a certain quest? Yu Sheng only knew the basics, he wasn't omniscient yet.

Potential Rewards:

Experienced-grade weapon blueprint

Class: Experienced Mechanic.

—————————————————————————

This quest is quite difficult but mostly interesting. The hardest part is the crafting of five weapons, it took me ten years to simply craft one! However, now with the Basic Sniper Rifle, I might be able to steal some resources through killing a few people. This is the only plausible course of action for me now. Yu Sheng decided. Before I do that though, I should read all of these books that I neglected while solely focusing on the Basic Sniper Rifle, I am sure that these books can potentially raise my Wisdom stat, even though it is already pretty high.

Following that, Yu Sheng opened Character Information.

250 free stat points?! Why have I only just noticed that now?! Yu Sheng was shocked at his lack of awareness.

He instantly began allocating them based on his understanding of the attributes, finishing with 30 Strength, 60 Agility, 80 Endurance 101 Wisdom, 13 Fortune and 5 Influence.

His power instantly rose from 0 to 73, his health points reached 770 and his stamina reached 765.

He was now a lot stronger than he once was, and he now believed he possessed the strength to begin executing his plan.

His lips curled into a smile as he muttered: "It is finally time. Time to complete my quest. But first, I shall finish all of these books."

Yu Sheng looked at his full bookshelf with anticipation. Books like <<Basic Guide to Machinery>>and <<Weapon Manufacturing Basics>> peaked his interest as he licked his lips in anticipation.

[You have successfully read and comprehended a Class-related book. Increasing Wisdom stat by 4.]

[You have successfully read and comprehended a Class-related book. Increasing Wisdom stat by 9.]

[You have successfully read and comprehended a higher Class-related book. Increasing Wisdom stat by 17.]

By the morning, his Wisdom stat surged from 101 to a whopping 317 after he read and comprehended around 80 different books.

He picked up the book that he wanted to finish on, it was not a class-related book, it was a book on the history of the world and the universe's beginning story.

From the book, he learned that there were four gods praises by the public, the Martial God, the Magus of Life and Death, the Crescent Moon Blade and the Machine God. It was quite obvious that these Gods corresponded to the four Classes but the general public who were not Transcendents did not know of the classes, they just praised them regardless.

He also learned of Blackshine's history and the many wars that had occurred in the past, one of them was between an organisation in North Blackshine and Whitesea, Whitesea won the war while suffering many losses and casualties.

Blackshine had two 'continents', North Blackshine and South Blackshine. Cavastine was in South Blackshine, Yu Sheng's plan was to flee to the North after obtaining the necessary materials.

Finally, he learned of the story of the universe's creation, publicly dubbed the Fable of Inception.

It went like this:

The Great One awoke from his eternal slumber and with his awakening brought darkness and light. Seeing these two conflicting existences, he fused his spirituality with them, creating the Spirit World and then fused his material body with them, creating the universe and everything in it.

What a shitty story! Yu Sheng expected a lot more from this story and was quite dissatisfied, but he consoled himself, thinking: 'The story definitely has something to do with Transcendents, this is the story for the general public.

Haha, enough delay. I'll stop reading for now, and begin my plan with my daily outside journey, then I will find a vantage point and use my sniper, killing the guards at the back of the building. Then, I will ransack their bodies for their weapons, infiltrate the building; find the resources and escape, this is the best plan I can come up with at this point in time.
