Prey

The party came to an end in a while, the guests dispersed... returning to their various homes, leaving the servants to clean after their mess

Orchid took off her gown and took a hot bath with the help of Ava and now, she laid on her bed

'There's something about you, princess. That I can't quite figure out yet'

'I think I'm interested in you, princess'

Orchid sighed and rolled on her bed. His words replayed inside her head over and over again

"What is wrong with you, Orchid?" she asked herself with a groan. After a lot of twists and turns, she finally drifted to sleep

In one of the rooms, prince Ciaran stood still on the balcony with a smile

"Finally, you went to sleep" he said before stepping inside the room. Ciaran sat down on the bed with his eyes filled with wonder

"Orchid" he softly called "What is it about you that left such an impression in me"

The first time he had seen her back at the forest, he could see pure innocence lacing in her eyes. He shouldn't have moved an inch to save her but he did. Probably because he was also attracted to her blood

And when he had held her close, her scent immediately wafted his nostrils, she smelled like flowers, she smelled nice

"My prey" he chuckled running his tongue along his canines "What can I do to have you close to you, for you to give in so I can have a taste..."

The next morning, the two princes of Regalon paid their respects to the King and Queen before exiting the palace

Orchid stood by her window and gazed down at the royal carriage with her eyes fixated on the prince

As if sensing her gaze, he looked up at her and passed her a wink. Orchid eyes widened and she felt her heart cease at his action

He smiled slyly before getting on the carriage and Orchid watched as it drove away

"Jerk..." she muttered before leaving the window side

"Princess, the princes are gone already" Ava informed, stepping inside the room

"Hmm, I saw them leave" Orchid hummed

"Why didn't you go down to see them off. Everyone including your sisters were there"

"I have nothing to do with the princes. I don't see of what way my presence is important" Ava sighed and looked at the princess. She really needed to stop looking down on herself

Regalon...

In one of the balconies in the tall palace, stood the dark prince along with his companion

"So what is it about this princess you talk about?" the blonde haired lad asked

"I don't know, something about her seem to entice me"

"Why the third princess? I heard the first and second are most pretty and... legitimate. What is it about her that 'entices you?'" Grae questioned, raised two fingers dramatically

"Her blood"

"It's always about blood, Ciaran"

"No, this is different. Hers has a wonderful aroma. I almost couldn't stop myself from devouring her. Ahh, the feeling...Now that it hit my nostrils, I certainly want to have a taste"

"Then, why did you stop yourself?"

"Because I would have ended up killing her. And I think I want more than her blood" a devilish smile appeared on his lips and his eyes dipped a colour of red "She is my prey. And amongst those demons piling up to feed on her, I am the only one who's going to have a taste"

"Oh..." Grae crazily smiled "This is a competition?"

"I wouldn't consider it one. Those creatures are not even a teeny bit compared to me" Grae chuckled at his words

"Well then, my prince. I'll take my leave. Enjoy your...hunt" Grae smiled and turned, changing into a red bird, his wings flapped and he flew away

Ciaran stared as the fire bird flew away and he stepped back inside the room

"Come in" he said, hearing a soft knock on the door. A maid walked in with her head bowed down and her hands folded in front of her

"Your highness...I'm here to provide for your needs"

"Oh"
