Death, Werewolves And Teenagers

The world as we know it isn't as simple as we thought. Between the usual looking bags of flesh known as humans, myths and legends live their lives consuming the weak and the fools. David Seier ,a rather special boy wakes up to a horrific reality in what someone could describe as a hidden world full of death and betrayal. Being special doesn't mean that you can become something akin to a God, because if Vampires, Werewolves and every other mythological creatures are real then you better believe that magic exist and that humans had learned how to use it.

The meeting between a wolf and a witch

As I was gathering my stuff from the table, I heard the girl that was sitting next to me calling my name.

"You shouldn't have done that."

"If I may ask, why?"

"Because you will become their new target now, especially seeing what you have done to them."

"To be honest with you, I could care less about them, and if by any chance these idiots are, well idiots and desire another beating, who am I to deny their pleasure?"

"You are a weird guy."

"Says who? The girl that all of the people call a witch? And who dresses up like one? What do you even care in the first place?"

Note to self, whatever would happen to me when I turn 16 has started affecting me, thus making me angrier and overall an asshole. As soon as I said those I start to realize how much those words are hurting the poor girl. While it wasn't too obvious for a normal human, but for someone like me, who has better senses, I could feel how hard the girl was trying to stop her tears from coming out, and before I could apologize to her for saying those harsh words, I heard the headmaster calling my name using what I could only refer as a remote speaker.

Taking one last look at the girl, I could see her rushing out of the classroom, and as much as would like to apologize to her; I couldn't do it without getting myself in some shit even bigger than what I have already done with those five guys.

Walking towards the headmaster's office was something I have never experienced, mostly because almost all of the kids were looking at me strangely and whispering about what I have done in the classroom.

When I have entered his office, I saw the headmaster being surprisingly calm for someone that has to deal with a delinquent.

"Take a seat, Mr. Seier. Now would like to share with me why did you defend yourself from those five kids?"

If I would have been dumber, I wouldn't have picked the meaning behind his words, thankfully for me, I was neither dumb nor someone who would be too prideful to recognize an olive branch.

"Well, sir. It started immediately after the class has ended and I was gathering my stuff to go to the next class when those five guys surrounded me and start pushing me around. At first, I didn't want to do anything, but when one of them punched me in the face…"

I stopped talking and show him how red was the left side of my face, obviously from how cold it was today, but who cares?

"I had to defend myself after that, and happily those five weren't skilled fighters, or I would have been in their place." I don't know anyone from this school, and I'm confident they don't know anything about me either, until today, of course."

"I see, I'm extremely sorry about what happened to you on your first day, therefore I'd want to apologize by giving you the rest of the day off. You are not required to attend any courses today if you are not feeling well as a result of what occurred to you. I trust the teachers will understand. And, in the future, try not to defend yourself so fiercely, since it makes the other students consider you as a delinquent, and I believe you don't want to be labeled as one."

"None at all, sir."

"Then you better start acting like a normal kid and not like a delinquent from now onwards. You can go now."

"Thank you, sir."

After that, I left his office, contemplating the cause for his assistance. First and foremost, I don't recall ever seeing the headmaster before arriving here, so that possibility is ruled out. However, I rarely left my house, and when I did, it was usually to assist my mother or to hunt a wild animal. Perhaps he was a friend of my mother's or possibly my late father's?

I faintly heard someone crying as I was walking without a destination in mind. Normally, when you hear someone weeping, you rush over to comfort them, but here I am, standing in front of what appears to be an empty classroom, contemplating how I would console the crying girl. Now I know it's my fault for lashing out at her like that, but whatever is inside of me has slowly started to make me angry and want to act before thinking, which in my opinion makes me a suicidal moron. When I go home, I'll talk to Destiny about it. Before I could even come up with a solution to my problem, I heard someone coming from around the corner and, without hesitation, I opened the door.

I wasn't surprised to see the witch girl crying, but I can't say the same for her. She was definitely taken aback when someone barged into the classroom while she was crying, but when she saw that the person who had entered the classroom was none other than myself, I could smell the panic rising up in her.

As soon as I felt her fear, something inside me start yelling in my mind to shred the girl to pieces and devour her, but thankfully her voice managed to bring me back, thus saving both of us, probably.

"Wh…What are you doing here!? Did you come here to make fun of me? Didn't you have enough fun calling me those names back in the classroom?"

"Look, I'm sorry for what I've said to you, but how could I explain to you that something big is going to happen to my family next week, and I'm both excited and nervous, not to mention that I'm the new kid coming here with no friends, add all of those together and you'd get an anxious, semi-angry, and scared teenager boy who would say anything to calm himself down. I know I hurt you by saying those hurtful things about you, and I genuinely regret saying them to you. Would you kindly forgive me?"

At first, she didn't say anything to me, but she still walked in front of me and hugged me suddenly. While she was dressing quite weirdly, I have to admit that this girl was quite beautiful if you can get past her strange way of being herself, I guess.

As she was hugging me, I did the only sensible thing someone could do to comfort a crying girl and that was to gently rub her back.

We continue to hug for five more minutes before she realized that we were hugging for such a long amount of time.

"I'm sorry for hugging you so suddenly."

"Don't worry about it. It's the least I can do for you after you know…"

"Yeah…thanks. I don't think that we have met before right?"

"I don't think so. I'm David Seier by the way."

"Vanessa Shore."

"So Vanessa, can I ask you out as an apology for what I have done to you?"

"Are you asking me out on a date as hitting on me or just as an apology?"

"That my dear classmate is for me to know and for you to find out."

"Smooth move big guy, but that won't work, at least not completely."

"And here I thought that I would be blessed. Well, you live to learn right?"

We continue to talk about different things, slowly getting to know each other and after one hour we both decide that today's school day was long enough for both of us, so like any sensible teenager, we both decided to ditch the rest of the classes for today and go eat something out, my treat of course.

Unfortunately for both of us, our get-to-know-you date was interrupted immediately after Vanessa's mother saw us when we were supposed to be at school. Thankfully, she wasn't too furious with her daughter for one reason: when you're young, you tend to experience different things, but I swear to God, she almost spit venom on me when she spoke those words. Most likely, she had the wrong impression about us, and while I won't deny that I'm starting to like Vanessa, it's too early for me to ask her out; after all, we've only just met, and I know next to nothing about her, and she knows next to nothing about me.

After saying goodbye to both mother and daughter, I walked out of the coffee shop and slowly start walking towards Destiny's house.

Meanwhile Vanessa and her mother, Miranda was talking about me.

"Tell me how did you meet him."

"He's the new kid and one thing led to another and we both decided to ditch classes for today and come here to know each other, but that's it, mother."

"So what you are saying is that unfortunately for you two, I have interrupted your date."

"I didn't say that!"

"Not with those exact words, my dear, but I suggest you get to know that boy firstly before you even think about becoming a couple or even friends. Some things are not what our eyes see, my dear daughter…"
