Death, Werewolves And Teenagers

The world as we know it isn't as simple as we thought. Between the usual looking bags of flesh known as humans, myths and legends live their lives consuming the weak and the fools. David Seier ,a rather special boy wakes up to a horrific reality in what someone could describe as a hidden world full of death and betrayal. Being special doesn't mean that you can become something akin to a God, because if Vampires, Werewolves and every other mythological creatures are real then you better believe that magic exist and that humans had learned how to use it.

The Boy that used to live in the woods 1/2

If someday you found yourself in an unknown place with nothing but the clothes that you wear on you, what would you do?

The first thing a normal human being would do is to find the nearest place where he or she could contact the police or something similar, but unfortunately for me, I wasn't a normal human being. When I was seven, my mother took me to what she referred to as my father's heaven, and while the chalet wasn't that bad looking other than the fact that it show clear signs of being abandoned for a long time. The whole chalet was big enough for a family of five maybe six to live comfortably inside and if that didn't make me realize what this place was, then the fact that my father's room had almost every single animal head in the entire USA clearly made me realize that maybe whatever he was infected me as well.

While I didn't show any particular markings like he had, for example for every successful hunt he would tattoo a small line on his body, and for every worthy opponent taken down he would grow stronger, at least that's what my mother told me. I didn't have the pleasure or maybe misfortune to meet him, as he died immediately after my birth and while I doubt that he died in a car accident as my mother told me, I rather believe that than what he wrote on a note that I found in my mother room.

At first, I thought that I was just a normal boy, but I remember as clear as a bell that when I was five years old, I was playing with some kids at the kindergarten and one of the older kids tried to push me away for some reason unknown to me even to this day. Anyway, after he pushed me, I decided to do the same thing to him and unfortunately for him, my strength wasn't something that I could control, at least not when I was that young, resulting in me almost killing a six-year-old kid and almost losing control of my body for the first time.

Thankfully for all of us, my mother managed to clear the situation thanks to her sister, Aunt Destiny as I like to call her. She was the witch as my mother called her, basically, she did tarot tricks, looking through the globe and even offering comfort to sad men and women for the right price, of course. Thanks to one of her clients, I managed to get out of trouble with just a warning and a suspension if you could call it like that.

After that incident, my mother decided that I should know what actually happens to me and that's how I found out that I was something akin to a werewolf. While not the usual werewolf that would transform into a bigger wolf-like those from that depressing saga. Rather than that form, my mother told me that if by any chance I would transform before my sixteen birthdays, I would be a curse to live the rest of my long life as a monster in human skin. Normally a Wolfman/Wolfwoman would be something that resembles a human, meaning that it would retain its human features, but with a slight alteration to its body when transformed like slightly more fur, claws, or even a wolf-like face something that my father called a Pug-Wolf, but then there was the cursed transformation of a werewolf.

When a young werewolf transforms before its maturity, he or she would be a cursed to live like an abomination. Usually, those that are abominations were hunted or killed either by hunters or even their own packs to protect their identity from the outside world. The said abomination had an actual name if you can believe it, my father referred to it as a War Wolf or there were a few times where he wrote that The War Wolf was the true wolf of a werewolf, unfortunately, though, every single reference of the said werewolf either loses their minds or become killing machines without any remorse and that wasn't even the worst thing that came with the curse. Once you become a War-Wolf you won't be able to return to your human form ever again thus almost all of the War Wolfs were either killed or experimented on by various factions all around the world. But then there was the first War Wolf to retain his human mind and ability to become a human once again. His name was Stefan Schaumann, the first werewolf to live over five hundred years. He was born somewhere around the mid-1300. There is this old book in my father's library that tells some of his tales and believe it or not this guy fought in almost all of the big wars in Europe from 1400 to WW2 when he was killed by the USSR soldiers. Strangely enough, every single war he took part in, was written by someone different, at least that's what I believe because every single chapter has a different writing style.

There is a whole chapter explaining how he achieved the impossible, but the price he paid was too great for someone that lives in modern times to actually pay: One hundred liters of fresh human blood and the heart of his/her lover and at the same time the ritual to win over the crazed wolf has to be done when there is a blood moon. It's a gruesome price for power and very few actually managed to win the wolf to their side, after all even with this ritual the chances of regaining your sanity are still very low.

As I was reading my father's books, I heard my mother calling me.

"David! Come down here!"

Usually, when my mother calls me by my name, I was in trouble for doing something stupid, but this time, I was confused. I barely even left my room in the last few days for one reason: My Sixteen birthday was next week and I'm scared of what may happen if I somehow end up transforming earlier than normal.

Going down the stairs, I noticed my mother talking with Destiny about something rather import, thanks to my wolf senses of course. They were talking about high school … something I wasn't too excited to attend, after all, who would like to spend half of his day amongst horny teenagers and boring teachers when you can learn about the supernatural at home?

"Good morning Mom, D. How are you today?"

"Morning, Sunshine! I decided to drop by and congratulate you."

"Let me guess…High school?"

"You and your dog ears. How can I surprise you if you can hear me coming from kilometers away?"

"No comment there. So, why now? After all, I'm fairly sure that I could learn everything High school has to offer in half a year if I really want to."

Poor choice of words, I tell you, because as soon as my mother heard me, I found myself staring at the ceiling with a flip flop mark on my face.

"David, you don't have a say in this matter. You will go to school even if I have to drag you there myself and the reason for that is that you need to meet new people other than me, my sister and shopkeepers, from the town. So yes, you are forced to attend high school or God forbid what I would do if you still refuse. You will have to live with Linda, but I'm sure she won't say no to her favorite nephew."

I could only let a tired sigh, after all no matter what I say, I would still have to attend high school.

"No problem mom, I'll move with D while I believe you will go back to your work in Germany, right?"

"Unfortunately, you are right. I need to go back to work so that we live comfortably and while I hate to say it, you could also get a part-time job, of course only if you want."

"Mom, at how much you are paid to take care of your patients, I doubt I will ever need to work, but I don't want to become a rich bastard."

After that, my mom forced me to go pack all of my things so that we could move my stuff to Destiny's place.

(A/N: Destiny is the nickname our MC uses to call Linda, his aunt aka the sister of his mother)

Thanks to my absurd strength, I easily carried a few boxes of things at once and after three hours, I was finally settled at Destiny's place. She let me take one of the empty rooms upstairs which were more than awesome for me, after all, it would be quite awkward if I end up bringing a girl home and I would have to feel D's eyes on my back while I bring the girl to my room. Not to mention that her job doesn't make the whole situation less awkward.

My mother left shortly after she told me that I would start attending High school from tomorrow, a week before my birthday.

As much as I hate admitting this, I was always a momma boy and while I don't proudly wear that title, I was sad and scared that I would have to have my first transformation without her presence, thankfully D was here and I wouldn't have to transform alone.

After a slightly tearful goodbye, I told Destiny that I want to go right to sleep and that I'm sorry for not eating with her today. Thankfully she just smiled and told me to rest well and that she would cook me something good for breakfast.
