Eru peered at the dark shadow laughing at him. "There is darkness in light, goddess, tsk, tsk, tsk, you forgot that," the shadow demon said in a crackling voice.
The dark shadow slowly crawled out of Deric and moved closer, but suddenly it glanced at the door and scoffed. "Pest after pests," it said, and disappeared.
All of a sudden, Deric collapsed on the bed.
"Deric! Hey, wake up," Eru patted his cheeks, but he was unresponsive. Even his berthing was very choppy. "DERIC!!!! Wake up…. help.. HELP!! MASTER!!" he shouted aloud.
The door right then the door banged open and their master ran in, followed by stunned Silas.
"Mas—master help him. He's barely breathing," he shouted aloud.
Lumian ran over to them and held Deric carefully in his arms. "What happened?" he peered at the sacred looking Eru.
"A… a shadow demon… it was a shadow demon," Eru cried aloud.
Just hearing these words, Lumian's face went grave. "Silas, go out and make sure to guard the door. Don't say a word to anyone and don't let anyone in, at any cost!!!"
Silas hesitantly glanced at unconscious Deric and at his master. "Y—yes, master," he stuttered and dashed to the door.
He threw a last worriedly glanced at them and closed the door behind him. He locked it from outside and leaned against the door. "What is a shadow demon?" he mumbled with a confused sigh.
Heavy thudding footsteps were heard near the corridor. Silas straightened up and stood guard seriously.
"What happened?" Kaden whispered with a frown. "I heard prince Eru shout Deric's name? did something happen?,"
"N-nothing, just he sprained his neck a little so—so he asked prince Deric for help… I think they might have made it worse, ha-ha," he awkwardly laughed.
Kaden peered at him. The subtle frown on his forehead deepened. "Why are you lying? What actually happened?" he pushed past him to the door.
Silas pushed him back by his shoulder. "I said nothing happened. So leave," he said firmly.
Kaden glared at him. "Something happened to Deric, right?" He growled. He easily pushed past him, but Silas held a knife to his throat.
"No one passes this door. Not even you," he said with a glare.
Kaden glanced back with a sneer. "You can actually hurt me? Aren't you crazy about me? Why do you want me to pay you with my body for you to let me through?"
Silas's eyes went wide. "Y—you knew…. You knew about my feelings,"
"Yes, even a silly rock would have been aware by now. You make it that obvious when you salivate for my body," Kaden growled and shouldered past him into the corridor.
"You didn't have to be so mean," Silas whispered, watching his string back disappeared to his room. "Was my feeling for you a joke?" he sadly leaned against the door. A sole tear escaped his eyes, but before it could fall he wiped it away swiftly. "My tears are precious, I won't waste them, even for you,"
Inside the room there were even more emotions running around. Eru was silently sacred looking at his master's grave expression. Deric was still not breathing properly so Lumina had to do a CPR on him.
"Is…Is he going to be okay? That thing… it came out of him," he whispered in shock.
Lumina glanced up suddenly. "Did you touch that? Did that thing get on you anywhere?"
"I tried to fight it with my soul energy but as soon as it touched the demon it turned black I—I was so scared and so I brushed off my soul energy… it—it burned my sheets see," he pointed at the scotched part of the sheets. "Master…. It was destroyed how did it come back again? How did it…"
"Wait, you are saying Deric was already hosting a demon?" Lumian said all of a sudden.
Not knowing how to answer that Eru glance at him, eyes wide open. "N—no that not what I meant…"
"ERU! Answer me. Was he a host for this demon or not?" Lumian shouted. Eru put his head down, refusing to answer. "You have to answer prince, or your friend's life might be in even more danger than you expect,"
"I—I won't answer. He is in good health, he is not sick, that—that thing just came out the window and latched on him," Eru said seriously.
Saying the truth could only mean that Deric would be put in a prison all his life. He might never see the light of the day again.
Lumian groaned and patted Deric's face. "This doesn't look like a momentary possession….. Eru young man, you are in so much trouble for hiding this," he said and lifted Deric in his arms.
"Where are you taking him? Master… master, wait," he shouted and followed him out of the house. Kaden noticed this and followed after with a grave expression.
Lumian did not bother with anyone he summoned his mount, got on and rode away.
Seeing this Kaden also got on his griffin and followed after him, leaving behind a sobbing Eru and a silent Silas.
