Kidnapped

"Wait here, I have something to say to you." As they entered the house, Aanya asked Kei to wait in the living room.

"Un." The boy nodded his head and say down on a cushion sofa nearby.

"Did you check the global rankings?" Asked Aanya as she came back from her bedroom.

The boy nodded in reply again,

"Then you should also know that girl who was ranked second, right? Did you pick up anything after looking at her profile?"

"Yes! There were question marks on her cultivation potential." Said the boy, he was curious about its meaning.

"Do you know why?"

The girl turned serious,

"I-I don't."

"It is because she is not human. There are many races in this world and the potential of these beings cannot be measured by human devices."

"Meanwhile you, my brother. Do not worry about not possessing a mana affinity. That is mainly because, unlike normal humans, you are blessed by nature. Even though there has been a decrease in the trend of awakening soul weapons due to the decrease of mana in this world-

Among every few millions of people, a human blessed by nature is born. These humans are bestowed heavenly physiques by nature that grant them supernatural abilities.

Each physique has different characteristics.

The girl in the second-ranking also had a unique physique. These types of children occupy a special place in famous sects that help them in activating their physiques."

"So, will you join my divine sky sect? Don't worry, you won't be alone since the second-ranked girl is also joining our sect."

The boy's eyes twinkled like a star, as he nodded in response. He wanted to be with his sister as long as possible.

"Ok then, go and get ready for an after-party. I will report to my sect that you are joining."

The boy went to his room and lay down to get some rest.

As he fell asleep, a shadow flickered near the balcony of his room. However, just a second later, it disappeared.

In another room,

"I understand, but is it really important for him to take the exam, Miss Ru? I humbly request the principal to reconsider."

"I am sorry Aanya, You already know of the rising tension between the 7 races after the disappearance of the gods. If I show favored treatment towards a human child, the other races might get infuriated. Word is that a huge war between the 7 races is going to take place in an attempt to search for 'The throne'. " Said a voice on Aanya's phone

"I understand," Aanya replied, dejected.

She cut the call and walked towards Keiren's room to check up on him.

"Creek." A slight noise was made as she opened the door to his room.

"Huh, where is he?" Noticing that the boy was nowhere in his room, Aanya questioned, "Kei, where are you? This isn't funny." She was scared.

Even after a few minutes, he didn't reply. Aanya got anxious and started looking through the house but couldn't find him.

She hurriedly ran to her room and picked up her phone to call someone.

"triiing… triiinng… Hello Aanya, why are you calling me so late at night?" The voice on the phone asked in a sleepy tone.

"Birkin! No time to explain. Do you remember my brother Kei? He went to his room to change a while back but he just disappeared. I checked the whole house but I can't find him!"

"Seriously, Aanya? Didn't you think he could have sneaked out of the house to go to a party or to meet one of his friends?"

"You don't understand Birkin, that boy never had any friends and he always liked to be alone. In fact, in the last few months, I am the only person he has had a conversation with!"

Sensing the seriousness coming from Aanya's words, the voice from the phone replied

"I understand. Give me some hours, I will find him."

Aanya also left the house and started searching for him.

Although Keiren always talked with a smile on his face, she knew that since their parents died, he had stopped interacting with people much.

The only thing he was active in was social media, sometimes so much that the girl had to take the gadgets away from him.

"Where could you go, Kei… " The girl thought, tension creased on her forehead.

Outside the walls of the city, Deep inside a forest. A man was standing in front of a boy. The boy's hands and feet were tied and he was sitting with the support of a tree. That boy was Keiren Astaroth.

"I never thought I would get a chance to nip such a great bud of the humans! Kekeke. We shall win the upcoming war!"

The man did some hand signs in front of the boy, and just after a few seconds of weaving;

"Ahhh"

Keiren started screaming in pain. His head felt like it was bursting apart.

"His heart stopped beating! To think his soul would be so easy to destroy- Now he won't ever be a threat to us." Said the man with pointy ears.

To his surprise, an aura leaked out of Kei's dead body that froze the man. The man was so terrified by the aura that he couldn't lift a finger.

"To the Elven Empire!" With a last shout of pride, everything around the man blackened out.

" Boom! "

Kilometers around the boy and the elven man burst apart, devoid of any life due to the explosion of energy.

While Aanya was searching for her brother, her phone rang

"Aanya! Meet me outside the city gates!" The voice behind the phone said. Immediately hanging up the phone.

Aanya blitzed through the streets to meet up with her friend.

A few minutes later,

Aanya could see Birkin standing in front of the gates.

"Follow me." 

The two went outside the city, however, what Aanya saw next made her frightened.

The ground in front of them was razed, even the 5 kilometers ahead of them.

There was no life as far as their eyes could see. The burnt land was all that was left behind.

"What happened?" Aanya could not understand, how was this related to her brother.

"When you told me about your missing brother, I made all the people under me search for him. From what they could see, your brother was tied to a tree while another man guarded his figure. Probably a man of another race. 

We all sighed in relief that he was alive and sent a rescue team to bring him back, however, the other person used a soul technique all of a sudden. That technique should have destroyed his soul permanently."

Tears came running down Aanya's cheek as her legs lost energy.

"Thud" She fell on her knees as she covered her face, sobbing.

"Uff, listen to me first, you dummy. Your brother is not dead. Did you think how a soul technique could wipe out this entire forest?

Just after your brother was confirmed dead, an aura leaked out of his body.

This was such a deadly aura that even my unit couldn't handle it, thus retreating until the aura disappeared. 

We barely managed to contain the aura.

But even the aura wasn't as surprising as how your brother's heartbeat returned to normal.

It was like his soul had never been erased. After briefly checking through his body, we immediately took him to the hospital."

"How?" Asked Aanya, her mind confused.

We also couldn't understand it, so we had some tests run on him. We found out that he has a heavenly physique.

One that allows the user to revive 'n' number of times. About the dark energy, we are still not sure where it originated from, it disappeared as soon as it came.

"It is only because you are the disciple of her. She had come here as soon as the incident occurred and also helped us in suppressing Keiren's aura, if not for her then your brother would have become a living lab rat on whom all types of experiments would have been done." Birkin replied, his mind still processing what happened.

"Ms. Ru also sent you this note." He said, retreating back into the city.

Aanya took the note and dropped a small amount of blood on it. Just after that, the seal on the note broke.

"Aanya, listen carefully and burn the note after reading this.

It is not the first time his physique has been activated, While I checked his physique, I found out that it was first awakened a day back.

This means that he has already died and experienced dying once, I don't know why he didn't tell you but I believe you should ask him after he wakes up."

A lava-type substance came out from Aanya's fingers, burning the note instantly.

"Can you take me to where my brother is?" She asked

The man nodded and started walking in a certain direction. They then started flying towards a building.

[ Nia Hospital ]

Birkin and Aanya walked inside, they took the lift and pressed the button to the third floor. It was finally time to meet him, Keiren Astaroth.
